Restore Playlists

Once I had my iPhone 7 operational, I thought I'd take advantage of iCloud music library, but there has been destroying my playlists on my computer and my iPhone. Does anyone know how to restore playlists?

Thank you!

Disable the library music iCloud. Restore a copy of the last database before you activated. See the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library. If you want to discover music of Apple or iTunes game iCloud music library functionality, it might be better to do it in a separate library.

Also best not putting too much personal information online.

  • Move to NAS - HELP

I have a library with hundreds of playlists and 13 000 songs. Currently, the itunes library folder is in a custom location. The root folder with all the mp3 files is also in a different folder on another drive. I don't want to consolidate my library and that itunes screw up my folder structure. I would like to move my itunes on my nas drive folder in "NAS/file A" and the root folder of mp3 for "NAS/file B".

How do I step by step without breaking the links to each mp3? I've already started copying the files on the NAS server and maintaining installation current, just in case.

What I say to me I can:

    (1) export a copy of all the selections to choose file > library > export library at MyMasterLibrary.xml now

    (2) close itunes

    (3) to rename the current itunes and mp3 of root folders to prevent itunes to 'see' the current files

    (3) launch itunes and create a new library

    (4) location change itunes media folder custom Edit > Preferences > advanced > itunes media folder location and change to "NAS/file B".

    (5) import the MyMasterLibrary.xml under file > library > import Playlist

This should rescan the mp3 files and restore playlists from what I understand.

    Any advice?

See make a library of portable split. In principle, you should be able to copy files from your library in the folder parent of this operation all the mp3s, then move the library to a new location, keeping any unchanged internal folder structure. My recommendation would be that you change folders to iTunes containing iTunes Media using the method described as this makes linking the library or a clone of it to any other computer easier.

Step 5. does not work unless you change the paths in the XML file. Reconstruction of the library from a modified version of the XML file will lose all original date added information. A new library will also be seen as news that the iPod is concerned may cause a useless resynchronization of all media. If you don't like my first suggestion, then it may be preferable to use a script (see here) to move the media a new path and to repair broken links at the same time. If all that is required is a search and replace operation in the existing location, it should be easy enough for me to tweak ConsolidateByMoving to that effect.

  • How do you get a restored iPhone library playlists?

I had to do a restore on my iPhone 6 s. It downloaded all my photos, but I don't know how to recover all my music. I had 2 put playlists in place, but there is no music in one of the playlists on my phone. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you

I assume that when you say that the pictures uploaded, you mean a backup iCloud or iCloud photo library. If the music did not download, go to the iTunes Store app, tap on purchased. Then press the music, not on this iPhone and all your purchased music should have the cloud next to songs icon. Tap the cloud in order to download the songs again.

You must be signed in the Apple ID you used to buy songs in order to make this work.

  • Restore 'Purchased' playlist on iTunes

I accidentally deleted the original file to 'Buy' on iTunes on my mac... I've looked everywhere and it doesn't seem to be a solution on the web for this publication. I was wondering if any of you have any ideas on how I can restore this playlist. Thanks in advance for your help.

You cannot re-create the purchased playlist but you can try to create a smart playlist based on "purchased = true".

  • Restoration of music iTunes & playlists from Time Machine

For some unexplained reason, iTunes decided to forget all my music and lists reading, although nothing had been knowingly changed. As much as iTunes is concerned, I don't have music and playlists.

I see all the music is still on my hard drive, so import again would be probably to load my music into iTunes, but I have a number of large playlists that I also want to preserve. I thought that it is better to ask advice before rushing in and possibly make things worse.

My hard drive is backed up with Time Machine daily. What is the best way to return to how it was using TM? What files should be restored?

Try to hold down the option/ALT key at startup of iTunes and select the iTunes Library.itl file in the iTunes folder. If it's not search with spotlight.

    If necessary:

    Help

    Hi Tom,

    Welcome to Apple Support communities.

From what I understand, you want to know how to restore the smart selection added recently or re - create this playlist smart in iTunes on your Mac.

If you haven't already done so, you can try to undo the previous command by pressing Command + Z as described here:

If this does not resolve the issue, you can follow the user tip turingtest2 instructions to re-create the smart playlists that came with iTunes.

  • How can I restore deleted to my sony walkman playbill? He won't let me not synchronize deleted playlists

I created several playlists in Windows Media Player & in charge to my Sony Walkman NWZ-E365. «I deleted the playlists on my Walkman, I tried to manually synchronize these playlists back to my Sony, but it not sync them again & I don't get the "i" information on the sync button previously files ignored.» How can I put these playlists on my Sony from Windows Media Player? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello Julie,

The Sync option does not appear that you have removed from the playlist in the menu of the Walkman player.

It is recommended to delete the playlist of the player.

Follow the link below for the format of the built-in memory of the flash player and then transfer the list of reading.

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/docs/portable/NWZE363_E364_E365_guide/Eng/contents/07/01/10/10.html

NOTE: Make sure that you kept backing up the files before formatting the drive.

Follow the link below to create the playlist with Windows Media Player and insert it in the Walkman player.

Your iPod can have data corruption, that is why it is in recovery mode. Do a restore erases the iPod and assigns the "factory" condition by default. Your iTunes library is not affected.

    Hi marcityme,

I understand that your iPhone is automatically download music on your device at the price of a large majority of the storage capacity of your iPhone. In such a situation, you can disable automatic downloads in settings > music.

If you want to enable automatic downloads for all the music that you add to your library in the future, go to settings > music, then highlight the downloads section and type automatic downloads.

Add music from the catalog of Apple's music to your library

  • 12.4.3.1 for Mac iTunes, playlists, etc.

I have iTunes for Mac 12.4.3.1. I miss the sidebar and find navigation arse-about-face. All the advice that I've seen to restore a semblance of the side-bar is to click 'playlists', but this isn't an option that I seem to have... the only visible options are: 'my music', 'for you', 'News', 'radio', 'connect' and "iTunes store" - I have no interest in "for you", 'new', 'radio' or 'connect', but I would like to at least see my playlists... suggestions?
