Replaced my almost complete 1TBdrive with a 2 TB SS drive - it quickly filled with "other".

Any ideas how to solve this problem: I have a late 2008 MacBook Pro running 10.11.5.  Several months ago, I replaced its 1 TB drive (almost full) with a new 2 TB SSD.  Within weeks he filled (I suspect the duplication for some reason any of some of my data). When I check the storage under 'about this Mac' it says 1.43 TB is the 'other '.  I don't know what fills my disc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would like to replace HP Pavilion 14-v044tx HDD with SSD, but I can't seem to find SSD compatibility information.

Here are a few questions and I hope that some of you could give advice:

    1. the list of SSD compatibility?

2 may I know if it is compatible with Samsung Evo 840 250 Go?

    3. is there a guide on how to open the laptop?

    4. it will affect my warranty?

    Thanks and receive a response.

    Rgds,

    Here is the Manual:

    Manual

Replacement hard drive is on Page 51. The good news is Yes, you can install the Samsung 840 Evo. It is the one I would recommend actually. There is no list because fundamentally, the laptop is compatible with any 2.5 inches wide 7 or 9.5 mm thick SSD or HDD.

The bad news is to replace the average hard drive almost complete disassembly of the laptop. Access to the bottom door exposes that RAM, no hard drive. And Yes, if you're wrong in the process that HP will stand behind the warranty.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 copies are almost completely black

Copies of the Officejet Pro 8600 are almost completely black.  The party central - perhaps an ich in width - is somewhat readable.  Printed documents are okay. This printer is 2.5 years old and worked fine in what concerns all the until today.  Thank you.

Hello @Tim1943 and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you use in the copy output problems.  I would like to help!

I would recommend starting with a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I suggest you then plug the power to the printer into a different wall outlet.

Another recommendation would be updated the firmware of the printer:

Printer updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), 6600 (H711) Officejet and Officejet 6700 Premium (H711) e-all-in-One Printer Series

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • How to clean my disk overloaded space in C drive? Almost complete. Says "low disk space". Thank you in advance.

How to clean my disk overloaded space in C drive?  Almost complete.  Says "low disk space".  Thank you in advance.

I'd be interested to see a report of Disk Defragmenter. Open Disk Defragmenter and click analysis. Select view report, and then click Save as and save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents folder. Open the file, and place the cursor anywhere in the file, select Edition, select all to select all the text and copy and paste into the body of your message. To do this, before you run Disk Defragmenter because it is more informative.

Follow a few basic maintenance note.

1.5 the tool provided in Windows to remove unwanted temporary files is disk cleanup. To access this tool select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. You must then run Disk Defragmenter.

1.6 using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before that the error occurred initially, do not use this option.

1.7. If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

1.8. a better alternative program to disk cleanup is cCleaner. The freeware version works well for a home user and must be downloaded from Piriform program provider:
    http://www.CCleaner.com/download

1.9. When you open cCleaner you will see four large icons to the left of the window. Here's cleaner them, registry, tools, and Options. For routine maintenance, you normally acceding Cleaner (this is not the mentioned registry cleaner later). When using for the first time only, you can accept the default settings.

1.10. some observations on the parameters. On my computer, I do not have the boxes before the passwords saved selected. In a less secure environment, you could check this option and set cCleaner to run automatically when the computer starts. You also cannot check the boxes in front of shortcuts from the Start Menu, desktop shortcuts and historical form. You must check the boxes according to your needs. Bad first time options causes irritating no disasters.

1.11. the second icon that you see when you open cCleaner's registry. A reserve many experienced users have about cCleaner, it's that it comes with a registry cleaner. This tool should not be used. By using a registry cleaner, but it is the case, provides significant benefits and there is always the risk of creating insoluble system errors, which cannot be resolved by reinstalling the operating system and all that that implies. You will avoid any possible problem of not not by clicking on the Save icon.

1.12 the third icon that you see when you open cCleaner is tools. If you click this icon, it gives you access a routine plus service options. The first two tools are uninstalled and commissioning. I do not use these tools, preferring to use other software options. The third tool is the restoration of the system, which is covered in the next paragraph. The fourth tool is Wiper Drive and you will find reviews about this tool later

1.13 removing the system restore points can be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments. This makes it easier to hold the restore points for long periods without keeping large unwanted files, whose inflexible approach to disk cleanup fails to offer.

1.14. you can't remove the last restore point using the cleaning disc or cCleaner. If the last restore point contains malicious software, you can turn off and then turn on system restore. This has the disadvantage that restore all points are removed when you want to keep more restore points that are not infected. How to get round this problem is to create a new restore point when you are satisfied with your computer is free of malware and then remove the infected restore point.

1.15. in normal circumstances, you probably rarely need to use Driver wiper. However, there are situations like if you gave the computer to someone else, then the tool may be useful. Please note that the wiper Drive, opening, generates a warning message, which should not be dismissed lightly. Using wiper Drive for the wrong reason could have serious consequences.

1.16 the fourth icon is labeled Options. Many configuration options are available here. You can configure cCleaner to run when start you but remember that this will slow down the boot. Another setting allows you to include or exclude cookies. Yet another allows files named to exclude.

  • The complete G71 with Preload file recovery partition

Recovery Partition of the G71 almost complete with record Preload that contains only of base.wim. This can be removed?

Do not delete it. The file is required if you need to recover system on your laptop. Of course if you have recovery disks it is not really necessary, but the regular procedure would be to use HP Recovery Manager in your Start menu on 'Remove the recovery Partition'.

The score works more quickly to reinstall Windows recovery disks is beneficial. Also the partition is installed at the factory using only the bare minimum space required for recovery files. It will always appear almost complete behavior to normal.

I have Windows 7 Starter and watched a video and my Internet Explorer froze, so I forced stop.  Now my USER profile has disappeared, replaced by a generic user with access to NOTHING profile.  I can find my user profile on the COMPUTER, but I can't switch back to my own USER profile (not "switch user" on the closure.)  Can anyone help?

    Hello

As the Group Policy Editor is not available in the Home Premium version and the version of Windows 7 starter, the other way to disable is through the registry editor.

Important: this article contains information about how to edit the registry. Make sure that you back up the registry before you edit it. Make sure you know how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up, restore, and modify the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    Back up the registry

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

    1) click Start, type regedit.exe in the find dialog box or run and press enter.

    (2) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion------policies------system

    (3) create a DWORD (32-bit) value named HideFastUserSwitching with a right click on the right side of the editor and choice New > DWORD(32bit) value.

    (4) set data HideFastUserSwitching to 0 to disable the fast user switching.

    (5) in the future if you want to enable the fast user switching, set data HideFastUserSwitchingto 1.

After, log to see the changes. Fast user switching must be disabled after completing the steps above.

Can I replace a Keyboard(Non-Backlit) with a backlit keyboard in my laptop HP Pavilion 17-e020dx?

    Hello

This series of computers portable your (and many others) have only 1 option for keyboard:

Full-size, island-keyboard with numeric pad in black or white finish. Gesture of support: MultiTouch gestures
activated, two fingers to scroll and pinchzoom as default
    Faucets, active by default
Support for Windows 8 modern trackpad

Therefore, you can not replace the keyboard only, you must also replace the motherboard that supports a backlit keyboard. If necessary, it would be a very expensive upgrade.

    Kind regards.

The only keyboard won't work. You need the motherboard on your machine a light CONNECTORS for the keyboard. I do not think that your computer has this type of motherboard you are looking for a good first montherboard.

  • How to replace a bad IDE disk with a USB Flash drive system - and have all the functionality of XP Pro SP3

How to replace a bad IDE disk with a USB Flash drive system - and have all the functionality of XP Pro SP3
Given a PC without hard disk...
How can you use a flash drive instead?
So, indeed, the USB key works as an SSD...
I saw online options that gives partial functionality of the system... and an option that is more than $100 (more than the system's worth)...
None of these options are acceptable in the circumstances.
It is an effort to create a machine for a particular use, built from a recycled pc for which hard drive was removed and destroyed by the original owner...
The criterion is that it must work just like it was a mechanical drive running xp pro sp3 with all updates, etc...
    Thanks for any help.

You can not install XP on a Flash as his unsupported drive. Your only two options are a traditional hard drive or Solid State Drive (SSD).

  • Windows Media Center almost completely broken and ehRec.exe take 50% CPU

My windows media center is broken. Part, but probably not all, the problem is ehRec.exe uses up to 50% of the CPU, which means that it is completely connected because I have a computer with dual-core CPU.

Do not record scheduled recordings. Sometimes, I can't even in media center. It becomes inadmissible. Usually just after a reboot, I can enter (which starts the record if we were waiting) but not if I first have to do other things. It seems that my media center just kaput.

I got this incomprehensible message in the case where the application log

The description for the event (0) in Source (Media Center Scheduler) ID is not found. The local computer may not have the information necessary registry or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the option/auxsource = flag to retrieve this description; For more information, see Help and Support. The following information is part of the event: unable to write the backup file...

There is not any other journal entries of interest, with the exception of those who say that I started a record while the show was in progress. I get those now, when I start media center just after the restart, because he wasn't already record where it should be.

EhRec.exe sometimes stop looping. Not this time. It was looping when I started to write this and it's always a loop.

Is it possible to reinstall completely media library? I tried to run Setup, but it blocks half the time with ehRec.exe pounding to the CPU. I see that other people have the problem of ehRec.exe (beginning around mid-August), but it doesn't seem to be a real solution to this problem.

Remove any recent update of microsoft .net framework. I had this problem several times. The first time, he ended up reinstalling the entire system. Although I suspect that the recent update of the .net framework is the culprit, I was not skilled enough to remove it first.  This time I look for answers elsewhere and no one really had a clue. Then I removed the .net framework 4 client update and voila, problem solved. I hope it will work for you, if you don't have not messed around first with other parts of the system too. I tried scannow /sfc solution, but really... This only works if you have the most recent operating system on the disk. Many have download updates, service pack, Microsoft and therefore, cannot provide a disk with the appropriate files. Anyway, it is not the solution. Apparently, the way of downloading these updates of .net framework is important. I don't know the solution for a correct installation of updates, but do not know that the 50% CPU problem is solved EVERY time, repealing the last update. Hope this helps someone. I have certainly spent enough time and lost enough when microsoft updates, disable the operation of my computer. Unfortunately, it's the solutions we try that sealed the fate of our readers. I lost 15mos of professional documents in my records of e-mail in September of my attempts stupid to solve this problem, after that a previous update of .net framework caused my duty reinsall windows.

  • ProBook 455 G1: Replacement AMD A4 4300 m with something faster

    Good evening everyone,

I would like to know if it is possible to replace AMD A4 4300 m with something more powerful and if so, what would be the fastest CPU compatible.
Have not tried if my A4 is welded, it is still under warranty for 2 more months.

    Some of my ProBook features:
motherboard: 194th HP  (requested by aida64)
    CPU: AMD A4 4300 m (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-A4-Series%20A4-4300M.html)
               Socket FS1 (FS1r2)
Graphics: ATI HD8750m 2 GB with dedicated dual graphics card
    RAM: 4 GB

I was thinking something like this: AMD A10 5750 m

    It has the same FS1r2.

There was a G1 455 ProBook with this particular A10 and dedicated graphics card, I have, but I have not found the name of motherboards...

I thank very you much for all the simple tips and information.

It's the top processor of the page:

    AMD A8 - 5550M, 35W, Quad Cores, 3.1 GHz/2.1 GHz 4 MB L2 cache/NVS 8550 G

    Here is the Manual:

    Manual

See p. 81 for the replacement of the processor. Your AMD integrated graphics will 7420G to 8550G and switchable dedicated video chip will remain the same. The A10 - 5750M has the same socket and it MIGHT work, but we can't really say. We know that the APU types listed in manual work will BE for you.

Before I did the upgrade of the processor that I might consider 8 GB of RAM and an SSD, while AMD processors tend to be a fairly reasonable price compared to Intel.
