Replica view 5 server connection

Quick question for a validation test. I add a broker for the secondary connections to our environment from view as well as the documents that I read seem to indicate the replication server does not require its own SSL certificate, but this seems contrary to the purpose to have SSL certificates. The replication server has its own cert? Here is the doc that I am following.

VMware View 5.0 Documentation Centre

See you soon.

The broker for the replica will need a certficiate SSL connections.   In our environment, we use SAN certs with the name of loadbalanced as well as the local host name.

  • Unable to connect to the host via VMWare View Security Server 4

I have installed and configured the VMWare View connection server and can connect to the virtual machine (Windows XP Pro) shareed via the customer to view without a problem. The problem Im having is that I have configured the Security server in my zone demilitarized and authorized the appropriate DMZ ports and the port 80 and 443 to the outside on my DMZ. Access the public URL and he invites me to authenticate what I do and it then publishes my office pool. I click to connect to the shared pool and it says connection for about 5 drops of s and then just my connection. Now, if I go to my security on my DMZ server, I can connect to the thin desktop via RDP.

    Thank you

eeg3 is correct if you have a direct connection enabled on the broker for connections paired with security server then you would be forced to open 3389 to the outside world since the workstations would try to connect directly to the desktop.    The right way to go forward is to create the replica with disabled direct connection and combine security with this box server.

Do not check everything again: you cannot log in because you can't solve. It can be solved, either replace the connection URL in the configuration of the IP address instead of FULL domain name, which I do not recommend since the certificate cannot be based on IP addresses...

When you receive a message "Server (null)", it is because the server name cannot be resolved by the client. The reason why you configure server security <->Server with IP addresses tunnel connection is because they may not be able to resolve the FULL of the other domain name.

The PCoIP gateway feature is enabled on the servers of your connection? It may be useful if you send us pictures of your configuration (security servers and connection)

  • View domain for the server connection help please

OK, I don't know where to put this so I hope it's a good place. I tried to install view connection server on my last windows 2003 server. I built a laboratory at home with a dedicated server for vCenter, AD and view connection. When trying to install view connection Server 4.5 sound telling me:

"This computer is a member of a domain, but no server connection can be found. Please make sure that this computer is properly connected to a domain and that a domain controller is available before to perform this installation again'

OK, so I logged on windows Server 2003 view connection using active directory so why it gives me this error?

    Thank you.

Start by pingging your AD server's DNS server.  Also, try ping the DNS server of the virtual machine that you are trying to install the view on.  You can try it joined to the domain by using the command NET DOM.  We do in our environment at all correct control but can not quite understand our this is the problem.  You can also check the event viewer on the virtual computer to see if he throws all Kerberos events associated with the certificate expiring this testimony of course that the server may need to be joined to the domain.  The virtual machine was interrupted for a while?

  • Problem in installing VMware View Server connection

    Hello

As the first step to install the VMware View Manager, I tried to install the connection to the VMware View server on a virtual machine to Windows 2003 Server SP2. This machine is added to a domain under our Windows Active Directory. I can connect to the machine using user accounts that are on the directory to active directory. My problem is that when I try to install the view connection server, I get an error message indicating

"The computer is a member of a domain, but no server connection was found. Please make sure that the computer is properly connected to a domain and that a domain controller is available before to perform this installation again'.

Because I can log into the machine using accounts in active directory, I assume that the computer is properly connected in the field. I also confirmed that there is a domain controller in active directory. I tried to do the installation under an account that has administrative privileges for the object active directory, but also a local administrator account. Could someone suggest where I could go wrong?

    Thanks in advance

  • Cannot start server connection service

    Hi all

I recently upgrade our 5.3.4 server connection view to 6.2.2. The upgrade worked correctly and everything works fine. I decided to upgrade the operating system Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server R2 2012. The upgrade of the operating system smoothly.

However, once the server has been started I noticed that the view connection server service would not start. This is because the VMWareVDMDS service is missing. As I couldn't find a solution I had to go back to a snapshot, I did the upgrade of the operating system.

Is there a reason why this service would be removed when the operating system is upgraded? Is there a way I can fix the installation view to replace the missing service if I upgrade the OS again?

    Thank you

    James

Not sure why he would remove the service, but there is an alternative way to do it.   Rather than upgrade the broker existing OS you built a new Server R2 of 2012 and just join him in the replica group.   Once you check that everything works correctly on the server of 2012 you can take their retirement the broker in 2008.

  • javaw.exe missing on view Security Server - view 6.2.1

    Hello

I'm trying to associate a view Security Server with a connection to the server (point 6.2.1).  Both servers run Windows 2012 r2 and ran into a new error (for me anyway).

I have install the matching password, and when I go to install the Security Server component, I get an error of coupling horizon 6 pairing error.png .  I can access the server from the server security with https connection and think that other DMZ Firewall rules are configured correctly.

Looking through the papers, I find a mistake on not being javaw.exe is not a recognized command.  I drill down to the path of the log entry and find that javaw.exe is not where it seems expected.  It seems to be a dynamic path created by the installation process

  • Discovered a lot of upgrade and java server connection

I'm about to upgrade my 4.6 5.3 view connection server. If I bump the RAM on my server connection view to 10 GB, the view connection Server Setup will modernize the resources of bunch of java along the way?  The kb article and a SR, I had to open with VMware both said to uninstall/reinstall, but if I can improve I rather do.

I think that the java heap is configured on a new installation.    You can always update your current environment (to the current specification) and then create a new CB in the same group of replica with your 10 GB memory footprint.   Which should allow an easy transition.

  • Server connection load balancing?

    Hi all

I know with the replica server, you can have multiple connection servers, so if one fails, you can redirect users to the other connection server, or you can use multiple connection servers to divide the load. What is the best method (deployment best practices) to connect to the server high availability? If you make use of the feature of vSphere fault tolerance?

I ask myself this question in part regarding this message below. I don't really understand this part "depending on your configuration of view connection server, you might see a message, as there is no secure connection to the view connection server. In some cases, no message is displayed.

What arrangement they are referring to? In addition, the only time where I came across this message in production is when users connect to view through VPN connections. Are there specific settings that must be defined to better support vpn to connect to the server connections?

What to do if discovered Client exits unexpectedly

View client may quit even if you do not close it.

    Problem

View Client may quit unexpectedly. Depending on your configuration of view connection server, you might see a message as there is no secure connection to the view connection server. In some cases, no message is displayed.

    Cause

This problem occurs when the connection to view connection to the server is lost.

    Solution

Restart the Client to view. You can connect with success as soon as the view connection server is run again. If you continue to have problems connecting, contact your administrator to view.

    Thank you

    Mike

I understand they disconnect and must reconnect manually.

You can easily test it with a single connection to the server by connecting to a virtual desktop and stopping the view on the broker connection service.

Me too I have a 403 error code on my photosmart 5520. I have the router off turner & 5520, I have a connection, but still can not scan to e-mail.

    Hello @TPGJT,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand you are having a problem connecting to the server when you try to scan to e-mail.

    I would like to help.

I recommend that you set a manual DNS.

I had the most success when using Google's DNS address.

The post is for a Photosmart 7510, but the procedure will be very similar.

  • Plugin horizon View Agent direct connection + disconnection after disconnection

If I use the plug-in Horizon View Agent Direct-connection is there still a way to get the virtual machine for auto & with force logoff the current user after X minutes if the (in my case), lightweight client disconnects abruptly (off)?

It is probably a virtual machine that is not handled by a server view connection? You should create/change the following registry setting power (this would be automatically updated if you were using a CS):

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware \VMware VDM\Node Manager\DisconnectLimitMinutes, Inc.

The value-1 means immediately, a value of 0 means never. Positive values are the number of minutes to wait after the disconnection occurs.

  • I'm a little confused on what view "Security Server" is...

I configured a test of internal company environment VMware View 5.1 to access pooled VMs dedicated and linked clone of iPads.

Now, one of the users involved in the test environment wants to access his VM dedicated outside of the office... But I want to be sure to provide a secure connection.

I was a little confused with the VMware documentation, because I understand that VMware View 4 had another product/device to view security server to act as a gateway, secure to operate into DMZ network and enable access to the view connection server... I think so... But I find no such beast in VMware not downloads section called 'VMware View Security Server 5.1.'

I'm in a bit of mess. My understanding on Internet clients see how external access to the server of company internal connection through the DMZ must be leaves much to be desired unless 5.1 view connection server itself has absorbed the activities of the Server VMware View 4 security and he is riding on the area demilitarized or well... Oh hell... I'm just confused

Little help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

    See you soon!

  • You can install the server connection and security on the same virtual machine Server?

I was looking around and found an old post that says that you could do.

I tried the documentation view 5 but not a lot of luck there.

If the deployment is small say 20 users view total.

Could install you the connection and security on the same VM Server?   W2K8R2 64-bit?

I certainly understand some of the security risks.

    TIA

    Marc Alumbaugh says:

    Any other ideas?

No other ideas, but we have should stick to previous ideas and continue to work through them. You make progress in this analysis - continue! When it is correctly configured, you have configured the firewall/proxy etc don't not to block PCoIP and that you use at least seen 4.6 on the Client and the server, it does not work.

It always seems that there's something blocking PCoIP in your environment - where the black screen.

So when 'PCoIP external URL' on the login server is defined on InternalIP:4172, your View on the internal network Client connects fine. If you run Wiresahrk on your connection to the server to capture the connections, you will see a connection HTTPS turns on TCP 443. Then when you select a pool of offices you will see a PCoIP connection come in. It comes to 4172 TCP from the customer to the login server, then UDP 4172 also from the Client to the server connection as well as UDP 4172 in reverse. For this reverse part, the source UDP port will be 4172 and corresponds to the destination UDP port source on the incoming UDP packets. Check that this is the case. This will prove that the login server is gateway your PCoIP correctly.

    So far so good.

Then, you switch to your remote Client to view from on the Internet. To do this, you assign the URL of the "external" ExternalIP:4172 PCoIP. Note that you don't need to restart the login server for this to take effect. It takes effect immediately. This IP address will be the public IP address which will probably through a NAT/firewall to access your connection to the server. You can start by checking that the IP address is correct using to connect to the server address when you satrt the customer to view. When you use the same IP address to the Client and through the authentication step, it will prove that it is set up correctly in terms of Routing/NAT etc. Then follow with Wireshark on the login server and observe what happens when you select a pool of virtual offices and get the black screen. You should see the same activity PCoIP on your login server model as in the case of internal test (i.e. starting with the incoming TCP connection on port 4172). View Client will use the ExternalIP address that you specified in the "URL external PCoIP ' to establish the PCoIP connection to connect to the server. So if you don't see this com 4172 TCP on the login server, or you do not see the packets UDP 4172 then something is blocking. This is usually caused by a firewall or a proxy blocking PCoIP.

If this is the case and you do not see these packets to connect to the server, then run Wireshark on the Windows Client to view and see if you can see 4172 TCP and/or UDP sent to this ExternalIP 4172. If Yes, then you know that something (such as a firewall or proxy) between the Customer View and the view connection server it blocks.

Let us know what it was.

    Hope it will be useful.
