DirectX 11 preventing me from playing games!

I have Windows 7 32-bit, a 8800 GT 512 MB vid card. When you try to play World of Warcraft and Dragon Age: Origins I crash repeatedly. I don't have these problems when I had XP and directX 9 .0c. My video drivers and BIOS are all up-to-date and current. I have the dxdiag info if it helps. I was wondering if I could go back to the version 9 .0c or uninstall DX11 and then install 9 .0c?

Here are my system specs:
Windows 7 32 bit
4 GB of ram (DDR2 5300)
8800 GT 512 MB vid card
Map its X - Fi XtremeMusic
Card mother Intel D945Psn
Pentium D 820 (2.8 Ghz)
Westinghouse 24 inches (1920 x 1200)

Here's my dxdiag Info:
Any suggestions would help a lot.

Where did you get the impression that DX11 is the source of the problem? WoW does not even use DX11 AFAIK. It uses the version of DirectX that the program to use. Everything I see your Dxdiag is that your sound card drivers are not signed by Microsoft.

What are the errors do you get? Have you tried updating your sound card drivers? You have run the WoW repair tool? I'll also try disabling your sound card, and then launch the game to see if the problem persists. I don't know a lot of people with this kind of sound card.

  • How to play games windowns XP in Windows 7 Ultimate?

I had my computer upgraded to windows xp professional about 2-3 years ago. I have quite a few games I want to play. I installed it, but they do not work. Far cry 2 runs but falls down during loading and just cause works fine but jumps constantly. Harry potter and the goblert of fire turns but jumps also very frequently. However, I managed to get one of my other favorite games to work. It is resident evil 4. I run mode capacity model for windows 2000 with AERO disabled. It works fine but sometimes crashes. I tried my other games work this way, but they won't work no matter what I do. I did much research on google but I have had no success. I have not yet tried to install and run other games besides those that I listed above because of this reason. Yesterday I installed the windows virtual pc and windows xp mode. I installed far cry 2 on it and then disable features of the interrogation. I tried to run, but it crashed when loading and become immune. So I'm back to square one. So, my windows is up-to-date.  I am very frustrated and I really need help. I really miss my old games. Could someone please help me as soon as possible.

    Thank you very much.

    Your sincerely

    Timothy Balla

The vast majority of the games will run on Win7.

-Games 2000 and earlier versions are one is more likely to have problems, but most of them have patches of fan based,.

or the settings for the parameters that will make them run.

-Very old DOS based games require DOS box run on, and many of them have been republished by

Good old games and install with BACK Box, which is easier than learning the in and out of

    using the DOS window.

"I installed windows virtual pc and windows xp mode yesterday."

-I have no experience with the help of virtual machines, but they shouldn't be necessary with Win7.

    - XP Mode does not have 3D acceleration and isn't much good with games.

"my computer upgraded to windows xp professional about 2-3 years ago . .. .also jumps very frequently. "

Sounds like the shift. Caused by using too high settings, or only have not not a proper GPU.

-What graphics processor and processor use your machine?

-Have you installed the latest drivers for your graphics

(download from the mfg and install them manually. Do not use the device or Windows updates)?

-Verify that DirectX is up to date-

Download DirectX end-user Runtime Web Installer from the official Microsoft Download Center

"I installed far cry 2 on it and then disable features of interrogation."

Characteristics of the interrogation? Using the anti-aliasing in game option tends to crash the game.

AA can be used in your control panel of graphics processors, but not in the game.

    -A whole new problem...

MS invented a malware 'special' they call blocking of DRM. It is installed via the Windows updates and

It prevents hundreds of old games disc loading base.

If you have update kb3086255 installed, uninstalled, it will get old games that are blocked

    run again.

I have more details on the DRM blocking in the thread below. There are two other options uninstall vs

    the update in this rant.

  • Qosmio X 300 - 14V - accidents while playing games

Hello! I have some problems with my Toshiba Qosmio X 300 to 14V. While I play games installed on the computer "crushes". The screen goes black and the speakers start droning.
I noticed that if I reinstall windows, driverers and directX it won't happen for a while. I should also mention that this does not happen with ALL games. He especially happenst to games that require more performance of the computer. games like Just Cause 2, Neef For Speed Hot Pursuit, Fallout New Vegas. In one case, he joined a pretty old game, shadows on the surviving ground.

If anyone can find all reasonable explanation please help me. Thanks in advance.

P.S. There are about 4-5 months my HARD drive crashed, so I bought a new one and installed win 7. At that time, I was working with win Vista Edition home premium x 32 with drivers that were included in the recovery package. Before the new HARD drive, I had no problem with the computer. Apart from some overwhelming sometimes because of ovearheating because the ventilation channels were filled with dust.

    Hi donrumata_1,

Maybe the laptop goes down cause overheating? Have you ever tried to clean up your laptop with a jet of compressed air?

This can blow the dust from the cooling fans and only takes a few minutes. In addition it s not necessary to disassemble the laptop so it s very easy and not complicated.
=> [How to clean a Toshiba laptop cooling system | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD7A01ZZ000AR01.htm]

From my own experience I can say s very useful and I do every 3 months. If the laptop is much cooler and quieter because the fan doesn't run so often more.

  • My guard computer shut down unexpectedly when I play games.

My guard computer shut down unexpectedly when I play games. Now it is not always the case, just sometimes. The other day I was playing Sims 3 all day, literally, with the graphics settings maxed out and had no problem. The next day, he would crash as soon as it finished loading, even with the graphics settings at the bottom. Today, it was working fine this morning and now it crashes again. I had the same problem on and off with other games as well, Halo 2, Kings Bounty, UT 3. Here is my system:

OS - Vista Ultimate 32 bit
    Processor: Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2 .66GHz
    RAM - 4 x 1 GB PC6400 DDR2/800
    MB - MSI P7N SLI - FI
    HARD drive - 150 GB x 2 (Raid 0) Raptor 10 k RPM
    PSU - 1000 watts
    GPU - NVidia GeForce 9800GT 1 GB (x 2 in SLI)

And the error I get from Event Viewer:

Filter event with the query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA 'Win32_Processor' AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace '//./root/CIMV2' because of error 0 x 80041003.» Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is resolved.

I got the error almost everyday since I got the computer, about 10 months ago, but it only blocks the computer if I play a game. I tried the 'fix' that removes the WMI event viewer 10 error, but everything done was make sure the error is not logged. I also tried another fix I found me delete the files in the repository, but that no longer works. I also run scans of complete system of virus/malware Spybot Search & Destroy and AVG 8 and verified the updated driver for my hardware. I also ran diagnostic tool memory. Who has good/clean/current. Can it be fixed or what I have to reinstall the OS?

    Hi JerHekSr,

Thank you for using answers Forum.

The first thing that comes to mind would be to check the motherboard manufacturer for an update of the firmware/BIOS.

The error message mentions "loadpercentage > 99' which looks like you are running may at maximum load of the CPU while the game and that is the cause of the crash. You could try a clean boot to prevent the using CPU resources while you play to see if it makes a difference of strtup programs.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. This article describes how to solve problems in Windows Vista by performing a clean boot. This article also describes how to start the Windows Installer service and how to reset the computer so that it starts as usual.

Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.

If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.

    b. click Start collapse this image enlarge this image, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

The collapse of this image to this image if you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click continue .

    c. under the general tab, click Selective startup , and then clear the Load Startup items check box. (The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on disable all .

Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    e. click OK , and then click restart .

Step 2: Enable half the services

    a. follow steps 1a and 1B to start the System Configuration utility.

    b. click on the Services tab and then click to select the hide all Microsoft services check box.

    c. Click to select half of the check boxes in the Service list.

    d. click OK and then click restart .

Step 3: Determine whether the problem returns

If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have initially enabled in the Service list.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the Service list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one service is selected in the list of services , and you the problem persists, the service selected the cause of the problem. Go to step 6. If no service is causing this problem, go to step 4.

Step 4: Enable half of the startup items

    a. perform a clean boot by repeating step 1.

    b. click on the Startup tab and then click to select half of the check boxes in the startup item list.

    c. click OK , and then click restart .

Step 5: Determine whether the problem returns

If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have originally selected in the startup item list.

    Hello Alexia.

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

You made any hardware or software changes on your computer before the show?

This problem may occur if the settings or device drivers are corrupt.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
Set the screen resolution and other display settings and check the issue.
    Refer to this article:

  • Satellite L855 - 14 H - green texture while playing games

    Hello!
First of all, I want to apologize for my bad English skills, because I am from Latvia.
Allright, enough small talk - so I bought the new computer L855 - 14H. It came without OS, so I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x 64. Everything was fine until I tried to play games - I have lived, that I can not play, because I get this 'green texture corruption' after 3-5 minutes of play. Screen everything freezes and I can't do anything. I spent 3 days trying to get this thing done.

I was installing, reinstalling video card and the same OS. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do next.
    Please help me!
    I'm really desperate!

It is not easy to say why this is happening.
Have you installed the Toshiba download page display driver?
When you watch DVDs or videos is everything is OK?

This happens to you when you play all the games or simply with a certain game?
Is machine hot enough when this happens?

  • Satellite Pro M70 overheating when playing games or watching DVDs

    Hello world

my laptop (Satellite Pro M70) overheating regularly, especially when playing games or watching DVDs.
Initially the cooling gets really hard, then the laptop would become hot, and shortly after that it stops completely. I ran it about 50% cpu power (DVD mode) for some time, which helps a little, but makes it much slower games.

I do not know whence this problem, you have any ideas what I could do?

Don't know if it's important, my graphics chip is the ATI Mobility Radeon X 700.

    Thanks in advance

    > My laptop (Satellite Pro M70) is overheating regularly himself, especially when playing games or watching DVDs.
Still is it playing games and watching DVD movies to emphasize material for portable computers.
Devices such as the CPU and GPU run with maximum efficiency and produce a lot of heat.
This could lead to problems of overheating, especially if the cooling modules n t work properly.

    > I do not know whence this problem; you have any ideas what I could do?
I think that the cooling modules don't cool the laptop properly because fans could not run with maximum efficiency because of the dust and debris.

The same thing happened to me. I just cleaned the vents using a jet of compressed air. This jet of compressed air can be ordered from different computer resellers and it s a professional tool to perform this cleanup.

I think you should test this.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A500-1 - stops when I play games

    Hello!

I'm having some serious heat and fan with my Toshiba laptop problems. First data:
The laptop is on and a half a year old. His turning point under Windows 7 64-bit. I cleaned it about 2 days ago and many times before (dust in the fan cooling etc..). Toshiba drivers are up-to-date and I already use a cooling block.

When I play games sometimes, my laptop suddenly stops immediately, due to overheating problems. The strange thing is that, when this happens, the fan is not nearly at maximum speed. When I restart the computer after such a judgment, the fan fire suddenly at maximum speed, until the laptop even once cooled.

I started watching my CPU and GPU, and my fan speed temperatures while playing games, and I recognized, that the temperatures increase normally, but most of the time the fan remains at its current speed. Even if Toshiba PC Health Monitor shows, that the fan speed goes from 40% to 90% the fan is actually at a low speed.

From time to time it happens that the fan suddenly triggers her speed, but it lowers again after 1 or 2 minutes, while the indicated fan speed remains constantly at 90%. Somehow, I'd understand if the laptop would be closed despite the entirely fan running, but insufficient fan controlling? Come on Toshiba.

In addition this problem worsens every day. Anyone who has any suggestions to solve this problem?

    Greetings
    Thomas?

    Hey Buddy,

Interesting story, but how do I clean the fan exactly? Did you use a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans?
Another reason could be the display driver itself. As you can see in other threads if you are using a Toshiba display driver they might cause of overheating because they don t have a protection against overheating and other thermal management. So it is important to use only Toshiba display drivers.

What version of BIOS you have installed right now?

AFAIK BIOS version latest contains another management fan so I'll try to update. You can download the latest version here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads

In general the fan will be controlled automatically and you can t he control you. Just make sure you use power plan to high performance for the games.

Can you please tell us what drivers have updated you and why? What was wrong with the old drivers?

When you start your next portable speakers test time using preinstalled Toshiba diagnostic tool and post the result here.

What about the temperature of the laptop. 80 c is high temperature but still not critical, and if your mobile phone is placed correctly on the desktop and the cooling fans are not blocked I think you can continue to play the games.
Before the games close all unnecessary applications and uses laptop computer on power plan to high performance.

  • Cannot watch DVDs or play games on Equium A60

    Hello

I updated my BIOS about three months ago because I had problems with ati2dvag.dll, and that seems to have solved the problem. I tried every fix I could find for this particular BSOD including change the driver for my PCI bridge to PCI. Only the BIOS update seems to have who cured for good.

However, I have since discovered that I can't watch DVDs on my laptop, or play games with 3D content. I use WinDVD for watching DVDs, and it keeps bringing a message telling me to lower my screen resolution or to change to a lower refresh rate. However, when I do that it still does not play the DVD.

Trying to run a game (in this case Lemmings Revolution), the game started to load to a black screen before giving me the error message "not detected 3D accelerator.

Any help would be welcome, because I can't work out what to do!

    Hello

Start the DirectX on you laptop.

    How?
Click Start - open 'RUN' - type dxdiag

Then you should see the DirectX diagnostic tool. Go to the view tab and check all the options if they are enabled. (Acceleration of direct draw, Direct 3D acceleration, etc.)
You can also start the tests.

  • When I'm playing games like Fifa07 Satellite M40-129 freezes

When ia´m to play games like Fifa07 my phone freezes from time to time. I have a Satellite M40-129 with the latest version of the driver 6.14.10.6525.

I get the error message (German): http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/2337/grafikkartentreiberdf9.png

    Dxdiag: http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/2250/grakatreiberup4.jpg

Isn't there anything I can do to avoid those who freezes.

    Hi Sascha

Is the laptop freezes only when you play this special game or it freezes by other applications, games, etc?
Don t know exactly why it happens, but if the laptop freezes only during playback the Fifa07 then it might be a problem of compatibility of graphics driver with this game.

Do you use the graphics driver for the Toshiba page?

  • Can not play games on Satellite A60

I the A60 (Mobile Radeon 7000 IGP) and cannot play games on it. Particularly annoying is that I freeze in second life with a gray screen. I have contacted ATI who told me to look here but I have the updated driver from this site. Someone at - it ideas?

    Hello

First of all, I think that you can not expect that you will be able to play the latest games because of limitation technique graphics card. Only thing that you can do right now is to install the driver designed by the manufacturer of the graphics card or downloaded from some independent sources.

It will require your graphics card to run faster, but I hope you won't have overheating problems.
