    Hello

I use Windows 7 Pro.  I have a Seagate external USB disk causing a "Non-system disk error" at startup.
I had the same problem with a Clickfree drive.
The problem occurs on my other PC with different versions of Windows.
How can I get my computer to start and not give me this error message for my backup drive?
At startup (when the drive disconnected), I get a screen of BACK indicating "Client Mac Addr."... GUID..., DHCP. "I think it's looking for a disk boot from.
I just need to boot from the internal hard drive.
    Thank you
    AS

USB external references aren't desingned to be connected on startup, you must also use the safely remove the procedure and disconnect the USB key before closing.

If you get such a screen "Client Mac Addr... etc" at the start (with usb unplugged), looks like you are using a very old motherboard. If the system starts only with connected usb, then your initial installation of victory is defective or damaged

  • Transfer of recovery system of USB drive to DVD disk

I have read the forums and I see that you can transfer DVD USB recovery but can you make the USB on a DVD. Is this possible? I'm a computer tech and not an average user, so I can understand if it's complicated.

I was in the hospital when I did the recovery on USB disk and was not thinking. He saved me trying to repartition my hard drive and inadvertently deleted my recovery partition. I didn't have access to blank DVD media at the time and when I got home, I wanted to have a copy on DVD for the Image. I am currently using a 32 GB SanDisk USB flash drive and won't eat up to 12 GB of space for recovery.

I'm more concerned it's complicated to do because I am an advanced user. If you can help me, I would appreciate it.

P.S. I love all your products. I only use HP printers and laptops and I am in love with this computer for HP Pavilion series laptop g my sister is for me off of eBay. You guys rock!

Or you can call HP to order a set of recovery disks. Usually around $17. 800-474-6836.

You can usually order via a link on your models also support page. It will be in the list of drivers/software.

  • My laptop says "system on the disk volume is damaged," How can I secure my data?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720, which I had for about 5 years now. Recently he lights up and after trying to do the Startup Repair, I found that the system on the Disk Volume is damaged. I can't do anything on the command line because he said my laptop needs to restart whenever I get something. Is there a simple way, I save all of the data on the laptop?

    Hello

You can remove the hard > put in a USB hard drive case > plug it into another computer > attempt to read data from there.

Or, you can make a disk bootable operating system "Knoppix".

It is a single block of working operating system on a disk that uses your machine hardware failures (as long as the damage that you have are NOT appeared to the Dell hardware; hardware must always work)

but always after some time, the problem came again...

So I wonder what problem is that and what can I do to solve this problem?
Is a software or hardware problem?

    Hello

For me, this looks a bit like a HARD drive problem.
I guess that HARD drive developed and the hardware error.

Have you checked if the HARD drive is listed and recognized in the BIOS?
    Do this!

If the HARD drive is not visible in the BIOS then it would mean that the HARD drive is dead and must be replaced.

Even if the HARD drive would be listed in the BIOS, you test another new HARD drive to check if the problem is not related to the failure of HARD drive.

  • Lost/Missing/Deleted - file "c:\Windows\repair\system.

    Laptop: gateway MX3225 / XP Home Edition / 1 GB Ram / fully updated to SP3 / M 1.5 G CPU

Had a virus and removed TI rebooted for system, black screen of death, managed to install Recovery Console, use step 1 by recovering a corrupted registry, ended up with missing or corrupt 'system32\config\system file', and looked in the repair directory there is no file in my "c:\windows\repair" folder that says 'system '. I have no way to use a cd drive or a USB on the laptop. Do I have to redo a file 'repair\system' from scratch, or is it on the hard drive in another directory? I read each article of Microsoft on the corrupted file / lack of issue, but there is no explanation for the repair file to miss.

Again miss me the real "system" file in the directory "c:\windows\repair".

I would write my own file system for this last reference if I do another repair of system like this, it would save a lot of my time.

    Any help will be appreciated

    Hey

  • Keyboard does not not in repair system screens or install Windows

Hi, I have had fairly recently built myself a new pc and bought a copy of Windows 7 on the offer of the student they were running. I got all this and running for ages now, installed games, played against them, it is fully functional.

Recently I wanted to install the software for my tv TNT acquisition card and knew exactly what model it was, as it was on the bottom pci on the motherboard slot, I had to take it apart to look at the sticker on the underside. I put the power off, came out the card checked, put to the back of the card to and attempt to start back up.

Nothing will do, he gives up and restarts on the blobs little swirling new fantasies of the title of color screen. So I launched in repair system, as recommended by the computer.

Here's the issue, it appears with a recovery system, with a drop-down list Options dialog not input method keyboard, which I can't access, because the mouse and keyboard don't work, they work very well up to this point, but once here, he's just ignoring me.

Now, I tried this with the connection USB or PS/2 keyboard, no difference. Same story if I try to boot from my drive of W7, comes to a different language options page, and I can't do anything.

Any ideas? Council of State, I am quite puzzled. Help, please.

    Matt

Very old topic, but met the same behavior recently.  I was preparing to decide the mobo was made, but I remembered that my devices have been connected on the usb 3.0 ports.  Win 7 repair does not appear like this (on my PC anyway).  Put the two USB 2.0 ports, all very well once again

  • "Found root system on the disk volume is damaged."

Hi, have a Dell laptop Inspiron 1720 under Vista. Suddenly the screen turned blue, my wife tells me, and she tried to restart. A message passed very quickly, and she was unable to read. When I tried to restart the screen has come to give the option to start in safe mode, guest, with the network and other options, including to start normally. I tried each of the options, and none worked so I am unabe to run chkdisk or system restore because I can not get the prompt. I used my boot drive and ran the repair, not good ran, it ran and said the system should restart, he did, but windows could not load.

I ran a few other test with the F2 and F12 keys-drive unit as much as I've been able to say all items being passed. I took the vista disc and tried to do a clean installation, the computer wouldn't complete installation, it just hangs on the system configuration. After running another one of the diagnosis he was one of the tests that gave information

" Root cause found" "" system on the disk volume is damaged".

What is this and can I replace the hard drive for this problem?

  • Windows 8 How to recover without a recovery USB disk or a disc?

Hello, about a month ago, I rebooted my computer in windows 8, caused by viruses, and I did it without creating a recovery on a USB drive. Also, I bought the computer from best buy so I have not received a disc of 8 recovery of 64-bit Windows is restarted. Trying to repair and restart, the computer turns on, but head to the blue menu screen and tells me that I am missing the drivers. Is it possible that I can download a recovery on a different computer from windows disk 8 and use it to mine? If this does not work, is there a way to download a recovery on the windows site drive? Thanks I hope you can answer my questions.

Most computers come with an internal partition on them with the recovery information.  This allows you to go back to "factory fresh" conditions, as a new installation.

How to go to you it's different on different computers.  My Sony Vaio all-in-one PC that I got from BestBuy last year with Windows 8, has a small pin hole I have to press with a paper clip to enter recovery mode.

If this does not work (or your computer does not have this option), you will need a recovery disk.  The recovery discs are unique to the computer, so you should get from the manufacturer.

I helped a friend a few weeks ago and Dell sent him a DVD disc of free recovery, the next day Fed - ex.  But my Sony Vaio here, (which just returned after the internal hard drive field itself of pasta), Sony wanted me to pay 60 million dollars for a CD. I can't use anyway because this computer has no CD drive (then they were told to go buy a lol... but that's another story).

My recommendation or you is so ask the manufacturer or get with BestBuy.  In my case, because the computer has been less than a year when this Vaio hard drive died, BestBuy geek squad made replacement under warranty on it for me, free.  I had no recovery either by car (although it would not have helped because the internal hard disk was physically dead).

When I came back today, do you think better :), I created a recovery USB disk

  • Dynabook SS 1700MY - ' alert: System protection USB key set failure.

    So here's the story:
I accidentally tickled my friend that is using his laptop and he spilled his Coke into the laptop.
I told her to turn it off, and then he wiped his spill in the keyboard.

Then, when he tried to open it. He opened Fortunately, but it says:
    Alert: System protection failure.
    Set the USB key:

Me and my friend do not know what it is. Just reply to us if you know what is this 'USB key '.

We do not know what it is, so please tell us if you know what is the USB

Dynabook SS 1700MY is not known to me... I guess this isn't a European model for Toshiba laptop...

The error message looks like a BIOS password. It seems that the security of the system has been compromised.

Unknown BIOS password can be removed from the laptop user but can be removed by the Toshiba authorised service provider available in your area.
So you will need to return the unit to an ASP for a password reset.

  • System Restore Startup disk

Hello: I have a registry problem complicated that I can't get an answer to, and I would like to create a System Restore Startup disk. How can I do this? I am running windows xp (I think that sp3) on a lenovo thinkpad t61.

I can't open the *.exe files and think it's a registry problem. I tried several ways to solve this problem and have not been able to do.

    I'm running a lenovo thinkpad t61.

I am referring to the recovery disc.

You don't say what you tried, but EXE File Association Doug Knox fix usually does the trick: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

It would be interesting to analyze both of these free applications:
    MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
    SUPERAntiSpyware

It would be wise to say away from generic 'system restore boot floppies', unless you are sure of what you are doing.  The Thinkpad T61 should have associated with the application of "Rescue and recovery" of Lenovo in a hidden hard drive partition.  See the Thinkpad T61 Service and troubleshooting guide, Chapter 4: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67885.

Rather than provide a disk recovery or a Windows disc with your computer, Lenovo provides simpler methods to accomplish the tasks usually associated with these discs. The files and programs for these alternative methods are on your hard drive, which avoids having to find a misplaced drive and problems related to the use of an incorrect version of the disc.

The full backup of all files and programs that Lenovo preinstalled on your computer is located in a hidden protected area, or a partition of the hard drive. Although that hidden in the partition backups consume space hard disk. Therefore, during the audit of the capacity of the hard drive under Windows, you might note that the full capacity of the drive seems to be smaller than expected. This discrepancy is explained by the content of the hidden partition.
