Original title: problems of Reboot

When I restart my computer it say "Disk Boot error, if please install disk and press a key:?"

Hello

1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

2. have you changed the BIOS boot device?

3. What is the brand and model of the computer?

This could be related to:

· Startup options is not correctly defined in the BIOS

· A non bootable CD is in your CD player

· You don't have any boot device

· You have installed a new hard drive

· The hard drive is not properly connected

· Your system files have been infected

Change the boot order in the CMOS (BIOS) settings so that your disc is the first in the list.

a. restart the computer.
b. new computers often display a startup (or boot) menu. In the start menu, choose "Configuration of the BIOS," or "BIOS settings," or something similar.

Procedures vary depending on the manufacturer of the BIOS. Usually, you must press a key (for example, F2, F12, DELETE, ESC) or a combination of keys immediately after you
turn on your computer but before Windows starts. If the Windows logo appears, you must try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer again.

c. the BIOS configuration screen appears. On the BIOS Setup screen, choose the option called "Boot order" or something similar. Startup command settings can also be saved
under "Advanced settings" or something similar.
d. Select your drive from DVD or USB drive as first boot device.
e. restart your computer and see if the problem is resolved.

    Hello

Have you tried to reinstall the hard drive if yes. Then the drive is bad & who has need of a replacement.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disc replaced.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

  • No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key

    Hello

I was with boot camp to install 10 Windows from a usb key. The first problem I encountered was an error message stating that Windows supports software could not be downloaded on my flash drive. I read that the necessary drivers could be installed later so I unchecked the box. The part of the installation, then training camp as it should (create a partition etc.)

However, when the Mac went to restart and (probably) to start the program installation of Windows, the error message "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key" displayed. My problem is the wireless keyboard does not respond and the light on this issue seems to suggest that it is not connected. My guess is that the drivers needed, such as Bluetooth are not there.

I'd be happy enough to restart OS x and forget all about Windows, but I can't see how to get around this problem?

    A wired keyboard could work?

    any help is appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

    Max.

A wired keyboard and mouse will work. If you try to install Windows and tried to download the Windows software on a wireless network, try a wired connection. to rebuild your USB Installer.

  • Pavilion dv6 - 7095ca: no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key

Thanks for your help and please excuse my bad English.
Please check item 7, if you're in a hurry. This is the point with my Pavilion DV6 - 7095-CA:

    (1) the operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit), the provided original with my 7095CA Pavilion, more updates HP until 2013, and all Windows updates until July 2015.

    (2) now I can't access the operating system and I have no interface UEFI. I can see that I press F2 at startup, just a test simple disk in BIOS f.0Une (the test shows that the disc is OK)

    (3) return in 2013 it took a drive failure. I did replace the disk and reinstall original Win7, all updates, including the HPS, win7 updates and all my personal software.

    (4) at this time, I bought a spare hard drive and did a complete copy of the disc using Partition Wizard bootable cd. The second disc has been tested and worked perfectly, with all of my personal software on this subject.

So I have 2 HDs identical with the same system on both drives, fully working and tested.

    (5) a few days ago I came across the HP website and made a few updates, including the BIOS f.0Une (the last BIOS update, was of course).

    (6) after BIOS update ran, I received the message "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key".

    (7) I couldn't solve the problem, so I did remove the hard drive and install my backup drive, which lay in a dry place without danger from 2013.

    (8) I turned on the computer and got the same message "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key", and I couldn't find any way to solve this problem.

Now I'm doing a new installation on a third HD everything works very well, so far, in the new facility and I will never buy HP again.

  • Satellite L300D-222: "insert the boot disk and press any key".

    Hello

My laptop froze this morning and so I stopped it when restarting it however, I received the message "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key", what it means?

I didn't not get discs with the laptop, or have I made the recovery discs. The instruction manual says to press f8 when I restart and go to "menu of advanced start", but it doesn't matter. Where should I go from here, is there a program I can download that would have this disc? All my work on the computer will be lost?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello

He looks at the HARD drive died and so the laptop can not boot from the HARD drive but request disk bootable.
But to be sure, you need to access the BIOS (press F2) and check if the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS.
If it s not recognized, then you need a new HARD drive.

The recovery disc can be ordered here:

  • G72 Pavilion. : no boot device. Insert the disk and press any key

My hard drive died recently. I installed a new. Now I'm gettig no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key. What should I do to fix this?

    Hello

If you find your recovery DVD, you can use them to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this is described in the document of HP here.

If you do not, you can order a replacement set by starting at the link below-, the cost can vary a bit depending on where you live, but they are generally inexpensive.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, try to order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Kind regards

  • "this is not a bootable floppy please insert a bootable floppy disk and press a key to try again"

its an IBM machine, connections saved on the hard drive and cd rom they agree.

tried to boot from the value by pressing f8, esc, but his wrong in the boot menu, but when I turn it on it goes directly to the message

    1. In the BIOS, did you put the DVD Rom under the 1st boot device? (If Yes, when you power on some computers will appear a message like "Press any key to boot from CD" and displays only a few seconds).
    2. Are you sure that the physical DVD Rom drive is good? (Have you used it recently before formatting your hard drive?)
    3. Are you sure the CD you trying to start is actually a bootable disc and that's in the drive?

Windows 7 when I turn the laptop it says check cable connection pxe - mof: outgoing intel pxe rom no boot device insert boot disk and press any key

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the laptop?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

Method 1:  Change the boot order in the BIOS settings:

    See the following steps:

Important: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    (a) start on typing Dungeon either F1, F2, F10, Esc, or DEL to enter the BIOS Setup.

Warning: some manufacturers use F10 for recovery of the system.

    (b) glance to "Drive Configuration", "Boot order" or similar

    (c) check the second drive the first boot device CD/DVD and hard drive.

    (d) to save the settings and exit.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Trying to boot into safe mode and see if that helps.

Start your computer in safe mode:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If step 1 work, try step 2

Step 2:  A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: when you're done to diagnose, follow step 7 in the article to start on normal startup.

  • I screwed up trying to install windows on my computer 10 and I XE off installer and now its says "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key".

I was just trying to download 10 on my computer windows using boot camp assistant. I answered the questions for windows when you need to respond as what kind of language you use and then I messed up on one of the questions. I didn't know how to go back so I just pressed the red x. When I did that he must get off my computer and when it's done I got a black screen and then it says "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key" I don't know what he meant by no bootable disk and I was hoping that you guys can help me fix.

If stop you your Mac and your power it back up and hold down the Alt/Option key, you see a Windows selection? If so try to select and see if the installation will continue.

  • Is "PXE - MOF: PXE ROM. exit" then below I don't get, "No Bootable Device - Insert Boot Disk and press any key any" why?

I bought the lifetime windows, defender security system, I also downloaded the windows repair and ran it, I even cleaned my c drive and defragmented, but I always get the same black screen. This is what it looks like.

PXE - MOF: Exit PXE ROM.

No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key

/} In this area here, I slash turns clockwise

Does anyone know how planned it and most importantly, how to prevent?

Try to change your startup settings for...

    1 CD-ROM
    2 USB
    3. HARD DRIVE
    4. (if available) floppy drive
    5 LAN.

  • Satellite 2140CDS: message: "insert the disk and press a key".

    Hello

I got this laptop but the necessary update. I tried to put a master drive from my other laptop to update and it came with 'error' and now when I turned it back on it does nothing about it, totally blank and rpet "insert the disk and press a key".

I've got everything I can think but still can not do anything.

    Please can someone help?

    Hello

What do you mean with master drive? Do you mean the Toshiba Recovery CD or what?

It seems that the laptop can not find a source of seed and so this message appears on the screen!

If you use a FDD drive please check if the disk has been removed.

You must simply insert your Toshiba Recovery CD and boot from the CD/DVD drive. That's all.

PS: Check if the HARD drive isn't too bad, as if the internal HARD drive is malfunctioning you will not be able to reinstall the OS from the CD

    Hello

For me the description sounds like the laptop can not find an OS on the HARD disk bootable.
The laptop trying to boot from the HARD drive and Windows has not been installed on the HARD disk or portable computer booting from the drive, but the environment is not bootable.

Have you tried to boot from the recovery delivered CD or have you tried to reinstall the operating system?
