  I'm confused about the requirements for Flex Builder 3.

  If I understand correctly BEA Workshop and both Eclipse IDE-based IBM Rational Software Architect.
  
  I need to Eclipse and BEA Workshop and IBM Rational Software to use Flex Builder, or just an eclipse based IDE?

  You don't need BEA Workshop or IBM Rational Software. I think it means that you can install the plugin eclipse/BEA Workshop on top of Flex Builder/IBM Rational Software.

  If you choose to Flex Builder standalone, then you have even eclipse. If you choose Flex Builder Plug-ins you need eclipse.

  I am new to the world of Adobe as a developer and have been using Flex Builder 2. After not seeing just the launch of CS3, I noticed no mention of Flex Builder CS3.
  
  What is the roadmap for Flex Builder? Is there a replacement within the family of products of the CS3 or Flex Builder is going to be around for a while?
  
  I am interested in the creation of RIA from the point of view of a Web Developer and find that Flash provides the wrong metaphor.

  Hello

  Flex is not form part of the Creative Suite as it is a complete development platform and not a platform for design. Its for developers only if it does not form a part of the Creative Suite. What I've heard, is that Adobe will come out with Flex Builder 3 last part of this year or next year. Don't worry, Flex is a great thing, and with Apollo coming out, I don't think Adobe will soon cease it.

• Where can I get a copy of Flex Builder 3?

  I had to rebuild my laptop, but I can't find my disk (I can have downloaded previously) for Flex Builder 3.

  With the help of my serial number, I tried to download Flex Builder 4, but it does not have my serial number.

  I am currently using Flex Build 4 (in test mode) pointing to the Flex 3 SDK for.

  But I need to get a copy of Flex Builder 3 before the trial expires.

  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get Flex Builder 3 - or get Flex Builder 4 to accept my serial number for Flex 3?

• Don't Flex Builder 3 Code Completion

  I don't know yet where post this question... it is related to the Flex + ColdFusion, but it is actually a matter of Flex Builder 3. So, I hope this is right? I saw a forum specific to Flex Builder.
  
  In any case, I am using Flex with ColdFusion, but when I switch to CFEclipse perspective in Flex Builder 3, code completion doesn't work anymore. It works very well with just a regular Eclipse installation. I also have Adobe CF for Flex Builder 3 extensions. This is a new installation in the last two weeks, so plugins are all to date. I don't want to have to use 2 IDEs in conjunction to encode my Flex applications. Anyone else have problems with Flex Builder 3 plugins and code completion?

  Too bad! If anyone has this problem, I just found out. Right-click on the project and select "Add/Remove of the CFE Nature" and it works. Sorry to bother...

• What is the replacement of design mode in flex builder 4.7 for builder extension cs?

  Because design view is not available in flash builder which is the use of the generator of the extension in the design of the user interface now let us design the user interface with the xml code that is very tedious and boring if there is no replacement for him only please aident.1 one more thing I want to know is that when I make new default project in the generator of expansion (flash builder 4.6) it also not able to load the errror creation mode is

Everything depends on this file component SWC does not appear in the Design Mode.The CFC does not load because of:

  * Incompatible definitions caused by the use of a different version of the SDK

  * Missing class definitions referred

  I searched quite considerably and my understanding is that Adobe did not intend to support Design view more for Extension Builder.  In my opinion a very disappointing decision and one that is difficult to understand.

  The best solution I can find is to create the majority of your design in a Builder Extension parallel, right, of the project and then convert/import your design in your Extension.  It certainly isn't as satisfying that having the Design view for the Extension that you write, but it is better than to simply create your layout: guess/trial and error.

  Although this has not been announced by Adobe, I have a suspicion that the reason why they decided to not to put other resources in design of fixing what Extension Builder as we know it will be dropped soon, probably replaced by a method of creating extensions to HTML5/JavaScript.  My problem with this is that, other than to reassure that there are reasons of compatibility backward support for legacy extensions, it will not be a way of compiling an extension in a way that prevents people from seeing your code.

  It's all speculation, and I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.  Hope this has helped.

• Flex Builder 2 replaces HTML wrapper

  I pass values to my application using flashvars, that works pretty well. But Flash Bulder 2 overwrites the file wrapper html with the flashvars in each generation.
  
  If I turn off the "File wrapper from generate HTML" setting, then the wrapper will be not overwritten longer, but then I can't start in debug mode, which is terrible... Curiously, the Flex Builder tries to start the SWF with the Real Player and then (without packaging), which does not of course.
  
  Here my questions:
  
  How can I say Flex Builder 2 to transfer the flashvars in the wrapper html also to the wrapper that is located in the folder "/ bin"? After each generation, those who are crushed.
  
  
  How can I use my application in with active debug option "File wrapper from generate HTML" mode and by using existing html wrapper files, where my flashvars?
  
  

  I found out what I did wrong... here my answers to my questions to share with potential imitators ;)

  To change a html envelope that is created and updated Flex Builder, it is important to change the html-template/index.template.html, and not the index.html file located in the root of the project folder, since this will be replaced whenever a generation occurs.

  Flash vars in the html code should appear in the html section and in the JavaScript section, which will be used by default in the browser. To find the right place in the JS, just search for 'flashvars' and add the parameters to the values of this key.

  I use currently a version track Flex builder available for vCenter-Extension development. We do you use Flex if often, should I buy Flex builder (Flash Builder 4.6) license for the development of a plugin-vCenter. Ask yourself what are cost-benefit vs specifically for the development of vCenter plug-in that I can point to for justification to our society.

  Some of the tools provided by VMware are clean enough, such as the project creation wizard vSphere-Web-Client which has Flex-Plugin. This has a dependency on Flex/Flash builder?

  If you are developing a serious plugin I recommend to get the license of Flash Builder (or try a few days without it to see the difference).  As the doc to install SDK says:

  "Adobe Flash Builder is not required to compile Flex code (the Flex compiler is included with the Flex SDK, see how it is used by Ant scripts provided with examples of the software development kit), but you should install it to enjoy the debugger and have a better development of experience within Eclipse.

  The project creation wizard is an Eclipse plugin that does not rely on Flash Builder.

• Flex Builder 4.5 Premium license does not not for automation - nothing else to try?

  So I get the message when I try to record/perform a test as the "license does not exist.  Replays are only allowed with the limited trial version. "I have a license key valid for Flash Builder 4.5 premium edition.  I read many forums on this subject, but none of them helped me.  I compile my project using Flash Builder 4.5, 4.5, and a script Ant calling mxmlc.  I changed my flex - config.xml to include 'flexbuilder4', 'flexbuilder45' and my serial number given with or without hyphens (and other combinations).  I do not have a license.properties file.  I don't know what I can do.  I already reinstalled Flash Builder 4.5.  I'm now trying Flash Builder 6 with the same results.

  DaVinci coder, I would recommend you report your request in the forum installation and activation of Flash Builder.

  I just started to use the hero for one of my projects but I get - "1172: definition mx.controls:Alert not found.» When I check, that there is there no control alert one more and I can't find any replacement spark plug?

  Alert control has been moved to mx.swc, in the frameworks/libs/mx directory. MX.swc should be on the way to the library, unless your project is configured as "Spark" only in the Flex Build Path properties.

• Documentation for Flash Builder 4 offline?

  Is it possible for me to have a documentation offline for Flash Builder 4? It's because I'm not constantly online and new to Flex and Flash Builder bewing altogether, I'm still at a loss whenever I'm doing something that's why offline documentation would really really handy! Note that the unit where I develop with Flash Builder has an internet connection, so I can't update the local documentation via the internet.

  I can help answer. There are two ways to get the documentation for Flash Builder 4 for offline use:

  • The Community Help app downloads packages to help your desktop and provides an option to view offline. Go in Edition > Preferences, and then setting display Local Help content only Yes. Note that you must be connected to the Internet, once fully download the help of packages. And any new update the doc will be unavailable unless you connect.
  • You can download a PDF of the book using Flash Builder copy from: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashbuilder/using/flashbuilder_4_help.pdf
    and access to data with Adobe Flex 4 book: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/AccessingData/flex_4_accessingdata.pdf

  We were using Flex 3.0.1 SDK + Flex Builder 3.0.1 combination and worked very well. Then due to some other business requirements had to upgrade the Flex SDK 3.5.0. Now the problem that we face is that the old Flex Builder 3.0.1 is not compatible with the new SDK (version 3.5.0).

  
  What is the solution? Is there a Flex Builder compatible with Flex 3.5 SDK available... I googled a bit, but failed. Is there any necessary changes in Flex Builder 3.0 files?
