    Hello!

I would like to ask how can I reset the bios by the reset CMOS battery mode because it won't work with update.exe bios feeding for download in the section driver Toshiba.
I tried with windows 7 and it did not work.
I learned that the Cmos battery is this orange thing stuck on the motherboard.

The reason why I want to do is because I got my bios possibly without password for awhile and I'm afraid that someone might be infected with a virus.

A general question: could an infected organ my bios or bios load sound on my computer my operating system and infect it too or not?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Kind regards

    > I would like to ask how can I reset the bios by the clear CMOS battery mode
    Something like this isn't possible.
Do not remove the CMOS battery. This may affect the functionality of your laptop and can damage the motherboard

    > The reason why I want to do is because I got my bios possibly without password for awhile and I'm afraid that someone might be infected with a virus.

Sorry mate but I really don t understand this fear. Don t worry!

I can't imagine that something like that might be possible

  • How to reset CMOS/BIOS Satellite L30-134?

    Portable satellite L30-134

Did a stupid thing earlier and started putting my supervisor for the BIOS password when my 8 month old was sitting on the couch next to me... Well, the next thing I know his hands where all over the keyboard, then press the ENTER key was pushed, aaaahhhhh! The password is now set and I ain't got a clue what it is.

So my question: How to reset the CMOS/BIOS to lose the password or is there another way around him?

Would like to thank all appreciated help/remedies.

    TIA

    Graham

    It is not possible.
The entire passwords must be removed before you start with the update of the BIOS.
Sorry, but if you don t know the password you cannot delete it and the BIOS update procedure will not work!

ASP in your country is a last chance for the removal of the password. Guys are able to remove the password. It shouldn't be very expensive.

  • Reset CMOS causing BIOS reload settings default "by reason of BIOS update or checkum problem"

I forgot my BIOS supervisor password. So, I reset the CMOS (Clear CMOS) memory and now cannot do all CMOS changes are saved.  At startup, there is now a message that says "default BIOS settings have been refilled to the update problem or BIOS checksum."

-There was a BIOS update when the PC was new

    -Recently upgraded to Windows 7

-Don't visit the HP section for my Pavilion (a6863w) and saw and for under Win 7 CD writer firmware update and update that

    Speculation:

The message indicates that the BIOS can be protect themselves following the Clear CMOS, or possible another update of the firmware?  Original clear possible update BIOS?  Why control error and go to a preset CMOS?

It is uncertain whether this question should be asked to HP or AMD. 9150e Athlon (TM)

    Hanspuppa,

I started to pull the CMOS battery to check on a voltmeter when, under a strong light, I finally realized that the configuration of jumpers PIN is inverted for blocks PWD NET and CLEAR CMOS.  The pins are arranged for CLAIRE PWD 123 and 321 to CLEAR CMOS.  The first image of the instructions (below) is the Basic setting for jumpering 12 CMOS and CMOS_PWD pins.  I missed the pin numbering sequence on the CLEAR CMOS and thought they were in the same order as the CLEAR_PWD block.  (i.e. the CMOS could not be reset because pine 23 were closed when they were believed to be 12).    I wanted to add one suggestion for others who may run into this.  Maybe could avoid any confusion with the text to explain that, in addition to a third of images showing (copy of the first) the return to basic configuration.  The cause of the confusion about this wsa being not not able to read all the pin codes and believe incorrectly that the two blocs would have pins arranged in a similar sequence when they are not.

See Attention to detail!  Click to expand the Clear CMOS or clear CMOS_PWD.

My apologies to all those who have looked into this.

Two nearly adjacent jumper blocks have a reverse PIN.  After the erase (reset), they must be reset as indicated below.  I may have issues pending on the update of the BIOS under Win7.

  • Help! Aurora R4 BIOS upgrade, post after reset CMOS

In preparation for the installation of my new GTX970, I decided to update the bios on my R4 Aurora. I started bios a02 and upgraded to a05. Restart the new bios could not find my HARD drive. I ran the software post-diag and checked everything very well, my HARD drive was in the list and was checked off as OK. My hypothesis was that something was wrong with the upgrade of the BIOS so I decided to reset and start again...

To reset the BIOS, I swapped the CMOS of 1-2 and 2-3 Horseman after 10 seconds. Now, when I try to start the screen is black and I get the error beep 5 (resettlement or replace the CMOS battery).

That's what I did to try to fix it until now:

    • Reinstall the CMOS battery
    • Pull the CMOS battery, sauter jump reset, then replace CMOS battery
    • Replace the dough CMOS (new battery)
    • Disconnect all components except for the video and the RAM, battery CMOS replace
    • Disconnect all components except for the video and 1 stick of Ram, reinstall the CMOS battery

After that each rider reset the pc starts to boot up, then after a few seconds will restart. When it restarts I'm stuck at a black screen and 5 beeps.

Update! I reinstalled everything once more and now I get video and there is no more than beep. But I'm stuck on the screen of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology and cannot continue.

I tried pressing f12 during the boot and could not enter the boot parameters.
By pressing the shortcut of on the intel RST screen does nothing.

Thank you all. It turns out that all I had to do was to change the hard drive in legacy mode and it starts fine.

  • was reset CMOS accidentally computer power with jumper to reset, now all I get is 2 sec, beep every 2 sec.

    Hello

The threads have been merged since they are both on the same subject.

As most high is not a Windows problem.

Contact the system manufacturer or the manufacturer of the motherboard (for custom systems).

Or refer to a real computer store (the one that makes its own domestic service on this
brand/type of system and not of the leeks and peaks at a Best Buy or other large surfaces
    Stores).

  • After say - and reconnecting battery CMOS, power supply T400s has stopped working

    Hi all

A few days ago, I had to say and then plug back the CMOS battery. After putting my T400s back together, the power supply in power did not work more (the computer is plugged in and power cable works fine with other computers, but it will not provide power to the T400s). Cannot charge the battery either!

A I unplug/break something in my quest for reset CMOS? There are simple things that I could try to get it working again?

    Thank you very much

    K

It doesn't have to be plugged into the power problem, but a discharge of static electricity isolated were able, then you could also try to reset the bios of the laptop again by removing the cmos battery.

Most likely, you've killed one of the power circuit element when you tried to remove the cmos battery without first statically discharging yourself.

  • Pavilion dv6 2170 clock problem after replacing the CMOS battery

Hello world. Sorry for my bad likely English

OK, so the problem started since I changed my laptop CMOS battery. and to be honest it wasn't whit any problem the clock when I replaced it but I if this may be the cause of another problem that later I figuered what the problem was because of the RAM.

in any case, I changed the Rams and this problem has been resolved. I just set the clock of the BIOS and rebooted the system. After awhile I figuered that windows clock is not fair. I restarted again and saw the BIOS clock. It has been reset for 2009! even when the laptop battery and power supply are attached the BIOS and windows continues to change clock! I even changed my windows and I replaced the CMOS battery with the former, but nothing helped. It seems really strange, but I don't think it's maybe a hardware problem there a driver or something for the CMOS battery... need your help! Thank you!

You mentioned that the BIOS has been reset for 2009? This means that there is a problem with the current or any leak and the BIOS has been "reset" back at the root of the plant. I'm afraid you have shorted something when you changed the battery not be grounded.

Worst case is that there is physical damage to your motherboard and there is nothing you can do about it, probably broken a capacitor - who cannot hold a charge to prevent the reset of the BIOS clock.

    However, you can try this.

Completely, unplug your computer, remove the laptop battery, etc... Then browse 'Guide' your computer for the "hard physical reset" for your CMOS. I don't know what it's like on a laptop, I only did it on desktop with riders. Be sure to follow the directions precisely.

-Make sure you are properly grounded. touch the metal parts that is grouned before touching anything on your computer.
-the hard reset should be done for at least 30 seconds, this ensures that the power is completely served the system. Then you can set this back.

Try this a couple of times, first without removing the CMOS battery and 2nd time after remove CMOS battery and placing it in.

    Good luck.

BTW, you can also try running without your new memories (if there is more than 1 stick, try them separately). In fact, I would probably try first before doing a hard reset CMOS. The reason why I didn't say earlier, it's because I have assumed that you already tried this.

  • How can I change the Admin account if I don't have the password or the reset disk?

The original disk to reinstall vista are missing.  Is there something I can do?  Maybe reset CMOS (?) or Windows it a substitute?

    Hello

I'm sorry, but the strategy of microsoft in these forums is that without assistance will be given about lost or forgotten passwords

read the policy at the link below

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-security/keeping-passwords-secure-Microsoft-policy-on/a5839e41-b80e-48c9-9d46-414bc8a8d9d4

    you need to reinstall vista

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
