Resize multiple images if it is large enough, with actions?

Hello!

I work in an architecture firm, and I need to resize a batch of images in our database. We are talking about 40,000 images, but is not the obstacle.

Previously, I did something that resizes my images in two steps, because I need them in two different qualities

When I open the image and performs the action, there is no something like this:

  1. Conversion mode: convert RGB
  2. Save: JPEG, file 10 and a certain quality
  3. Image size: width 800px, constrain proportions
  4. Save: JPEG quality 8 and in another folder
  5. Close

Now, I want to make a change to this action, by resizing the image twice rather than once.
I want it to look like this:

  1. Conversion mode: convert RGB
  2. Image size: 4000px width, constrain proportions

(BUT ONLY if THE SIZE of the IMAGE IS QUITE GREAT, OTHERWISE LEAVE as it IS)

  3. Save: JPEG, file 10 and a certain quality
  4. Image size: width 800px, constrain proportions
  5. Save: JPEG quality 8 and in another folder
  6. Close

How can I do this? I must add a variable or?

I really hope that someone can help me?

Kind regards
Tommy Frost

Tommy If you access the website of Russell Brown the script he named Image Processor Pro.  The script should work in CS5 by looking at the code it looks not like it requires Photoshop 12 or higher CS5 is 12. For cs had 8 cs2 9, cs3 10, 11, 6, 13 and 14 of the CC cs cs4.  During the installation of this plugin script appears in Photoshop File menu > Automate > Image Processor Pro.  This script can save as many images you need for you image files.  It can make resizes it you need and you can convert it to sRGB and set the jpeg quality when you save jpeg files.  This batch script is not limited to JPEG, file format, it can handle any image file and can save multiple formats of image files.  Of course everything can process RAW files, it cannot save raw files.  An executed batch is not limited to a single file format, a mix of formats of input files is fine.  Formats of output files can be most of the files in Photoshop supported format. You can also have the Pro process Images include an action for each output file before or after that option resizing images.

  • Resizing multiple images in photoshop cs5

Hi all I'm new to the forum and looking for some advice. I need to resize images about 500 down to fit inside in a square of 600px X 600px. The images are all different sizes earlier, the more they are all of a different form, IE. Some are more square and some are more rectangular. If it was a square image should resize to 600px 600px, but if it was retangle it would resize to something like 400px by 600px so it would fit inside the square 600px 600px.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and using Photoshop CS5. I had a search on the net but could not find any information on how to do this when all the images are the same shape to start.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

You can use the file-> Scripts-> Image Processor for this

  • How to merge multiple images into a single document and place them on the bottom

I am trying to merge multiple images in a single document and arrange them on this document and save it.  Is it still possible?  There are five black and white drawings that I've resized at all have the same size.  Tutorials that I looked at, but it seems that everyone has another way to do this and all are very confusing.  Thanks for your help.

It is not surprising that "everyone has a different way to do this." In Photoshop that is common. Try this:

    1. open a new file large enough to accommodate five drawings.

    2. open each design, click on it in the layers panel and drag and drop it in the layers panel to the new file.

    3. Repeat until all are in the new file

    4. use the move tool to reposition. (They are on separate layers)

5 flatten the file if you wish (but save a version not flattened for future editing)

  • display multiple images in Labview front panel

    Hi all

I have an application in which I want to show multiple images (say, 16) on the façade of labview (thumbnail is preferable). I want to show some information about the image (like their quality and the index number). Now if the user double clicks on a thumbnail of the image then I want to choose this particular image for further processing.

Could someone tell me please how to do this?

I see several approaches here.  We need to start by a group of 16 indicators of photo.  Put the photos in them.  There are several ways to scale to the size of the thumbnails.  The simplest is probaby the ZoomFactor of an image property.  One of the toolkits - Vision, I think - includes functions to resize the images.  There are also screws posted on this forum to do simple image and someone recently released most of the code to do with .NET.  You can then seek a double click on any of these images and determine where the user has clicked.  I think you can find the sample code to detect a double-click; the basic idea is that you look two mouse events down within a certain period of time by using a structure of the event.

Another method would be a single picture control displaying multiple images.  You want to search for two clicks to the same place (or very close to the same place) in a certain period of time, then determine the image that is displayed for this place.  A good start for it would be Ben emoticon display VI http://forums.ni.com/t5/BreakPoint/Starware-A-new-concept/m-p/616094?view=by_date_descending#M4595

    Hi Francois,.

I made a small example VI on how you assemble images together like that.

The VI allows the user to select several image files, load them in turn, creates an image large enough to hold all the, then copy the smaller images in the big picture, the appropriate X value compensation.

    I hope this should help!

  • Resize the image sources - change the size of the images database

    Hi all

I have a trivial problem, but I can't deal with it. I have a project with compositions called slides. Each slide have JPG image as layer and this image is assigned 100% to 106% Resize effect (two keyframes). The images have their own folder. I need to replace all the images but the problem is that the new images have different sizes, for the most part, they are bigger than originals. When I right-click the imported images directly on I don't see any options to change their size (single space reserved or solid). When I double click them to open it in a new tab I don't see no resizing tool and layer menu is grayed out for the most part.

So far, I found that I have three possibilities:

    1. resize as a layer in the composition of each slider. Unfortuately I don't see any way to change the database size, so resize here means add another keyframe or change existing. If I change the first keyframe on the layer in the composition of the slide then I have to proportionally resize the last of them. There are about 20 slides this process would be quite painful

    2. resize the images before importing - with PSP, GIMP or same IrfanView. It would be a much better solution than before however, this means a blind resizing - without no preview as the composition. Whenever I want to change the size a bit, I have to import image again. Painful.

3 convert the images to the compositions,

Convert each JPG file in composition, put this composition as the layer to each composition drag next to layer JPG, transformation of copy of layer of JPG to the composition of the image layer and delete the JPG layer. Long process but the effect is exaclty as I want and the project is fairly durable for any other modification of the image. However, in larger projects where there are many effects assigned to layers, it would be very painful.

So is there an easy way to change the sizes of the imported images database? I can't believe that in such a huge program like After Effects, there is no way for such a simple task. I believe firmly im just something missing.

You can resize your layers in Ae with scale parameter. (transform-> scale). If there is no animation, you need not place a keyframe. for example, you can resize your layer to 46% and decide to evolve for a while, so the first keyframe will be 46%, and the last keyframe is 83%.

Yes, I know that if you have layer with no keyframes for the scale property then scaling ways to change the size of its base. However, in my example, I have two frames - 100% and 106%. If I import large image so I have to resize. If im on the first keyframe, and then it wil change its size to 100% for example, 56%. But the last keyframe is not changed - its still 106%. So that means animation past from 56% to 106% - image develops much more quickly than in an original animation.

But now I found that I can select all the points of the keyframe by clicking on the entire property scale and resize proportionally when I resize the image, all the points of the keyframe. It's the simplest and most effective solution for me!

    Thanks for the help!

  • Resizing of Image CS6 problems

I tried to resize these images, I bought on shutterstock for a book cover, and every time that I go to image > image size and put in smaller dimensions, it is resized my canvas together and not only the image! Can someone help me? This seems like an easy solution, but for some reason that I can't understand why it is not just resize my image. I tried Ctrl T and then enter the corner while the change of outfit and that will work, but my problem is when I export as .psd file and then place it in an Indesign file, the photos are all pixelated and blurry.

You get a better understanding of basic Digital Image Processing and how Photoshop works.  Photoshop is quite complex and all operations are not intuitive.  Photoshop has to be learned and a huge learning curve, you need to understand the basics. Power of Photoshop is in layers and there are several types.  Tool generally work on a single layer, but the size of the Image is an exception, it works on all layers in a document.

Image resizing is done in two ways, and is controlled by the resample checkbox.  When the checkbox is unchecked is not that a single Pixel will be changed . The picture is adjusted simply by changing the value of resolution of images.  The size of the image is change by changing the pixel size images will be printed. More you pixels the image will print the image will become soft, but if you use 1 foot x 1 foot pixels, you may be able to see the image 100 yards away on a billboard.  When the same image printed with "1/300 of 1/300" 90 000 pixels per square inch would be a simple point seen 100 yards away.   Scalability and the image by changing the Image resolution doe not change the proportions of images or effect the image quality.

The other dimensions of the part resizes using resampling (interpolation).   When interpolate you an image you always lose image quality.   Not a single pixel you have for your image will be exist at the end of the process of interpolation.  You will have a whole new image. Celles‑CI are calculated by interpolation of pixels you currently for you image.  You will have more pixels or fewer pixels you had before the process of interpolation.  If you have less interpolation process by here a few details that you had prior to interpolation.  If you have more pixels the details of the created process interpolation for your image you do not capture the details, maybe. You can also change the proportions of the Image in the process will distort the image well.

There are times to interpolate.  Images large high-resolution camera has reduced in the count of pixels to fit in the Web Pages for screens are not able to change the size in pixels. They display the image to their fixed resolution, they cannot display an image in the images resolution setting.

If you want to view print clogs and personal to see the details of the image, you need to print at a high resolution and the need for the number of pixels to print the image to the size you want.  If the count of pixels you in deca interpolation upward in size can improve the print quality.

How much image quality is lost by interpolation has a lot to do with how changing the grid size is.  If you through way too you some detailed left you create too many details, you have a soft blur.

Convert your Image layer to a smart object layer and change just the scale layer live free transform and trim add a layer mask. Smart object layer pixel may not be actually interpolated just processing the composite view of dynamic object layer be changed.  In this way, you can change the transformation as several times if necessary and you worry about loss of image quality accumulates for the image of the dynamic object is still not turned the last transformation interpolation.
