Research of quantities of files

OK, it's a cross-over FM/operating system questions... but I just had a colleague asking "do we have documents about tokenization text? I am convinced that we don't have anything with tokenization his main topic, so nothing with "token" in the name of the file. Unfortunately, I realize that short open each .book containing related information and then, by performing a search, I'm not sort of my library of FM for content scanning. Any ideas?

Content in any file binary FM is still just unicode text. So, you can use any file search tool (for example, wingrep) which analyzes the binary files. Just set it to analyze your file (s) for the term.

to do this is to get this code stinky to work so I can finish this year learning site
    upward.

In short: I posted this problem before and Kglad so with kindness helped me. However,.
now look back on posts, I am lost and need to make it work again with an external
XML file. My tracks, I pull the top of the correct searchCriteria and all of the XML file.

I can't seem to get it to sort the correct accessories == val out and display them.

    You see where I'm stuck? I can't.

    Answered my own Question:

The attached code is the result to find an XML file that has worked for me.
I'll try and comment on the best that I can in case someone else can use it.

    Set up:
    (1) principal. SWF file loads my search.swf file

    (2) a component search.swf component dynamic to search for text and drop-down box of
    (IE... _global.searchCriteria = dynamicText.text and _global.searchCriteria = componentName.value)
each search field has a button to open the search_results.swf

    (3) search_results.swf contains the actuall research xml and displays the contents of the screen.
    * (Note both search.swf & search_result.swf are loaded in a component loading in main.swf so no screens never change).

If it helps one person, that's going to make it worth it.

  • Export the results of the research of several PDF files

    Hi all

I have a set of over 100 000 documents PDF, and seeks to identify those documents that contain a set of four numbers.  Preforably I would like to export this list in the format in which I can link to each document - ideally an Excel xls document.  Any advice on the export of an index search in Adobe or any other proposed option would be very useful.  Thanks in advance.

    See you soon,.

    Terry

You will need Acrobat X or higher to do this, but here's how I would perform this task:

    (1) create an index of full text of the document as a whole (and I guess your 100K files all contain searchable text content)

    (2) run your search index via the advanced search of Acrobat functionality

    (3) save results to one. CSV file, which was a long-awaited feature that came to Acrobat X

    (4) when you open it. CSV in Excel (you can save as .xls (x) one more flexibility), you will have a list of file names, then a sublist of the page where the search took place

    (5) from there, you'll need to manipulate the data in the Excel worksheet to list the full filepaths for each line, how you should then be able to open the file directly from your Excel sheet.

Doing the open to the exact PAGE Excel sheet is a bit more complex, but it is also possible with some VB scripts.  You can search for it on the web if you want an example of code.

FYI, I approach this concept a little differently in my book, where I use a simple VB script instead of paths, I say just to point out that there are several options to set up the links once you're in Excel.

    Hope that helps!

  • Research of multi help files

    Hi guys,.

I don't think that this is possible without a large part of the knowledge of the script, but I thought I would check before you say no to my client. I create 5 separate help files for a client just with the power of Flash, that I now need to know is there not a creation of a new page in the file I can use the search function to find all 5 help files & the display of the results. Quite complicated, I know, but one of these customer waiting for the world, but does not pay for it.

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate (the output must not remain a FlashHelp, we used for ease of distribution)

    Thanks in advance

I think merged WebHelp or .chm help system is what you are looking for, when you merge projects, search for text across help files is automatically included, if you include the buttons or the search tabs when generating.

  • XML file recovery

So I need help trying to recover a file. I clicked without saving on a lot of work and resulted in losing me a lot of pages of work. Frantically, I searched for ways to find this back but was left empty handed and even brought a software to help recover it but still no result. I found a method which I think may be a possibility to retrieve this information by going to the trash and the research in the recovered files, so I'm hopeful, however the FILE I want TO SAID OPEN it IS XML AND IT IS CORRUPT SO that WORD cannot OPEN it. Search on youtube there is no means to do it on mac, so I need your help guys.

Currently, on a Macbook calculated no laptop, if that makes sense.

    Joey

A Macbook is not 'laptop' makes no sense.

You have not tells us which version of Pages, if you have never saved the file, nor why you try to open a file with Word Pages.

  • Why did my web page jump down and search for programs and files on my computer analysis at the same time? This happens on a regular basis.

I ran scans for malware with malwarebytes and microsoft windows defender and all have developed negative. Also did a clean reinstall of the windows operating system. With the help of a new mouse that works fine on another computer. Am not touch anything on the keyboard when it arrives. It is really strange, when the web page I'm on (the fact on any web page) jumps down. When it happened, I reduced to a minimum the web page and notice that, down to left, research programs, and cursor files under windows 7 is quickly back and forth its own. When this behavior ceases web pages stay normal.

"When it happened, I reduced to a minimum the web page and notice that, down to left, research programs, and cursor files under windows 7 is quickly back and forth its own. When this behavior ceases web pages stay normal. "

    What that looks like?

    Have you tried safe mode?
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  • Search for names of file with Engine.SearchFiles?

I posted my comment to a solved thread: http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/searchfiles/td-p/2364238/page/2

and I don't have a solution. If I post in a new thread now.

Is it possible to search for substring in a file name using the Engine.SearchFiles method? I know, that there is a SearchOptions_RegExpr, but I couldn't know how to search for file names. I can find files that contain expressions, variables etc but not file names.

    So, is it still possible?

SearchFiles is only for research purposes in the files. Take a look at the FindFiles sequence in:

    \Components\Tools\ForEach.SEQ

This sequence search for all files in a directory tree by using direct calls to the WIN32 API. You could probably just call this sequence directly to do what you ask.

  • I have can´t of the cbs.log file

    Hello world

It seems that never ends, now it s the file cbs.log that says access denied.

OK, after you have installed successfully (and finally) sp1 of vista, I ran once more the chkdsk and sfc/verifyonly to verify if everything was ok, as if it was before I ve installed sp1, which was: no no violation of the integrity of the errors found, files damaged, everything seemed just fine for me, but now After installing sp1, the sfc/verifyonly said that Windows found violations of integrity resources Protection and the details are in the cbs.log file, which I was able to access so far, but now, when I try to open it, it says "access denied" - what happened between that made the system go like that and can it be resolved?

Anyway, desperate, I tried a sfc/scanow in the hope that it would solve this problem, this 'thing', well actually he pointed out that the Protection of Windows resources found and managed to repair damaged files and details could be found at c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log, but as I said before when I try to open this file it says access denied.

So I rebooted my pc and hope that everything would be ok, given that the sfc/scannow said that the files when repaired, so I thought. Unfortunately, that s not the way it is, after the reboot, I ran sfc/verifyonly, just to confirm that everything was actually ok, well it still signals once Windows Resource Protection found violations of integrity and the details can be found in the cbs.log file.

Right now my computer seems to work very well, besides that of course, the problem is I m feling completely lost here with this 'thing', it just doesn't feel good and probably it's just me, maybe I m too picky about this stuff, everything must be running ok so I can be at rest with myself, please can someone help me with this , can someone explain me what is happenning, so I can understand it?

I think that worst of all, at least for me, is not to know what is happening, it s as I have, I would even say obcessive, need to understand not only the solution but most of all the cause of it, the mechanism of it s, I need to understand the process, don't´t you all?

    Pleeaase helps.

    Well be Pedro Borba

    Pedro Borba,
You must copy the CBS and paste it on your desktop or Documents folder.  Then, open the copied version of the file.  Here is an article which also gives instructions on reading and research the CBS log file.

  • Folder with the files not appearing not on the desk, but "seek" shows them there?

My 'research' shows my music files and the file, they have to be on my desk. In addition, my Winamp plays these files and shows that they are also on my desk. But I don't see the folder, or files on the desktop.

Maybe two icons are above the other?  Try right click on an empty area of the desktop, and then select "rearrange icons by '-> Type and make sure that the folder appears.

If this does not work, see if you can see the file in the
    C:\Documents and Settings\\Desktop
    folder.

  • Windows Explorer stops responding when you access file downloads

I'm having a problem with the Windows Explorer does not when I try to access the downloads folder. The problem seems related to a file, a Java .exe file I downloaded. Explorer hangs up as soon as I try to do something with this file, I can't even remove it. I got out the folder other files in desktop and using research and move the file, but when I try to do something with this file, Explorer crashes again.

No video file in the folder, the file problem seemed to be a Java update file. I managed to remove using an third-party uninstall program, and the problem seems to have disappeared. My best guess is that the update program has been altered during the download.

  • The files have been moved to the temp folder, but now they're gone!

When my computer did its last update, it changed everything and all my documents in my office were missing. After some research, I found the files under my username and content of the temp folder. (I know little or nothing to the computer) I just dragged and dropped on my desk and everything was fine, but when I stopped and restarted my computer, my office was returned to what it was originally, but this time all folders were empty and the files that I had slipped into the 'new' office have disappeared! OK, so I went into the folder users again, but this time the temporary folder is missing. I found a folder called temp somewhere else, but this did not help at all because it was empty. I tried a system restore, but it didn't help me to recover my files. Help!

It seems that you have logged in the temporary user profile. In the temporary profiles, no data is stored permanently and the data stored in each session are deleted once the user disconnects.

  • Limit the search to only the files with the exact search term

I have Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 and I hate this search feature.  Is it at all possible to restrict it to precisely the name of the file I'm looking for?  Say, for example, I'm looking for a folder called "the gate".  Is it possible to continue the research to return each file with the words or door in it?  I don't mind if it returns the file formats different but 732 files returned by the word or door.  Help would be greatly appreciated.

If you mean that you are looking for a name of file exactly and not only a phrase without worrying, you can get what you want if you use a special syntax, and include the file name extension:

    name: = "door.txt.

Note that we have no ability to distinguish between upper and lower case sensitive in Windows 7 search.

If you want to match the name regardless of their file extension, you need a wildcard character, the asterisk.  However, the "equal" sign does not accept wildcards, but the tilde then otherwise as equal to sign for correspondence.

    name: ~ "the door.*.

  • Domain network cannot activate file sharing and print?

    Hi all

I get an error message when you try to share a folder "an error has occurred. trying to share folderxxx Incorrect function ". After research I see that file and printer sharing is not enabled.

I went to control panel | Network and sharing Center. Advanced settings - sharing on the "Discovery of the network" and "File and printer sharing" I select "turn on...» "for one or the other and save changes - but neither is saved! Ebb in advanced sharing settings both return to "Turn off"... "State. (I am local and domain admin).

Windows 7 computer is joined to a domain and the firewall settings are defined mainly through Group Policy, although local settings are allowed (merged).

I would add that I can access the admin shares (c$, d$) on the computer without problem on the network so advanced in this regard firewall settings are ok.

At a loss as to why file and printer sharing will not allow?  Thank you.

I found what was wrong or the problem.

During the process of deployment of our new systems Windows 7 wipe us the rules of default outgoing firewall who do seem to not be a problem because outbound connections have been set by default to "allow". But we have learned that only when outbound rules for file sharing and printer available (enabled or not) can share news can be created.

After the creation of the joint ownership, these outbound rules can be removed and sharing still works fine to keep rules to incoming traffic.  I guess this is normal, but it is not quite make sense to me why the outbound rules are explicitly required for files and printers share when you create a share... but that is what has worked for us.

  • Whenever I try to search in Windows Explorer, the files listed do not have the requested content.

    Hello.

One of my end-users using Windows search in Explorer to search for a particular value (> 8).  Once the search is complete, several files are listed, but when it opens in Word 2010 and looks exactly the same value, it is said that the value is found.  Why the world is happening?  What research watch hidden in files, or only the visible content attributes?
    Thank you.

The content property is not available on the upper level, less than, or other symbols comparative.  You can only search for characters.    And if you try to find the real character > itself, which does not work well.  The only non-alphanumeric characters that are available are ____, /, and -(I have tested the symbols on the keyboard).

Update: I have found since the other characters are available, using a special syntax.  For example:

    content: ~ = "> 8"

Who would find files that contain characters specific > 8 anywhere, as long as they are together in this order.

[Update: apparently special search symbols such as ~ = do not work with the content when property indexed research places, but work during the search in unindexed locations.]

And another thing, simply chokes Windows 7 Search on the search for Word files when these same Word files are open, especially if they are in a folder with a large number of files, if I remember that well.
