Request OEM licensed copy of Windows 7

Hello

I have a desktop with pre-installed Windows 7. I would like to do a new installation on a new HARD drive but I don't have Win7 installation disc. How can I request an ISO?

I read this post https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-7-Discussion/Windows-7-Install/td-p/1099861. All of this post links to Microsoft software Recovery: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery. I tried to request a copy of Win7 from this site, but I get an error message indicating that I have to contact Microsoft Support. So, I did. Office Microsoft Help companion checked my product key and said it was valid, but in order to get the copy that I had to contact the support service for the OEM. They gave me the phone number, but I can't reach it from my current place of residence.

Is there a way to contact Lenovo support by e-mail or by any other means except for the phone?

Thank you.

Finally, I managed to contact Lenovo support team and they confirmed there is no ISO standard for download.

However, I found this post which provides a link to a mirror that contains all the ISO of Win7 official the times supported by DigitalRiver.

Kind regards.

    Hello

You can also use this method.

You do not have a Vista disc that came with the computer to reinstall with, you should have a recovery Partition to do.

Here is the HP Compaq information on how to use the recovery partition to put your computer in a new State.

You press F11 at startup or through their Recovery Manager.

It is all explained in this link.

    Hello

Windows XP Media Center is available for OEM only and if you don't have a motherboard the OEM valid, it will not activate.

The only option would be to get a newer version of Windows if your system supports or get an OEM motherboard (HP) that you can use the recovery on.

  • Can I download a copy of Windows XP and allows to activate my product license

I have a Dell Precision 380 opportunity with Windows XP Professional, which was already installed. I have produced key but no disc and can not get windows to run right or internet page explore wants same load. I can download a copy of Windows XP and allows to activate my product license (I need to read the original CD and not any copy)?  If not, can I use to reinstall an authentic copy of Windows XP (since I was a valid product license) without having to buy a new version of Windows?

    No, it is not downloadable.
The person who gave you the PC should have provided the disk. Otherwise, you're out of luck, unless you know somone who has the same version of the OEM Dell software that you can borrow.

  • Windows 7 OEM license, cloned the new hard drive.

I'm scratching my head on this one.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro with an OEM license.

Beyond December, my original hard drive started failing so I made a clone of Clonezilla and transferred to a new hard drive.  Since then, I have not been able to run Windows update and I regularly get a Windows is not real popup.  I checked the section properties and my computer Windows Activation of Windows is enabled.  I tried the site of verification but that sends me to a web page that does not seem to load correctly and 9/10 times.  When I managed to load and I downloaded the WindowsActivationUpdate tool, it gives me just a Setup 0xC8000247 error.  I tried returning my SLUI 3 product key and everything went through fine.  I checked various websites and people say that it must be good using a new hard drive, others say you can't and others are calling saying Microsoft and speak to someone.

Can I use my OEM license when transferring to a new hard drive?  Answer, what would be the next step?

Yes, you can use the same OEM license, because it's the same computer.

What you need to do is probably performing a new installation. Clone software tends not to provide the best results.

The old hard drive still works? You might try one last time to create a system image and restore it on the new hard drive:

How to pass Windows 7 to a bigger hard drive - books...

This of course would mean reinstall the old hard drive, create a system image and then restore it on the hard drive.

Another option is to perform a new installation using the OEM key.

Step 1: Download a copy of Windows 7:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

Step 2: Perform a custom installation, see Windows 7 section of the following article how to perform a custom installation:

  • OEM license key will work with sales facility in retail Windows

Originally titled: My driver's license - which is preinstalled - will work on a new installation.

It is a long story.  I have a Sony VPCEB1S0E.  I got a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit preloaded on it.

    Backstory:

My laptop crashed about 1 year ago.  If a friend of my uncle has reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  Lately, I realized that it is a Windows patched copy.  It does not say it is authentic, but I think that it is loaded with a magazine or something.  I used the command slui.exe 3 and entered my old key for my Home Premium edition.  He said that the key that I entered belonged to another edition of Windows.

    Present:

So I tried to download an iso. using the new recovery software Page.  However, when I entered my old product key, it displays an error saying:

    Unsupported product

The product key you have entered seems to be the software that was preinstalled on a device.  Contact the manufacturer of the device for soft recovery options.

I managed to download an iso of Home Premium. file from a trusted source.

    Main question:

If I reinstall a new copy of Windows Home Premium, my existing license key will work during installation?

Yes, the product key will work because it's the right 'Home Premium' edition.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    Another option:

In the past, I bought a windows XP disk manufacturers Premium System home.

If there is a computer that does not have the recovery discs, I could reinstall the XP operating system and use the ORIGINAL OEM license to

    turn on the computer.

This is always the case with a copy of WINDOWS 7 Home premium 64-bit disk system integrators.

This disc will allow me to use the license OEM Original on any computer I do a clean install on If I

Its simpler just uninstall what you don't want, its going to be no different from a clean install. You can forget something on the left over registry entries, which is of no consequence and has not been since Windows 9 * days.
