• Filling the prompt values according to other dashboard invites

  Hi friends,
  In my scenariao, I need two guests of dashboard in my report. (1) exercise 2) date range
  
  When the user selects an exercise of the first prompt, another prompt that is falling down and "in between" operator defined, should show only dates coming in this exercise. I don't use calendar here coz we only 26 Date for a year, and we want the user to select dates only from these dates.

  Hi Toony, if I understand your situation, well, it's a solution. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  If you want to restrict the list items in the second prompt according to the first prompt, you must check the box to 'Coercion' to line 2.
  When you select an item in the Prompt1, the constraint for 2 Guest option, ensures to fill only list items that fall into the selected category of guest 1.
  Ex: If Prompt 1 for the country and fast 2 belongs to the States. When you select US Prompt 1, then 2 Prompt shows only the United States.

  If this isn't what you wanted, then you must explicitly pass the presentation 1 prompt Variable to the fast 2.

  Taking the example above, States and countries.
  Pass the value read from the country in a variable of presentation - pCountry and save this prompt as guest country

  Create an another command prompt to the States. In the Show menu pull-down select the results of SQL and write a query something like that.
  (Select distinct States of where country = ' @{pCountry} {U.S.}) "). Save this prompt under the guest of the State.

  The way it works is when you select a country from the country prompt and press the GO button, it passes the variable pCountry for prompt presentation of State and triggers the query to fill the drop down.

  The netstat command response confuses me much since I found (and also of external) record for TCP Local address (should be < IP localhost >: 9704), which lead me to the point that, probably one of the OBIEE 11 g services not started OR I made a mistake during installation of OBIEE 11 g, although the system did not send a message about this possibility. BTW, the BI Publisher on this machine works correctly.

  Not able to open the IAM blog you referred to above.

  Make sure that you have deployed the analyticsRes component as shown in http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/bi/bi1113/customizing_obiee11g/customizing_obiee11g.htm. Create a folder called produced under analyticsres and start accessing images.

• Report dimensional hierarchy opens in a new window rather than the same window of dashboard in obiee

  I created a hierarchy of dimension in obiee and created a report in analytics.

  I placed this report in a dashboard. But when I click on the hierarchy column it expands the hierarchy as expected but in a separate window rather than in the same window.

  If you are using a standard drill on the column hierarchy (without action) follow this path:

  • Open the page of dashboard for editing.
  • Find the section where your report.
  • Check the section "Drill in Place.

  I need like that. Whenever a user disconnects and connects to the back the user should see the page of dashboard only.
  
  Currently I give them a URL such as http://xxxx:29704/analytics/saw.dll?Dasboard when they connect with this URL, they are taken directly to the dashboard page, but, as soon as the user disconnects and connects to the back of the user is redirected to the Home Page (http://xxxx:29704/analytics/saw.dll?BIEEHome) that they shouldn't see.
  
  specifically, the user should always see the only dashboard pages.

  Have you tried using CHEMINPORTAIL for all users, in this case, the given dashboard would be the landing page.
  If it does not off you have to go to other URLs related settings...

  Let me know if this does not work for you.

  You can reorder pages within a dashboard in 11 g.
  (1) change the Dasbhoard and go to dashboard properties.
  (2) you will see the list of pages and reorder the pages to your list.

  The way I do now is to set a default value in the command prompt. But the problem is, sometimes, users will go to the command prompt, delete the default value & then run the report. This causes the report to do a 'select all' and slows down the reports.

  CArnold, David made several good points certainly make sure that we will solve the problem and not just the symptom.

  That being said, I just made a blog post here on a concept that could help you. Keep in mind, the method I describe works better with 10 or if the values. I've never used with 54, but it can work for you. The basic objective is that it shows you how to make guests from database check box. The method will force you to have at least 1 check box selected. But with 54 check boxes, it can be a little intimidating to users. I'll let you decide.

  We used weblogicPlugin 1.1 to configure the reverse proxy for our 64-bit using IIS 7.5 weblogic server. WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.6.0. We see the error "resolveRequest: application ' / analytics/saw.dll/answers/saw.selections.xml' has not been sent." Found OR '?', or ';' in URI "in the IIS Proxy log.

  This question is regardless of the browser and get to each broser we tested. Users should click on the error message loading XML Web page pop for about 20 times to see the dashboard.

  By Oracle Support suggestion, I installed Oracle HTTP server (OHS) and the problem is solved. For now, the problem is solved but SITEMINDER SSO and Siebel IFRAMES should be tested with OSH being the web server now.
