Restoration of the subjects already published to the Publisher

Hi all

Back, and I have another question regarding the subjects and management between the project manager and the table of contents of the file...

As you may or not remember, I was brought aboard an organization to help streamline and develop consistency in the help files for a number of products they manufacture.  The products, well that very similar in appearance and function, have the user interface elements unique and certain functions are specific to a particular product.  Thus, to facilitate the explanation, assume that the product is available under Windows, OS x, iOS and Android.  I have now accordingly organized project files:

Windows product (folder)

Topic 1

Heading 2

Heading 3

OSX product (folder)

Topic 1

Heading 2

Heading 3

etc...

My problem started with a presumed understanding that:

1. the project manager Pod will show me all the files associated with my project, whether or not they are published...

2. the table of contents are a list of all files that are published in the order that they are presented.

Assuming this is correct, I went ahead and a copy (or so I thought) the topic files I was looking at the table of contents for a product area to another area of product (Windows to OS x for example).  After doing this and the editing screen captures and text to the new OS Help files, I realized that I had not copied, but moved the files.  So now the themes for Windows were crushed with the contents of the Mac.

I have not published yet internally for the team of the magazine or on the website of the company, if prior theme for Windows files are always available somewhere.

My question is: what is the best way to restore Windows versions theme files while also maintaining the Mac edition of HR 2015 versions?

There were only a dozen pages, so it was easier to edit topics manually one by one.

The best information I've learned from this experience is that what content was updated, never go by TOC file references because they do not meet their parent folders - always make changes/updates of the project files pod!

Small suggestion to developers of Adobe which extinguished Robohelp:

1. learn the concept of intuitive design and apply!

2. never release a new product without the files/documents in support!

It is absolutely amazing to me that together Robohelp 2015, they were unable to produce any content for... I don't know, maybe a resource of help file explaining what each component and best practices for the use...

After all, is not first of all as one of the basic features of Robohelp?

For William, thanks for the link to "Oct 2004 - ban witchcraft."  With all respect, referring to a person using HR 2015 in an article that is more than ten years that speaks to an iteration of HR which is more than five iterations obsolete legacy, and a 3rd party paid solution seems to be not much of a reference to everything... the problem, it is the lack of native support for doing something as simple as duplication of a project.  I don't have to go in my operating system for it - the PRODUCT must have this feature.  Is that small audience where Adobe decided to Polish a piece about and call it 'new' and the target demographic just accept this?

If RH was a really useful solution for Tech writers, it should be addressed long time... but then again, I should have known better than to expect that Adobe.

LR 5.7 cannot find my files already edited because I accidentally deleted them. I have original and exported raw files edited JPEG images on an external hard drive. How to get back on LR the possibility to repeat already published photos complete with a history of editing? Thank you.

Thank you Joe Maniac.  I deleted the original linked files on my internal hard drive which were dng files, but had copies of the raw files edited and edited the exported raw files (in JPEG format).  I don't have copies of dng files.  So what I ended up having to do was import the original raw files which then made a DNG copy on my internal hard drive.  The link has not changed, but now the files were back in the original track for missing photo alerts disappeared and I was able to see my change history.  The process has been painful, but without the dng, I had nothing to do a link to more if at least re-import them files has recreated the dng.  I don't know if there was an easier way, but it seemed that the problem did not the link deletion.  I use LR for a few years, but it was a rookie mistake, precipitated by my hard drive being so jammed up I ended up delete what I shouldn't.  I should have just moved the dng and the link to an external hard drive. Thanks again.

  • Add support for the iPhone in an application already published

    Hello

Is it possible to add support for the iPhone to a multi-folio application which we have already published in iPad format.

If so, what are the steps before you download a .ipa file revised to Apple for review?

There are a few paragraphs on the update of the application in general on p58 here but nothing specific to add support for additional platforms to an existing application.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Ross

You must do two things to make your application work on the iPad and the iPhone:

    1. create fact sheets for the iPhone.

    http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS4cb2576c7954973c-70d16164136e6c7cfbc-8 000. HTML

    2. create and submit a new version of the viewer using DPS App Builder. Select iPhone and iPad. Use the same files mobileprovision and CERT.

You also need to create some application icons and splash for iPhone screens.

  • Defective single file restore: "datafile... already restored to the file.

    Hi all

I ' am doing some tests with RMAN restore and restore a single file in a new directory.

First execution of the restore script (run {restore datafile 14-'... » ;}) has been a success, but in the case where I deleted the restored file and restart the script, RMAN complains with:

"datafile 14 is already restored to the file...". ».

This means that RMAN keeps track of and refers to the previous actions of restoration?

I find this rather strange RMAN behavior because I want RMAN just to use to deal with some files (should not make assumptions that the DBA can do or what he or anyone else has done it before...).

Y at - it an option to 'force' RMAN to restore files, regardless of what happened before?

    Thank you,

There is an option of FORCE with RESTORATION.

  • Message Windows to restore in the minimized state bar panel.

Are there messages that appear when a window is restored from the State, other than the 'Got Focus' message (for the recall of the main table)? I need to know when a group of experts has been restored to the State of minized (the user has clicked the button on the taskbar) and is used again. Other than the flag that set if a child window has a separate task bar button, it seems no signals or functions in that regard at all.

It is currently not possible. However, this proposal has already been posted hereand you can add your own voice, in order to increase the probability that it gets implemented.

  • cannot restore from the previous date says computer is unprotected I just get rid of the virus of audit system

rid of virus check system but cannot restore the computer to the previous date

You never said how you got rid of the "System Check" malware. As far as we know, he is still there. Follow these instructions (if you have not already done so):

Also, as Jose pointed out, there are programs that are designed to interfere with the system restore (Norton is one of the most common). But there are really two questions. First of all, we will treat your malware problem. We can always revisit SR at a later date.
Finally, even once as Jose pointed out, you NEVER run the system restore after the removal of the malware! Which could only bring him back! That you have to turn it off and then put it again, which will REMOVE all previous restore points. You really all gone!
  • Cannot restore to the factory settings

I have the Acer Aspire 7741z laptop. The computer has frequent problems, and I want to restore it defaults. I've already saved important files and had planned to do a full restore to the factory settings, but the eRecovery program does not work for me. It starts the process, says that it needs to restart, check I want to replace the data on the hard drive and restarts. The problem is, it just restarts. No recovery process, no reset factory default. Alt + F10 during boot process does nothing.

I checked the partitions still exist, and I made no changes to the system since the purchase (about formats, etc.). Of course, I'm no longer under warranty period, it seems getting direct support from Acer is not going to happen.

If anyone can help? I really want to restore this laptop to its default settings.

Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems like frustrating and a lot of time as possible by asking only not for any information system when a new question is asked.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.
For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:
Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:
According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.
Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.
System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.
That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).
Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.
Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.
No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
It can be uninstalled later if you wish.
The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues.
  • HP Pavilillion DV6700 is: restoration of the BIOS

I need to restore my laptop bios. How can I get or create a copy of the bios that will boot and load it on my computer? The computer don't would not boot from its system after my restore attempt failed. Now the computer will boot from my external usb 3.5 floopy drive. The 3.5 system provides only a simple back system that seems to only access the a: drive. The computer does not start dvd discs of recovery, I did and I've used successfully before for recovery. I have no day bios in the past. I had kept the computer updated before its failure. Help, please. Thanks, Katrin

Thank you very much. I got the BIOS to Flash this weekend with your help. The link you sent that refers to the file maintenance SP opened the system to accept and execute the flashing Phoenix program. I am able to access and launch the restore disks. I keep all my documents on a separate partition and save it once a week on an external drive. If nothing is lost in the accident.

I kept getting immediately "BIOS don't update not for your laptop" when I want to boot from USB and run the executables from extracted files MS. I tried all the eleven listed HP download extractable files and received the same message. Then I booted from the USB drive and set the maintenance file, which linked you to, on the hard drive. It linked the command prompt (which is what I use,) without any text field or display image for about 5 seconds and then returned to the guest. I then tried the F.33 (last updated) as before running the executable version. But this time, after that I had to run your application of maintenance related, the Phoenix ran with a display of instructions frame. I followed the instructions and the program displays a frame that identified the existing version BIOS, F.25, with date and time and the version I try to Flash. I checked and a new framework said the version was not for my laptop, but I had been not as managers see. I then extracted and ran the F.25 version A, the Phoenix program ran and identified as before, but I got the same pitch for my message of the laptop. So I ran the F.25 executable version B, the Phoenix program ran, and after that I checked, the program flashed the BIOS! It sounded good with the computer coming and all fans.

I hope that HP will publish viable BIOS recovery processes. I had to go through many trial and error, and the problem of BIOS now seems to be common with applications for system restore. In this case, my computer shutdown in the middle of a restore because I forgot to plug and the battery died before the restoration is complete. My brother recently tried a restore after the execution of a Service Pack 2 update on our old computer XP, and who took out the BIOS. But we found an old 3.5 floppy in his drawer, under her Pajamas or something, someone had created years ago. It is bootable and had a BIOS update executable that took place without any problem to restore the BIOS.

Thank you very much for your time and your help. I'll participate in this community to help others. Take care, Katrin

  • Windows complete PC Backup Image - impossible to restore the backup on my laptop after the restoration of the C drive.

My user profile is not loaded correctly, and so Sony told me to do a restore of the C drive which took my drive C back to factory settings and lost all my programs and files.  I tried since then to restore the Windows Image backup I did on my external hard drive.

I open backup and Restore Center, click Advanced Restore, click Advanced Restore again.  The box application to what you want to restore?  The only option is to files from a backup made on a different computer.  I click Next, and he said: select the location of the backup to restore.  Hard drive, cd or dvd option has already found new Volume (e), which is my external hard drive.

I click Next again, and he says, select dates to restore from.  The only option in the box is dated 2008-01-12 14:14:34 backup location is not available.  My external hard drive has multiple backups on it, including the Windows Backup Image (which was the first backup, I did and it contains 152 GB), and so I do not understand this.

I continue, and then click Next.  It now says select files and folders to be restored, but there is nothing in the box.  I have check the restore everything in this backup box and click Next.  I save the files restored to the following location - check and navigate to the C drive.  I also check both boxes: restore files to their original subfolders and create a subfolder for the drive letter.  I click on begin to restore, and then he said:

Restoration was unsuccessful.  Error: the parameter is incorrect. (0 x 80070057)

I'm desperate to be able to get my programs and files back on my laptop.  I don't understand why the restore function can not see my Windows Backup Image, and why this is so difficult.  I've read other complaints by users about this, but cannot find a solution.

I look forward to hear from you.

    Thank you.

    Hi HGHFaith,

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1 : Clean boot the computer and then try to restore

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.

    If the problem persists,

Step 2: Run Check disk to repair bad sectors on the hard drive.

    a. Click Start, in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    b. type E: (external drive) and press enter

    c. at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.

    Now, type chkdsk/r

Note: CHKDSK would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

Check whether the problem is resolved

I supported the catalogue of PES 10 on my iMac after verifying that no files have been disconnected.  Restored to the MacBook pro choice once the same location and another time another location, but retain the file structure.  The files seem to have transferred without a problem, but they are disconnected.  With the help of properties, I find that the file location is where it is supposed to be.  If I plug a single file, it seems to be exactly where it should be. i.e. paths on both sides of the screen to reconnect are identical when the reconnection is completed.  Includes 20K more catalog files, and the spinning wheel of death that appears when I select "reconnect all files" is formidable.  What should I do to keep the files to be taken apart in trying to achieve this transfer?  Thank you very much in advance for anyone to help.

The adjacent disconnected files to another in the original structure of the file are subject to the same agonizing search by the program function.
