USB-6008 appears in Device Manager but not in MAX or Labview
I use Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and you want to use a USB-6008 in LabVIEW 8.5.1. The device appears under data acquisition devices in the Windows Device Manager. The flashing on the device, but the device does not appear in the Explorer of Measurement & Automation 8.7.1. am I missing something?
He doubts.
First, check the easy things... to refresh the list of devices to MAX and see if it comes to that. I'm guessing you've already tried this, but it never hurts to check.
My bet is that it's a database corrupted Max. This happens from time to time. Usually when I see it, the 'Dev1' always appears in LabVIEW if you plop down constant DAQ hardware or control.
There are tools and processes to erase and start over with a new database, but in my experience, the best way to resolve it is simply update or reinstall MAX.

Hard drive shows up in Device Manager, but not in 'my computer '.
I have a Samsung HD103UI SATA hard drive in a dual docking station Thermaltake Black Widow hard drive. I connected it to my laptop via a USB port. It appears in Device Manager and says it's working properly. It however does not appear in my computer. I go to disk management and presents itself, he says "Dynamic Disk 1, invalid. If I right click on the drive, it asks if I want to convert it to base, but if I do that I will lose my data. I hooked this same configuration of my XP machine and it worked fine, no problem. How can I fix without basic conversion and how do I get it to appear in my computer?
End to this problem, that I had the hard drive on the xp machine unload everything out of it and reformat the hard drive on my Vista laptop. I did once it worked fine and I can move it back from my xp and vista machine. It's the only way I could get this drive to work.

Hi Frank,.
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
If I understand you correctly, the external USB hard drive (HDD) appears in the control panel but does not seem to be detected in my computer screen. I will certainly help you to question, however, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.
(a) what is the brand and model number. the USB HDD?
(b) has detected before HARD drive in my computer screen? If so, did you do changes on the computer before this problem?
(c) that you get an unrecognized USB device notification error message?
The unit is probably go up at the same point one of the partitions and thus becoming "invisible". In
in order to further diagnose the issue, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

Logical disk management does not recognize a slave drive
I installed an internal HD as a slave. The BIOS sees the drive, Western Digital Lifeguard sees the drive (it checks OK) with the appropriate drive letter, PMagic sees the drive before starting, but the logical disk manager does not recognize the drive or the drive letter.
Using Windows XP, SP3 with latest updates
Hello
- The hard drive is recognized in another computer?
If this isn't the case, then the problem could be the hard drive itself. If he is found, then the problem is in your computer. In this case, run the diskpart.exe utility.
Use the list partition command and see if the partition is detected. If so, then I suggest you to format the drive in diskpart.
However, take a return of all data on the hard drive before the format by plugging it into another computer. Help with backup data, see
Backup: what, how, where
http://www.Microsoft.com/protect/data/backup/about.aspx
To use the Diskpart.exe utility, follow these steps:
1. type diskpartand press ENTER to open the diskpart tool.
2. type list diskand press ENTER. A list of available hard disks.
3. type select disk =[n]
n s Specifies the number of disc the disc to receive the focus.
4. type list partition
This command displays the partitions listed in the table to partition on the current drive.
5. type select partition =[d]This command selects the specified partition and gives it the focus.
d s Specifies the drive letter or mount point path of the partition to receive the focus.
6. type format drive: / FS: NTFS/Quick
For more information about commands, see
A Description of the Diskpart command-line utility
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/300415
Now you should be able to see the slave drive in Solution Explorer.

Thank you. I followed your instructions and it worked. I am amazed by these forums. No matter what a person has problems, there is someone out there who has the knowledge and the willingness to share with the less informed. Thanks again for you information.

My problem is very similar to the one raised here:
However, the OP in this question unfortunately never had answer to his question. When I plug my Xbox 360 controller on my laptop, my computer recognizes it as a device, but does not recognize it as a game controller. Instead, my device is listed under a category called "Other devices", and the drivers are not installed (he gets the little warning sign yellow after the icon).I tried to install the correct 'Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories' (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows (Windows 7 64-bit)) and direct the machine to install its drivers from there, but nothing helps.I've tried right-clicking on the device, by clicking 'Uninstall', out in him plugging, uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories, restarted my computer and each unique combination of these things.I tried to talk to an Ambassador of Microsoft, who told me to update the driver and manually make a 'human interaction device', but unfortunately it did not work.I called Support of Windows games, who gave me information from these links:support.Microsoft.com/kb/908888support.Microsoft.com/kb/906347Outside of download the drivers manually in the form of 'Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories' (which I already have), I wasn't able to try all of the hotfixes listed in the guides, because my camera is not listed as a joypad or human interface device. It is simply listed as "Xbox 360 Joypad" and it is listed under the heading "other devices."It seems that there is just something wrong with my USB and it's just is not installing drivers properly, but this isn't the case. I plugged many other devices, including an iPod, a mouse and an external HARD drive, which all had their drivers properly installed and works great.I also know that it is not a problem with the xbox controller, that I plugged into another laptop (also Windows 7 64-bit), as well as pilots very well on the other laptop.I'm really puzzled by this situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but please do not repeat the information or links I listed here, or who was in the last question which I quoted above. Thank you for your help.UPDATE: I finally got to work. Everything is beautifully detailed in this video from Youtube:
Here's what you do:1. plug your device and go to Device Manager2 right click on everything that your computer recognizes your device as (for me, it was listed under 'Other devices' and had a yellow warning sign on this subject) and click on "Uninstall".3. disconnect your device4. If you have not already done so, download and install the appropriate for your device 'Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories' program5. plug your device back on and go back to Device Manager6 right-click on everything that your computer recognizes your device as (for me, it was listed under 'Other devices' and had a yellow warning sign on this subject), but this time click on "update driver software".7. click on "browse computer driver software.8. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.9. Select "Microsoft Common Controller" and then select your device. Have it install this driver. From there on, it should work on.If you have any questions, my email is * address email is removed from the privacy *. -

I bought a new computer (custom build) and Frys Electronics put it together for me. Disk 0 is a 128 GB SSD, 1 disk is a SATA 2 TB drive, and disc 2 is a 1 TB SATA drive. Readers of 0 and 1 have been configured correctly when I installed Windows 8 but Drive 1 was not found\initialized. Player 2 does not appear in the disk management window, but when I click on properties on any drive, and then on the "hardware" tab, the drive appears. If I can get windows to find it, I can go configure manually. DiskPart cannot find disc 2 in the 'LIST' command and when I get in car 2 on other commands that require a number of disc, nothing happens.
What should I do?
Thank you.
I ran an old Western Digital (the two SATA drives are WD) diagnosis and there are 1 OK to drive. I tested it and it doesn't have a writing that test a few zeros. I thought that it was a bad drive and I must return to the seller. The next morning I tried the WD diagnosis again and this time he passed. The app then allowed me to format it and it assign a drive letter.
It seems to be OK now, but I'm not load all the files on it again.
Thank you all for your support.

According to disk management and Device Manager, I don't have a C in any case, a HD partition at all. (I mean on an internal hard drive) So of course, I have a HD since im typing this now. Laughing out loud. the computer seems to know it's got a HD, because it starts very well, but he can't see it. In addition, I can see it in Explorer and see all the folders and files, but that's all. Everything works as usual. What can I do to fix this?
I have Windows Vista Home Premium, 232,88 GB Hitachi HD, NTFS, 4 GB of ram and sound on an HP laptop. I tried to restore windows, ran several antivirus scans and scans of mal-ware/spyware/ad-ware - all came up with nothing and all updates, still the problem persists.
Have you updated your BIOS? This could be a long shot, but have you tried to run the tool it Fix ?
