  It is certainly possible, in fact, it should be fairly simple how experienced you are with computers. Hand, you have a few options I can think. Was of course since I am not aware of what kind of hard drive in your old computer, you will probably need to buy an additional cable\cord\connector to connect to the motherboard, and if it is an old IDE drive, you can buy an IDE to SATA as one of them.

  This is all assuming you want to keep the hard drive installed on the PC. And although it may sound intimidating or difficult to do, it's really not! If you can put some screws with a screwdriver, you will be able to install the old drive if your new PC. Simply enter the model number of your PC to the HP drivers & support web page or click on the following link: upgrade and repair, (this is for the model number you provided) read the first couple pages & then proceed to PDF page #17. Read & review the instructions once in a relationship, print out the instructions if necessary, collect tools (flat head screwdriver & anti-static bracelet), then just follow instructions & take your time paying attention to the illustrations. It is frankly less work & easier than typing all of this out.

  Either way, you can easily connect to your computer must use one of these: existingUSB-adapters IDE that allows you to directly access a device of ATA/ATAPI IDE interface. Everything is a matter of preference and what you are comfortable doing.  To find these items I already mentioned, just google 'em and either find a computer store nearby and investigate with them or order from a decent distributor in your country for the best prices. Overall, there are many more options that I've listed here, but they are all relatively will do the same thing; that is the type of player, you must convert a USB cord. Hope this helps!   The Inspiron 6000 is a very old laptop and requires a type of hard drive IDE, so you do not have the option to replace it with an SSD.

  So my question... How can I get an activation code of my CS2 software?  Where should I go, either by phone or through the net?

  probably Yes if the specification is close enough, normally in this scenario a driver may involve change or be added when first starting.
  Make critical data backup & make sure you xp repair disk or Startup Repair Tools on-site in case you have problems starting permutation of readers but you expect not but being prepared makes life easier...

  Desktop motherboard has 5 heads SATA (of which 2 were used for the first DvD and HARD disk in the original Setup) and the box has 3 bays for HARD drive, but there is no additional power from the PSU cable.

However, to my great disappointment, the system is unable to start up. I guess that supply POWER 300 watts current is insufficient to start 3 disks to a single supply with extension cable.

  Probably, you have misunderstood my response.  Unplug the original HD boot drive.

  Your question is not the power supply lack of insufficient power.  I have observed remains with HP computers with a power supply that would support three HDs off a 300 Watt SATA power cable voltage.

  Perhaps the third HD is formatted incorrectly or is defective.  The other possibility is that your SATA Y cable connection is defective.  You also need good 5V and 12V.  In addition, if you have made any hardware changes to your PC you have not indicated, then it is possible that you may need a bigger power supply.

  Recovery disks do not use the Image you did install Windows and all software/drivers hard disk from the factory original.

  You would start with repair cd to restore the Image.
