  Analytic Functions : -.

  Analytical functions calculate a value of aggregation based on a group of lines. They differ from aggregate functions because they return several rows for each group.   Aggregate functions return a line of single result based on the groups of lines, rather than on the unique lines. Aggregate functions can appear in selection lists, as well as in the HAVING and ORDER BY clauses. They are commonly used with the GROUP BY clause in a SELECT statement, where Oracle Database splits the rows in a table when asked or seen in groups. In a query that contains a GROUP BY clause, the select list items can be aggregation functions, GROUP BY constant expressions or expressions involving one of them. Oracle applies the functions of aggregation for each group of rows and returns a single result for each group line.
  If you omit the GROUP BY clause, Oracle then applies any aggregate functions in the select list for all rows in the table queried or the view. You use aggregate functions in the HAVING clause to eliminate groups of the output based on the results of aggregate functions, rather than the values of the individual lines of the queried table or view.

  Note that this answer is ONLY a WORKAROUND for a very serious problem.  The real problem is that the latest version of Adobe Reader is unusable.  So I start a new thread with the title "the latest version of Adobe Reader is unusable".

  I use a desktop Windows 7 computer, and I had the same problem.  Yesterday I updated my Adobe Reader software, and all PDFs look absolutely atrocious with the new player - in the same way that you describe.  My eyes water when I try to read them!  It's not the files - it is the new player, because they are all files that were perfect with the old version.

  I am a professional computer, so instead of panic (the new version is completely unusable!) I searched on the website of Adobe and found a way to download the installation for earlier versions files. Try this link - it could still be good:

  Select the options that you need (operating system, version, language) and give it a go.

  You will need to uninstall your current version (use Control Panel configuration/programs and features), because the installer will not install an older version over a newer version.

  What is the difference between a bird and an OWL?  An OWL is a special type of a bird.  All owls birds, but not all birds are fun.

  Similarly, a function is a particular type of expression.  All functions are expressions, nut not all expressions are functions.

  In fact, the CAST is a function, but you're not wrong when you say "CAST is an expression.

  Maybe you wanted to say, not MOUNT.  CASE expressions are expressions, but not the functions.
