Restore computer settings without a disk.

I have an acer aspire 7110 laptop. I would like to restore to factory setting, in that I mean wipe and start over. The problem is it was preinstalled with all the software and I do not have a disk. Is there a way to reset it and start from scratch?

    Hello!

First of all, you should check the user manual. There you can find all the details on how to recover a Toshiba laptop.

In any case, if your laptop came without recovery disk you can create one using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. That's why you need one or two DVDs and then you have factory on a DVD.
If you created the recovery disk, you can boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows will be reinstalled, and you get back to factory settings.

But you can also recovery a Toshiba laptop without recovery disk. So go to the F8 advanced boot menu and choose fix my computer. Now, you can choose the Toshiba Recovery option and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you have any other questions, you can search a bit in the forum. You will find a sufficient number of threads on the recovery procedure.

How to restore your computer settings certainly depend on what brand of computer you use. You must contact the manufacturer or your computer's manual should give you guidance on how to use your disks restore provided with your computer or the hidden partition.

Please note that means restoring the computer to the factory settings, restore the computer to the State that you have first obtained it in. You would lose your programs that you have installed, your data, etc etc. It would be like a new installation.

  • How can restore factory settings Satellite Pro L300-100

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-100.
It kept freezing then nothing seamed to work on it. My operating system is windows Vista professional. So I decided that I had to do a full restore from CD.

So I put the recovery CD in the drive which has been in the Toshiba without looking, I installed it but it installed Windows XP Professional.
So obviously the wrong disc was put in the box when manufactured.

So I now have Windows XP Professional on my computer none on my drives work.
My cd does not work like obv that settings are not on the disk.

Is there anyway way to restore my computer without the disk that I don't have to buy one when the wrong disc was in the first place. Of course, I know that I should have checked the disk, but it is like an accident full and the disc was not correct even in the first place

    Hey Buddy

First of all a few words in that regard:
    > So I put the recovery CD in the drive which has been in the Toshiba without looking, I installed it but it installed Windows XP Professional. So obviously the wrong disc was put in the box when manufactured.

It was not a mistake or a fault that the Win XP disc with the laptop.
Your laptop computer was preinstalled with Vista BUSINES version and Toshiba portable computers that are preinstalled with Vista BUSINESS get besides a Win XP OS as an option to downgrade!

In addition you didn t receive the Vista BUSINESS recovery disk because the Toshiba laptops with the option of recovery and HARD drive recovery, Toshiba disc creator software that allows you to create an OWN Vista recovery disk.
BUT it can be done if you have not formatted the HARD drive...

You can find lots of information about this recovery disk you manual there are some info and also a reminder has been preinstalled on your system that says; It s is strongly recommended to create a recovery disk.

Well buddy. To cut this story you have just only one solution:
You must buy the drive for recovery from here:

  • Pirrit - how Custom to restore your data without infecting a MacBookPro erased?

May 31, 2016, I started to get pop-up windows.  The next day because the problem has gotten worse, I bought Bitdefender and downloaded MalwareBytes, which found and removed adwares/malwares.  However, as CJ706 says, Bitdefender has continued to find malware Pirrit despite detecting and defusing it and restarts.  I continue to receive advertisements and discrete words in the articles I'm reading are link highlighted in green sand for ads sites.  My MacBookPro works much more slowly and regularly freeze Web pages.   Re-launch of Safari with the SHIFT key down has stopped at least advertising pages new opening.

I am now back up my data on newly bought external hard drive so no risk of corrupting my backup disks standard and will perform an erase and reinstall.   Someone can tell me how to migrate my data and applications and applications on Time Machine without an automatic reinstall that would bring the malware through?

Also, I have been informed (of those who do not know Macs) to install Bitdefender and MalwareBytes before you migrate all the data.  How can I get these in front of my time Machine before migrating to other data?

Finally, I think I downloaded Pirrit when you try to play a video in a report by the BBC or the Daily Mail.   I had repeated pop-up windows saying that my version of Flash is not up-to-date, and I had to repeatedly download Flash of what I thought, it was Adobe's Web site.  The video has not yet played after that I had downloaded Flash.  What I read Pirrit is via a fake pop-up Flash Ad.  Is it possible I could have downloaded Pirrit malignant ads pop up on these sites that I thought I could trust?

    Thank you

    Hello

I just installed upgrading Windows 7 on my computer. Now I want to restore the system to factory (with Windows 7) but I can not find HARD drive recovery option when I try to start with F8. I have all the other options, but no HDD recovery.

What do I need to activate from windows?
Will there be another opportunity to recover the computer without recovery disks?

    Thanks for the help,

    Stone

    Hello

    > but I can not find HARD drive recovery option when I try to start with F8
It's the reason for which you have installed the upgrade to Windows 7 and so this available isn't HARD drive recovery t more. You can use it on a preinstalled OS to Toshiba.

    > Is there another possibility to recover the computer without recovery disks?
Yes, simply use a disc of Microsoft to install another OS. After that you can download all the drivers and Toshiba tools directly.

Alternative, you can order a new disc of recovery here:

My sister has a Toshiba Satellite L300D 242, and she is very unhappy with her because she seems to have more than enough problems.

I'm a bit irritating to play with things for the first time, however, and that's because I've never reformatted a before Toshiba and I worry in case there might be an unexpected stumbling block that I'd better know.

I have restored my Acer several times and it's been no problem, no problem at all. Is a Toshiba Satellite L300D 242 restoration as simple?

Is there a way to reformat my hard drive, without the disks recovery or restore points?

  • Satellite L40 - how to restore factory settings?

I really hope that someone can help me before I break my laptop.

I have a portable Satellite L40, who started showing an error logonui.exe on the login page, at the same time, the error avrt.dll started and my sound stopped working.
I tried to put a new avrt.dll file, which it won't let me.
So I decided to do a clean install of the operating system (vista).

I don't have a recovery disk to do it well, so I tried to do a factory reset, by pressing F11, 0 and C, I was able to access the page where you enter your product key, which said while the sources\install.wim was not present and could not continue.
Then I tried F8 Repair computer, that when he goes to the page with 6 options, does give me the option of HARD drive recovery, it is said to restore complete windows, but don't give out information when I press on it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to solve this problem, as I'm getting rather annoyed now. Thank you

    Hey Buddy

As I m wrong not Sat L40 has not was equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
So, you won't be able to recover without recovery disks or Microsoft Windows disk.

Put the recovery disk (if you don t have this recovery disk using your own drive of Microsoft Windows) and boot from the CD or DVD.
The required drivers are available on the Toshiba page and you could download it after the installation of the OS Win.

Notes; you need the serial key of Microsoft to activate windows. You cannot use the Toshiba serial key which is placed at the bottom of the unit. It belongs to the preinstalled OEM version and will not work with your private version

  • Restore factory settings

I want to restore my laptop to original settings. My laptop does not start the operating system. It restarts only to the point where I see the 'Vaio' logo

I can press F10 to use Recovery Wizard. But I don't have the recovery CD.

I wanted to know, can I still use F10 to restore my laptop to factory without these CD manufacturing settings. I really don't care about data on my laptop, if it erases everything that I want to just restore factory settings

Thank you for your message. VAIO computers come with recovery software, present in a hidden partition and you can perform system recovery using the 'F10' key

Restart the computer, keep tapping F10 key, press button to start editing option, Recovery Wizard select start and click on ignore VAIO Care rescue (if you do not want to back up data) to start the system recovery process.

  • How to recover the Satellite A100 without recovery disk

    Hi all

I'm trying to restore my laptop A100 settings * without * a restore CD via pressing a sequence of buttons during startup (which must launch the recovery on the hard drive partition).

It is really unfortunate, I know it can be done as I did before butI for the life of me forgotten what was this key sequence I can't find the article I stumbled initially on!

I've scoured the web looking for this key sequence and all the proposed solutions, I fell on do not seem to work.

    Unsuccessful attempts so far:
    -Press and hold 0 power
    -various suggest 'F' keys: F1, F8, F10
    -now the delete key

Note: I guess it may be worth mentioning that pressing F8 actually take me on-screen "start options advanced windows" but I don't have any recovery options.

Yeh Yes, I'd * extremely * grateful if someone could point me in the right direction here because it makes me crazy... the fact that I've done this before, it that much worse!

As I know the A100 series has not been fitted with the recovery of HARD drive partition!
And so I doubt that any combination of keys will start the partition recovery!

So you only chance to recover the laptop is to take the recovery disk, then boot from it.
You can also try to install the disk Microsoft Windows operating system and then could install the drivers of Toshiba on the pilot site of Toshiba!

You have a hard drive partition to do - but you would need to contact/see the FAQ from the hardware manufacturer (HP, Dell, Gateway, Lenovo, etc) to see if and how.

Otherwise - you might have to order (pay for possibly) the factory restore/recovery of the value of the manufacturer.

  • Lack of Firewall Service. How to fix without OEM disks?

Have an old HP Pavilion a161 on office w / Win XP Home edition. I got hit by a virus a month ago & had to pay to have the virus deleted.  I've since upgraded to best antivirus / firewall & deleted MS Security Essentials, which turned out not to be so effective.  I've noticed a few problems to make the Firewall works & determined the Firewall Service file is missing (& who knows what other files?).

It was a OEM pre-installed (without disks) & as it is a system older w / low RAM & aging BONES, I'd rather not invest much more of $ in there.  A new PC (perhaps another HP, as it proved to be a very reliable computer) is definitely in the plans, but a purchase will have to wait a few months.  At the time of the original purchase, I paid Best Buy to make restore disks, but that would mean a destructive complete reinstall.  I did several searches on the web & looked on this Forum without a bit of luck; I even considered upgrade to XP Pro, but it's still more money for an aging system & old BONES...

So without OEM disk (s), how to manage a repair to restore the missing files? I'll check to ask 'the Expert Day'.  Thanks for any help!
