  You can create word documents and powerpoint presentations, but you cannot save them directly on a normal USB.

• Portege R100 video cable does not reach the replacement LCD screen

  Hi guys, I have replaced the LCD screen of my Toshiba R100, than they had in it was defective. It seemed that it was a replacement at some point however. In any case, I received my new screen, but does not reach the video cable to the top of the circuit of LCD screens. How am I meant to connect it to the screen? Is there an extension cable or what? The screen they had in there previously looked like they were welded copper wires about 8 digitizer.

  Are you sure that it is perfectly compatible with your laptop protected R100 to 100%?

  Looks like it s not fully compatible
  However, if an extra cable is necessary you can get it from the Toshiba ASP in your country.

  In your case, I recommend you contact the guy and ask for compatible cable!

  They also sell a product called (new HD LED WXGA glossy 15.6 "replacement Laptop LCD screen for HP 2000-240 CA, 2000 - 320CA, 2000 - 340CA, 2000 - 375CA), it would cost CA$ 94,12 more shipping (almost the double the previous).

  I wonder, what is the difference between these two products?

  From what I understand is that all HP 2000 series have the same characteristics of Billboard and HP part number.

  We are looking for a spare part with the part number of HP partsurfer Web site or online stores, so that we get the exact compatible part - ideal if we get a provided exactly HP - including stock with them online sellers.

  No one can say if the part is actually authentic without you contacting the seller directly and confirms with the record and the part number.

• Replacement LCD for T61 options

  Hello Lenovo community,

  The first post, but several times here.

  I have a backlight bulb which is grilled (literally blackened at the end). I got my whole screen replaced 4 months ago so first guess (because it was easy & cheap) it was just the inverter card, but no. Because it was the holidays, I dropped the laptop with a tech who said that he order a bulb and just replace it. I had the computer laptop back today (9 days later) and technology, said the bulb was bad - just 1/2 of the screen lights up :-(. Because I need files on the computer for work, I found a cable and a monitor cheap on craigslist and am happily working at home on my T61 - via and very nice, very large external monitor.

  I would replace my laptop screen so I can be mobile again, but I can't find what I think it's the correct LCD on the agenda. I have a T61-7662CTO.   My original receipt shows the screen being 42 x 1670, but that doesn't seem like a number that relates to the FRU part to order a replacement.  I downloaded the manual and there were 7 FRU (and AUO, 3 LGs, Samsung 3) listed. Are some of these 7 compatible with my T61? And is there one out there that is 'better' and by better, I mean more sustainable.  I have to say that I love my Lenovo, in part b/c looks like a beast that is outdated, it's perfect, but I abuse outside the field (for going on 4 years now) and it just continues to run.    I would also say in my life - commitment live a little lighter on the Earth, I don't want to buy a new laptop for Aspire as I can keep replacement/upgrade parts in this little lady.

  Someone knows about the replacement screen for this machine, and better yet, does anyone have one around the pose I could buy and recycle in this T61?

  p.s. I also live and work in the middle of nowhere, it's often faster to me repair my own property, so I do this project at home...

  BTW, a search on the serial number you posted shows that your system came with FRU # 42 T 0410. In my opinion, it's the base, not the wxga WXGA screen + optional, but either will work.

  Also, to echo what I said you private, used a good cover for this model would sell for $50-100, depending on the model and replacement of the status screen, which is cheaper, easier, and probably more reliable then your typical generic LCD which (as you discovered), often are not the same quality as the originals...

  I would also add that your system seems to have the optional T9300 Penryn CPU, making it a very nice system... several of them have a cpu of myself and really worth to fix it.

  Now, the SSD has a thickness of 7mm.

  My question is if I can replace the HDD with that SSD? The thickness is the HARD drive Bay in the laptop.

  If it is greater than 7mm from the DSS moves inside?

  The old HDD on your machine is a little thicker, but at least 4 screws I do not think that new SSD will circulate in the case. I have actually put new SSD in one of my laptop (not HP) and no problem, BUT I don't move this laptop. If so, blue tac can help.

  I recently acquired the dead laptop HP 2000 model bf69WM with a hard drive (error in the log of BIOS: 03F0). I studied a replacement and found gaps in the Service Guide. He says that the supported drive has an RPM of 5400 in section 7200 in another. The drive 5400 RPM is 9.5 mm. The 7200 disk is 7mm. The HARD death drive is a Toshiba 320 GB model MQ01ABD032.

  If I replace with another Toshiba 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm drive all should be well, (I assume apples to apples). If I replace it with the 7200 RPM drive 7 mm: has) the highest ROTATION speed will cause more heat and perhaps premature? (b) will it be should I buy another drive Assembly to support the drive of 7 mm?

  I'm looking to a Western Digital drive. In addition, this particular model does not support larger capacity drives or SSD?

  Is a license for your laptop to Windows 7 or Windows 8? Can't help much with Windows 8, but if you have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit here is a link to an .iso that is a legal copy of the operating system that you are naked.

  This will work only if your laptop came with Windows 7 installed. If it is Windows 8, you will have recovery media order of HP.

  Recently dropped my folio 13 HP. He managed to fold a little of the envelope, but the internal parts are not affected. I decided that I will try to fix it myself, since it is out of warranty.  I have all the parts except for the back cover of the LCD screen.

  Is there anywhere I can buy a new rug or do I have to buy the whole of the entire screen? The LCD works fine so I would rather not replace it if I can avoid it. Thank you...

• hard drive failure and replacement of the laptop pavilion dv6-1000

  It seems that the hard drive has failed in the laptop.  When I run a test gives me a message 3f0 and hard drive does not exist.  Tried to start the repair system and the operating system not found.  Would fix with the image of the system.  No found boot device.  Conclusion: new hard drive required.  The laptop drive is a seagate momentus 320 GB 5400,6.    Do I have to replace it with a new seagate or can I use a Western Digital with the same 320 GB, 5400 rpm?  Thank you in advance.

  WD should be fine and if you want to use a disc 7 200 RPM faster seek time (at a small cost of battery life between charges) you can go with this too.

  I just sent my beloved X 61 Tablet for return to the problem of detachment of bezel/LCD (SXGA +). I was told by EZ Serv information center and EZ Serv representative that they have to order a spare for my LCD. They will specify no time as it takes to get the replacement. Anyone here have a similar experience? How long did you wait to get your problem fixed bezel with IBM/Flextronics detachment?

  Update:

  EZServ sent the machine back yesterday evening by DHL from one day to the next. I received the machine around noon time.

  The following items have been replaced (according to the report of the action)
  LCD display/screen
  Plastics (the frame of glasses has been changed).

  They have also updated the BIOS to the latest firmware.

  I noticed that the new LCD is brighter and more blue than the other older. Easier on my eyes, especially because it is brighter. The detachment of the bezel is completely corrected now. Later I will report in a few weeks to see if it sticks.

  So far, I am satisfied with the service of Lenovo, but EZserv online information site can be improved.
