replacement operating system disks

Pavilion 6720f I had a hard drive crash.  I replaced the drive, but I need a new installation of Windows 7 Home premium.   Is the HP recovery disk kit a version full of Windows 7, or is there another way to get the HP disc?

Rick, welcome to the forum.

Yes, the recovery disks will return the computer in its original configuration, including Win 7 if it's operating system.  Here is a guide to help you order the HP system recovery discs if you don't have them.

Also, here is a guide to help you make the recovery.

I need to reformat my hard drive. I can't find my original operating system disks. Ho do new copies? (Windows XP Home edition)

If it is preinstalled with your PC, you will need to contact the manufacturer. Often, they will send you a copy of the disk if you are still under warranty. You can also use any other copy of Windows XP and activate using the product key available in a label on the CPU.

If it's a retail copy, you need to talk to Microsoft and to pay for the copy. If it's Volume License, you can download the iso and burn it to a CD, or pay for the media.

    Hi Jasmine,.

You can buy a recovery disk set of HP or an HP partner online.

You should try to run the windows system file checker.

Go to a command prompt and type sfc/scannow. Let it run until the end replaced and Windows system file checker instect will all the files he found to be corrupt or otherwise damaged.

  • Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium operating systems disks

I bought my laptop with Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium installed on it.  I've since upgraded to Windows 7.  Unfortunately, there are a few programs that will not work under Windows 7 little matter what I do.

So, I would try to run a virtual Windows Vista system.  The problem is that I can't find my disk with the operating system of Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium on it.

Download the Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium operating system so that I can burn a disc for a back-up or I can order a drive with the OS on it?

    Thank you!

You can not upgrade to Windows 7, and then use the Vista OS you used as part of the upgrade to install another (even virtual).

There is no Vista free download legal available.

And Microsoft provide no DVD for computers of the brand OEM (Dell, HP, etc).

Borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

  • TouchSmart 300: need for the windows operating system disk 7

I have a desktop model 300-1020 all-in-one (purchase of 2009). The hard drive has bad sectors and I get warnings to save and change hard drives. • The operating system disks

I put a new hardrive in my hp pavillion a6683w and I was wondering where can I get the disks to reinstall my operating system?

    Hello:

You can read this link below on how to order recovery disks for your PC.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

If they are no longer available at HP, you can get them from this provider.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ID=14620

If you are in a fault light but rewarding you can do yourself if you can read your product key of Vista on the PC of 25 characters.

If you can read your 25-character product key MS, you can make your own Windows Vista installation disc. You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."

The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.

The other thing I noticed is on the 4th page, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in me, and then other codes already filled in.

When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.

I selected no, make the ISO file.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them one my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, worked flawlessly.

When you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.

After you install vista successfully, you can then visit pilot page and support for your PC and install the drivers you need.

  • I would like to replace my system disk.  Have a Mac Pro 2010, 4 drive bays

My system disk is full and I can't put more on it 320.  It is a Mac Pro 2010, with 4-Bay.  I could put a larger capacity drive in one of the other berries, but I don't know how to transfer the info on the old drive to the new.  If I use Migration Asst, it will keep the permissions for music software, etc.?

Also, I have a Mac Pro 2010 and moved my system from one disk to another. In my case, I moved from 10.7.5 on a drive of 1 GB to 1 Bay for a 512 GB SSD on a map of drive SATA PCIe 2.0 6-Gb/s.

There are probably several ways to do what you think. However, as I have not used the Apple Migration Assistant personally, I don't think I can answer your question with absolute certainty if it will keep your permissions for music software and so will leave it to someone else who has experience with its use.

But I can gives you two ways that may be useful: One is if you already want to back up your system using Apple Time Machine drive, you can restore the backup to a new larger drive. The other would be to buy a program to copy such as SuperDuper! ($28) ou Carbon Copy clone ($40) and they can clone your drive system on a new drive. I've built a number of backup copies (10.7.5, 10.8, 10.10) for different purposes (development, experimentation, downsizing to re - purpose a 1 or 2 GB drive for something else...) With a Mac Pro and 4 Bay, you have a lot of flexibility.

    Hope that helps.

  • How to reinstall XP Pro operating system disk already XP Pro; make a partition, or the multiboot?

  • should I have got windows xp with my operating system disk, I bought the xp system with code authenticticatioin

I bought a dual pentium with acer moniter windows home edition OS prossesor .should I got the new cd with my package?

Maybe and maybe not.  You should have been provided with some means to reinstall Windows on your machine should something bad happen.

If you have purchased an OEM machine (such as HP, Dell, E-machines brand name, etc.), in the old days, the manufacturer will provide a DVD to reinstall Windows.  More recently, they save the expense of the DVD and provide a recovery Partition on the hard drive that can be activated by pressing a key or combination of keys to the start screen very first from the switching on of the machine.  In addition, they generally provide a way for you to burn your own DVDs (only once) for use as a backup hard drive to go belly.  In any case, if you have an OEM machine, you should go to the manufacturer's Web site and download the manual for your computer.  Everything should be revealed it has appliqu' to your machine.

If you bought a PC to measure with a copy retail XP, then I would expect that you should have been provided with a DVD or instructions on how to make your own backup OS installation to reinstall Windows.

  • Is there a limit on the number of times you can use a disk operating system Windows 8 pro?

So I got an operating system disk with my laptop, I used a disc of Windows 7 on it. My brother has used the disc 8.1 on its newly build pc, it worked. When I tried on my new pc it says that some files are missing or damaged. I wonder now if you can only use it once.

    Hello

You can use several times on THE same machine. You can install on many machines, but you can turn on a SINGLE machine. In your case, the system thinks you want to update and it will not work. You must purchase the upgrade dics (DVD).

    Kind regards.
