The installed version of Windows XP is a Volume License.

The key used is one that was never issued by MS and was therefore generated by KeyGen tool a hacker.

The installed version of Office is also authentic, being based on a key that was stolen from MS and rekeased to the internet in 2002/3.

You must find your legitimate key for Windows XP Pro and then use the product key update tool to change the key to that - or reinstall the operating system after a reformat with a legitimate disc and a license.

  • I took my system repair, and a pirated version of Windows has been installed. How to install my copy of Windows?

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
I am not able to install windows vista on my laptop. A few days before my work laptop stopped and I have it for repair.
The repairman told me that the boot Image does not. I have recovery disks gave him. He informed me that these discs also does not work.
It has installed pirated windows vista on my laptop. I was not informed on this subject. Kindly help my window even.
    Concerning

    Hello

As they installed a "pirated" copy of Vista, you need to reinstall Vista yet.

And if your recovery disks do not work, you should contact the manufacturer of your computer to the recovery disks does not.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

Read what you don't say if you have the recovery disks when you bought your laptop, or if you have made yourself the recovery Partition

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

Earlier, I used to run windows 7 Home Basic. My pc manufacturer gave me a windows preinstalled on my computer, no CD was there only a product key sticker.

Once my pc crashed then I installed windows 7 ultimate pirate that was provided by my friend. It's been months that I looked into the case of activation. My trial of windows 7 has expired and it shows me a black screen. I have a sticker with a product key on the back of my all in one pc. But the key is rubbed off. Please can someone tell me how do I get my activation key? What is vissible in the thumbnail is a bar code. Also say if the upgrade to windows 10 will fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.
It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.
Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:
What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?
Make sure you scroll down and read the section:
What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

You've been given some way to restore the Windows XP machine to its factory default settings, I guess?  (If this copmputer was purchased new - which must be true).

  • I want to buy a legal downloadable version of Windows XP Professional.

    Hello!

I bought the game Fallout 3, but it won't work with my Windows 7 64 bit ultimate, which I am running. Now, I would buy Windows XP Pro (English or Swedish version) and preferably a downloadable version. Is this possible? Or should I download a pirated version of windows XP just to be able to run my game that I spent a lot of money on?

Very grateful for any help I can get.

    BR

    Jörgen Jönsson

Well first of all you should have CHECKED the game you bought would go on the software you have.

Secondly there is no "legal" download of XP. However, I believe that Ultimate allows you to use the XP Mode. See here for details http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/windows-xp-mode

    Could be a virus.

Start by downloading the free version of Malwarebytes, it will detect and remove most of the viruses.

There are also Norton Power Eraser

There is a risk that it can select some legitimate programs for removal.
You should use this tool very carefully, and only after you have exhausted other options.

  • Is Windows XP, a Version of Windows o/s?

    Hello Microsoft,

Recently, somewhere and some speak of ""Windows XP is a system of computers operating staff interrupted . " "

So around this discussion, I have some problems,

    1. is Windows XP, a version of Windows o/s? Or another product?

    2. is the relationship between Windows XP and Windows Vista are the different versions of Windows operating systems? Or are they two different products without any relationship?

    3. I know Windows XP is an operating system for personal computers, and its status is the em now. So we can say that Windows XP is an operating system of microcomputer abandoned?

    4. I know that for AMD64 processor, there was a beta version called Windows XP 64-bit Edition for 64-bit Extended System, later in versions RC, it was changed to Edition of Windows XP Professional x 64. I wonder the exactly meaning of x 64. Because Windows XP Professional x 64 was released in March 2005, one year before Intel named their processors with EM64T enabled as Intel 64 processors, so the x 64 is to the 64-bit Extended System?

For all four questions above, I am badly need answers! Million thanks in advance.

Recently, somewhere and some speak "/ Windows XP is a system of computer operating staff abandoned .".

"Abandoned" is perhaps too strong a Word. Microsoft is no longer
supports, but that does not mean it is no longer usable.

So around this discussion, I have some problems,

    1. is Windows XP, a version of Windows o/s? Or another product?

There is really no such thing as "Windows o/s. Yes, Windows is a
operating system, but its name is not 'Windows o/s "; It's just 'Windows '.

And 'Windows' is not really the name of any individual operation
System; It is a family of operating systems. It's not like 'Smith '.
being the name of a specific person, but rather the name of a
    family of.

If Windows XP is a member of a family of operating systems called
"Windows". Other members of the family are Windows 1, 2 Windows,
Windows 3, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows
Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, which is the
    current version.

    2. is the relationship between Windows XP and Windows Vista are the different versions of Windows operating systems?

Yes. Windows XP is a version of Windows that is five generations old.
Windows Vista is a four generation old version. If you plan to
upgrade to Windows Vista, I do not recommend. Go to the current
version 10 of Windows, not such an old version.

    3. I know Windows XP is an operating system for personal computers, and its status is the em now. Can say us that / Windows XP is an operating system of microcomputer abandoned? /

As I said above, you pouvez use the word 'abandoned', but it
    wouldn't be my choice.

    4. I know for AMD64 processor, there was a beta version called/Windows XP 64 - bit Edition for 64-bit Extended system, later in the RC versions, she was replaced by / / Windows XP Professional x 64 edition. I wonder what exactly a / x 64. Because Windows XP Professional x 64 was released in March 2005, one year before Intel named their processors with EM64T enabled as Intel 64 processors, so is the / x 64 / pointing to the extended 64 - bit system? /

Yes, the '64' refers to her being as a 64-bit architecture. It can run on a
64-bit processor (that most new computers these days), but not on a
    CPU 32-bit.
