• issue of Reporting for vSphere

  Hey all, I am very new to these forums and I apolgize for any noobness my piece. I'm under vSphere 4.0 Build 208111. I use almost 100 VM on it and need to run a report that displays the IP addresses and MAC addresses for these virtual machines running. I messed up part of the substance before considered for monthly virtual machines running for employers and others, but I have never seen a reason to run this specific report indicating MAC addresses.   Hello

  I have 2xVmware ESX 4 hosts managed by V-host. I intend to get statistics and report of the host ESX command line to schedule/automate these report.

  Of the graphical inetrface of the vSphere client, can I export the required reports (i.e. Performance report). However, can you please help me find a way to get the report and stats on the similar to that in the GUI (Performance report) ESX host, but the command line?

  I installed the PowerCLI, but I wasn't able to find scripts that export these reports. Your help is very appreciated.

• Configuration of high availability in vSphere alarms

  Hello

  We have three ESXi hosts in a cluster and, recently, one of the hosts that failed (I have connected a matter of pension with VMWare to get assistance to research into why).  The virtual machines on this host automatically migrate to the other two hosts in the cluster, but we did not know that this had happened until we saw some VMS showing high CPU ready using vCOPs.

  My boss asked me to alert us if the high availability feature is used as it was the case here.  I looked on Google and the VMWare Web site, but I can't find anything specific but I've only worked with VMWare products for about a month so it could well be that I'm looking for simply not the right thing.

  I would be grateful for any help, as I have said that I am very new to VMWare, so I hope I got all the information that is needed, if it's not made me know.

  There are quite a few definitions standard alarm, you can use. Maybe there's a useful alarm because you can find them in the 'Alerts' tab

  Okay, another way to do it, you can create a report model with "alerts that are currently active", then you can run the report on vSphere World object model, it will generate a pdf and csv file.

  I searched for a few loads solution / reporting for vSphere environment and after a few days with Veeam One

  I downloaded vCOP test to see if it's something I need (apparently...)

  Unfortunately I have not understande what wrong with my way of thinking... I see a license key on the evaluation of product mywmare page - but the auto-generated license key

  vCOP in web view client is different. In Operations Manager, I see only three tabs: operations, environment and alerts... I see no reports etc...

  In configuration I see service running, connected vcenter, the status of 'authorized' product

  Where is the flaw? Versions? Is it necessary to change the license but how?

  Please advice; I think that it is something so obvious that I can't find a solution online...

  "All license management tasks are performed in the vSphere Client. You cannot assign licenses in vCenter operations Manager Administration Portal. Follow the instructions in the VMware vCenter Operations Manager deployment and Configuration Guide for license.

  vCenter Operations Manager running in mode of foundation if no license key or an incompatible license key is applied. "Assign the license key for the edition you purchased."

• vDS - evacuation packets dropped

  Hi all!

  I need a little help with the statistics of port drops and vDS package.

  The problem is:

  I observe millions of packages of the infiltration of Exception on all 4-links of my single switch vDS and probably tens of millions fell Egress packets on all ports of vDS independently a port group to which they belong.

  What I saw:

  -I see these drops on a statistic at the VM level (performance > network) as well, but only for RX.

  -I encounter connectivity problems at the level of the same application if (no packet loss in guest operating system or when ping logs).

  -Statistical physical switch signals no error/throw packages.

  -Nothing significant in the journals of vSpehre

  -Low traffic and low load VM

  -No warnings not reported on vSphere vDS switch health monitoring is enabled and reports normal status

  This is why I would like to ask several questions:

  -What is 'Packages coward Egress' actually means in terms of stats vDS? What are these packages and why they are loose

  -How to reset the counters of these packages?

  -are there any low level network of diagnostic tools for vSphere/ESXi?

  Versions: ESXi 5.1u1, vCenter 5.1u1

  I would be very grateful if someone could give a clue to what is happening or advise at least a direction for further investigation.

  As you said yourself, you do not experience real problems even if this large number of ignored packets is displayed, no?

  An incorrect report on ignored packages seems to be known for a while:

  This problem occurs when the packets filtered by the string of IO are poorly recorded as ignored packets. It is a question, the packets are not lost, so they cannot be seen using esxtop or other network monitoring tools.

  This is not what I see here. Here's what we have:

  ESXi, 4.1.0 260247 (as reported by vSphere Client)

  VMWare tools Version 8.3.2 build 257589 (as reported by VMWare dialogue tools 'about')

  It is its own version of the tools for the host?

  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the tools on my guests several times, and they always communicate the same build number.

  Is it possible for a host to install a version of 'out of sync' tools? If so, how can I "Resync" it?

• vSphere is reporting that the iSCSI disk is empty after adding it
