Resolution of sketch in Illustrator

Hi guys,.

I love working with sketches, but when I import the file into a file the resolution illustrator is poor. It would be ok for web design, but it doesn't resist to printing needs.

Clues? Can I export the sketch as a .svg?

Thanks in advance - Jon

Jon,

It is not a work around for this. And, no, it is not possible yet to import brushes in Draw.

Sorry I don't have a better answer.

Sue.

  • How do you change the resolution of the CC Illustrator?

I don't want the resolution of the images, but the resolution of the application itself. I just launched Illustrator CC on this laptop for the first time and it by default a resolution that is much smaller than the default resolution for my laptop.

Please let me know if anyone knows how to solve this problem.

I don't think so. It is only these factors 150% or 200%. See this thread for further discussion and a response from the staff:

  • Import of high-resolution images of ArcGIS (PC) to Illustrator C4 (Mac)-"Cannot take place due to an error" / "the file size is too big.

I make a great conference poster that will contain images of ArcGIS. The poster will be 92 "x 42" and Imaging will cover 91 by 22 in the page. The problem is that I need very high resolution for imaging, but illustrator won't import my files. I use ArcGIS 10.3 on Windows 10 and Illustrator C4 with OS X 10.11.1 (El Capitan). I was not able to import any .tiff file into illustrator (is this possible?) and I get "cannot take place due to an error" or "the file is too big" errors when I try to put .jpeg, .png, .ai files exported from the GIS. I think that the problem is due to the differentoperating systems, rental However, can I open and edit (resize etc.) files in preview without any problem, so there is also a problem with Illustrator. The files that I use are more than 150 MB at 300 dpi, but I really prefer to use 600 dpi, Illustrator can't handle these files sizes? I don't want to lose the resolution using .jpeg, .pdf, etc., many types of compression will cause problems with vector layers from ArcGIS.  Please notify!

Update your AICS4 to something with the ability to access more than 3 GB of memory RAM as CS6 or above. You'll never work with CS4, at least not to the resolution as you seem to think you need. Indeed, you could probably use 150ppi or the bottom of the poster and not obviously nothing to lose. And for the record, I worked for 17 years for the USGS working with ARCGIS and AI.

  • Problems sharing in Adobe Illustrator for iPad (low resolution)

I work with a high resolution photo in Adobe Illustrator drawing App for iPad. In the photo I'm creating vector graphics with integrated brush, then when you're done, trying to share/export the picture/drawing in its version high resolution. I went through all (I think) all share options, only to find out my photo and graphic vector were reduced to a tiny PNG. I would like to print these images on a large scale, but am doing so based on the problems that I have described.

The sharing features are intended for platforms where matter the size of the file, such as Facebook, Behance or whatnot.

To obtain the version high quality of the images, you will need to send them to Illustrator or Photoshop. And you need a CC version to be able to do.

  • Sketch for the draw?

is it possible to export a project from photoshop sketch draw illustrator, without saving each image and use it as a photo later?

Currently, there are only one layer in Photoshop sketch. (Brooke Francesi announced 20 layers to come!)

Exports to CC of Photoshop and Illustrator CC only.  Currently, the applications do not share the project libraries or formats.

I like the idea of tho.   Maybe you should post this as a feature request !

  • Cs6 save the file for the printer company

Question on master Parent AI file, or art presented in another file I send to the printer?

I created a leaflet (2.83x11) that I can now add 3 to a sheet of 8.5 x 11 for 3 leaflets per leaf.  When I save the master flyer (the 2.83x11), I crushed my text in text outlines to 1200 dpi and rasterized my art at 400 DPi and then saved the file. Ok

Then I open a new Board art 8.625 x 11.13 (to bleed) printing on the edge (border less) then place my Flyer 3 times on my plan of work and when I'm going to save this option to send to the printer here in lies my question (s)

    1. when I record a new workplan with a related Parent file this related info will save the file so that when my (printer) opens this file I. I bring the file Parent bound with it too on my USB key? Or the artboard will save all the contours and raster art on 8.65x11 the work plan?

Take me to a second question

    2. when I go to save this new artboard flyer and 8.5 x 11. I'm asked or warned of 72 dpi rasterization of the newly placed flyer to be saved and then placed in the 1200 and 400 dpi in as mentioned above. But I think I should go effect > rasterize > high or other (fill in PPP)

Here's the question if I save which place Parent, or the linked file and then rasterize, choosing 1200 as is the text of the first file is saved, it errors and says big enough to rasterize the 1200 dpi.  IF I rasterize say 400 dpi does now that sharp text I saved in the Parent bound 1200 file?   In other words how save you this file as it is stored in the master or the parent Flyer when you place it on a work plan for a printer?

    CS6 AI not cloud.

Here's what I do.  I would like to see the screenshots of the dialog where you are notified to rasterize.  But, that aside except (ad I will continue when I have more time), the text in the presentation are vector curves.  No need to convert to text converted to outlines.  Leave the direct text, unless the printer ask contours.  When you generate the PDF file, the text becomes incorporated.  Resolution is located in the "exit".  You set the resolution of pixelation in Illustrator, if you applied some type of effects of rasterization (such as shadows).  It is, as far as I know, a maximum of 300 PPI in pixelation effects.  In General, when using a CTP (computer-to-plate) pre-press, a 5080dpi output resolution is common to generate a point as thin as 150 lines per inch.  Now get you to a point where you can understand the fundamentals and they understand no pixelation.  No deer at the level of the sender.

  • Mask - without clipping contours

    Hey guys,.

Hopfeully is not a simple question for you.

I tried to create a block of moleskine sketch in Illustrator CS4. I imported a texture, pathed the contours of an image, created a clipping mask, lowered opacity and specify a gradient to create a shadow between the two pages.

    Moleskine.JPG

In the moment, I've defined the contours to 0, 5pt but I would ask a brush so there will be more 'summary', as hand-drawn.

Unfortunately, I am not able to apply a brush. Anyone have an idea why and a solution?

    Thank you

    Max

Just found an another cheat. In the layer panel, open the layer and find the clipping group. Select the Group and the dialog box add new Stroke to the group. Open the group, and then drag the point of appearance (gray button on the right) for the appearance of clipping mask point. The race appears on the clipping mask.

  • Question about the use of brushes

Hello. I sketch in Illustrator and use a lot of brushes. Every time I am using the pencil tool or a pen and I click to end the line, my brush will automatically return to the straight line by default. I used to be able to choose a brush (e.g. the soft line) and sketch a picture with this brush until I select a new brush. Someone told me I can change the settings, but I don't see anything in there to set the brush to use the current brush. Help, please. Believe it or not, a lot of time is lost, because I have to choose my brush every time, plus the size of the brush.

In the context menu of the appearance Panel clear new art has basic appearance.

Now each time you select a brush for painting or pencil too the next line will be the same as the previously selected brsh.

    Hello

I read all the previous forum posts on this topic and am still not able to send the draw Illustrator draw or sketch in Photoshop.

The iPad says "sent", but the mac always responds "unable to receive the device file. Please send again"

    I have

    • resigns in my account CC of the iPad and Mac to ensure that the correct account is signed in

    • Look for the app - no avaiable updates
    • disabled the firewall on the Mac
    • has tried my institutional Web link and connection at home to check that this is not a problem of institutional firewalls.

Is there anything else I can try? I'm trying to learn to use it somewhere and it's frustrating and disheartening for students when these things do not work as it should and as yet, no work around to get the files to Illustrator/ch

    Thank you all

  • Illustrator CC 2015 has made change the resolution settings?

    Hello world

First post on these forums! I recently updated my CC until 2015. When you work in Illustrator, I noticed that the display resolution appears to have understood grainy. I noticed this because I work on a retina display macbook from 2014, and I'm used to all what you are looking for very smooth. I wonder if there was some kind of change in Illustrator in the 2015 CC version that could be the cause of this grain. Or, if there was some settings that have been restored in the update I have to change it back. Any information or help would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

I don't know if it's the same problem but I noticed right away a difference with the look of my objects in Illustrator when I opened the new 2015 program last week. I disabled the GPU performance in the program preferences (recommended for several reasons, one of them is spontaneous crashes) and the image back to normal. Before if I zoom out a little the lines seemed broken and the text looked like they had additional anchor points. In any case, try to turn this preference off maybe the problem will be solved?

    Hi GANESHKUMARAPILLAI CHRYSTELLE,.

Here is a link for color management workflows in Illustrator.

It is best to place the image instead of paste into Illustrator. When you paste the images they are in RGB color format. Make sure your document is a RGB file

  • Illustrator has this 'sketches and line drawings' under 'object. How is it used and what for? Please enlighten me.

I tried to search and nothing comes up. I can't find even in the manual of the Illustrator. I'm trying to play around with different ways to draw or sketch and clicked on this sketch and line drawing, who always seems to be gray, any image I have on the artboard.

Someone at - he used? Please notify.

  • Line Illustrator CS6 (sketch)

Adobe ideas had the (large) option to open your work in Illustrator CS6, layers and vectors. However, the 'new' (line/sketch) apps seem to neglect the non - CC versions and offer that (layers) PNG files when synchronized to Cloud Creative

The option 'Send to Illustrator' online (and sketch) kind of work... Illustrator CS6 on my iMac and then automatically opens a file, but this statement is empty... The option 'Send to Photoshop' automatically opens the file as a flat pixel, but I (really) prefer to join the vector file "my main workstation" for other adaptations...

In other words... How can I get the files created on my iPad to my iMac, CS6, like vector and preferably in layers...?

    Hi there robertvandewiel!

I'm sorry for the very late reply. The options "send to...". "are compatible with CC CS6 can work in some cases, but it is not supported. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    See you soon!
