Check the logs for more information. Error code: s1023

  • How can I uninstall/reinstall/repair DirectX 9.0?

I bought and downloaded a game from Big Fish Games. The package came with an update of DirectX 9.0, as is necessary to play the game I bought. I couldn't play games I downloaded because DirectX keeps freezing. I ran dxdiag and tested. When I tested the DirectX 3D it froze. I tried to download the same program from Microsoft to see if that would prompt an automatic repair, but it would not install it because it was already installed. I also tried to uninstall it from my Add/Remove Programs, but it wasn't the case to find. I have a Wiindows XP service pack 3. How can I solve this problem?

Try to re-install or, if necessary, uninstall and then reinstall your video card driver. That should reset the pointers and let it work. Dxdiag should show your version as DirectX 9 .0c (4.09.0000.0904).

Most of the games that install DirectX will allow you to cancel and continue with the rest of the installation. If you are already at the latest version, which would be best to do.

If all else fails, you would probably have a Restore Point created at the time you did the initial installation of the game. Restore to this point.

  • DirectX 11 preventing me from playing games!

I have Windows 7 32-bit, a 8800 GT 512 MB vid card. When you try to play World of Warcraft and Dragon Age: Origins I crash repeatedly. I don't have these problems when I had XP and directX 9 .0c. My video drivers and BIOS are all up-to-date and current. I have the dxdiag info if it helps. I was wondering if I could go back to the version 9 .0c or uninstall DX11 and then install 9 .0c?

    Here are my system specs:

Where did you get the impression that DX11 is the source of the problem? WoW does not even use DX11 AFAIK. It uses the version of DirectX that the program to use. Everything I see your Dxdiag is that your sound card drivers are not signed by Microsoft.

What are the errors do you get? Have you tried updating your sound card drivers? You have run the WoW repair tool? I'll also try disabling your sound card, and then launch the game to see if the problem persists. I don't know a lot of people with this kind of sound card.

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

  • Blue screen after downloading DirectX

    original title: Possible graphics problem

The story is: I came across the site to download DirectX programs. Once the download is complete, I guess that the downloaded file itself stuck on the original file, but I suddenly got the blue screen and my computer off. I'm not a stranger to it, but when I'm ready to understand the problem, my computer would not start. Of course, I see the screen saying that windows did not close properly and to recommend that I have run the Startup Repair tool. However, when I press on enter, the screen appears again. I chose "Start Windows normally" and the computer did a disk check. It restarted again, but on my computer, when loading Windows there is a small bar that crosses the screen several times. It is usually on about 15 to 20 seconds, but he remained for more than a minute, this time, then the cut screen (which is normal), and then it restarted abruptly again. I remembered that there is a way to do a system restore without having to connect, so I tried it, and the computer restarted again. I tried to run safe mode, but that no longer works. It just seems like anything where the mouse can run does not load. I don't know if it's a kind of graph question because I am trying to download DirectX, but it seems that he. Moreover, in the start menu, I chose "LAN start" and he said that it was a test of media or something, but then he says that the test failed and to check the cable. There was a code, but I forgot. Something with a P. I don't know what cable it means or if this could be a factor. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Everything you did corrupt the existing installation. Using the option boot LAN would do nothing for you, that is used to install windows from a network, not repairs.

Your best bet would be loaded from the recovery console or safe mode with system restore command prompt. If this fails, you might have to reinstall Windows to repair the file system damage. You will need a Vista installation disc to access the Recovery Console, from here, you can run rstrui.exe to start the system restore.

  • Installing DirectX, that an internal error has occurred...

    PROBLEM:

I get the following error message "DirectX Setup: an internal error has occurred." Please refer to the DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine the problem. "When you try to install ANY version (version 9 or later) of DirectX using the directx web installer or the full installer. Please click to see these two newspapers DXError.log and DirectX.log.

    REASON:

Why I'm trying to install directX this is because I am playing a game, "Dead Island", which apparently requires DirectX 9 .0c for the sound working properly and is my DirectX 9 .0c is missing files or is damaged and must be repaired/reinstalled. Irrespective of Dead Island requires DirectX 9 .0c or not, but it's the fact that I can't get directx even install or repair itself without the above error.

    SUMMARY:

It seems that it does not matter which version of DirectX, I try to install the result of late is the above error message. This means DirectX 11, 10 and 9 and tried the directx web installer, but also complete installers with the same result. I searched and searched this forum and google searched and found different jobs with the same problem with different fixes the majority, arguing that their antivirus was the cause. Current indicated by DXDIAG DirectX version is version 11.

I apologize if there are several posts like this, but I guess that these errors of DirectX are unique to each problem, so a new position must be made for each error even if the error message is obviously identical the DirectX error logs cannot be.

    MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN:

    1. I've gone the route of software protection and uninstalled all traces of firewall antivirus/spyware and part 3 (which consisted of Avast and Threatfire) and the problem persists. Reinstalling the operating system is never my thing that I would like to know how to solve the problem now, in case this problem from happening again.

    2. I tried restores system as soon as a few months and the problem persists.

    3. I tried (SFC/scannow) System File Checker and found where it is said some of the problems have been resolved, and some could not be corrected. See log. (50 MB)

4 Ran scans using several antivirus software different such as Spybot, Malwarebyte s, Avast, Threatfire and the list goes... and no infections not found and to my knowledge I have never been infected.

    5. tried "Microsoft difficulty it Center Beta" and there investigate and fix everything he could find, which wasn't much, and the problem persists.

6 SP1 is installed and all updates are currently being updated.

    TECHNICAL DATA:

I'm on Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate edition.

    CONCLUSION:

I would like to see this problem get fixed and am willing to try almost anything except the easy way and reinstall the OS so please don't not to do this. Currently, it is a minor problem but could be a major problem if a new version of DirectX is eventually released and would be unable to install it because of the problem obvious. I am looking for any advice, known solutions or useful facts regarding my problem.

I look forward to the answers. =)

I even did a SFC scan, but it says:

"Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them."

    Hello

Thank you for the update on the issue.

Yes, you are right that if SFC scan find damaged files but could not repair so that there could be a chance that some system files are corrupt. So, I suggest you run the DISM commands and then see if it helps you to fix the corruption.

Maintenance of the images of deployment and management (DISM) installs, uninstalls, configures, and updates features and CBS packages in Standard Windows 8 Embedded images (standard 8) offline and offline Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) 4.0 images. The commands and options that are available for servicing an image depending on whether the image is offline or online. All controls operate on a standard 8 offline image. Subsets of commands are available for the maintenance of an operating system.

I suggest you run the commands in elevated command prompt and control below if this can help.

    • Press Windows key and X at the same time.
    • Choose line (Admin) command on the shortcut menu.
    • In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth.

This command is used to check if an image is repairable. Scan the image to check corruption. This operation may take several minutes.

    DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This command is used to repair an image.

Keep us updated on the issue after running DISM commands.
