Restore SQL DB with AppAssure

Has anyone tried to restore a database using AppAssure replacing everything simply?  I find a lot of documentation on a separate copy and then using SQL to copy on the tables or lines from the backup, but I just want to restore a copy of the database from a recovery point in AppAssure. My experience with SQL is limited, so I'll try to do it is as easy as possible.   The database is a small database of MS Dynamics SL and is only about 2G in size. It is not used after that hours so it seems that I could simply detach and move the DB direct current and attach the copy of the .mdf file backup and recovery point .ldf AppAssure.   Will this work?  Am I missing something?

Thanks for any input.

Yes, you want both the database and the log. Attach the database while creating the new journal of a.a. is a solution of "last resort", as the journal may contain uncommitted transactions.

    I got a new phone, but before that I erased all my data on it, I backed up in iCloud. So when I went to restore my phone with the iCloud backup, everything went back on my phone expect my photos. So how can I get my pictures on my phone from the backup?

    Hey there Meg.

    Welcome to Apple Support communities.

    If I understand correctly, photos are missing in your iPhone after restoring a backup to iCloud. The article below provides a lot of information and troubleshooting tips that should help you to solve the problem of missing photos.

    Help find missing information in iCloud after restoring to an iOS - Apple Support device

    Your photos

    In iOS 8.1 or later with iCloud than on photo library, your photos and videos are stored in iCloud. They are not included in your backup to iCloud. After you restore your device, connect to the Wi - Fi and turn on iCloud photo library by going to settings > iCloud > Photos. Your photos and videos starts to download.

    If you use iOS 8.1 or later and have not turned on iCloud photo library, or if you use the iOS 7, iCloud backup includes photos and videos in your film or photo library. They will download on your iOS device when restoring.

    • Photos in my photo stream is already stored in iCloud, so that they are not part of your backup. iCloud stores the photos that you have uploaded to my stream of photos for 30 days. To keep these pictures on your device and to be part of your backups, save these photos in your library, film or another album.
    • To view an album My Photo Stream, make sure that my photo stream is enabled in the settings (if use you iCloud photo library, the photo stream my folder is removed).
    • To retrieve the photos synchronized to the origin of your device from your computer, synchronize your device via iTunes on a computer.
    • To restore an iPhone or an iPod touch photo library (or film), iCloud backup must be from an iPhone or iPod touch. To restore photos photo library (or film) to an iPad, iCloud backup must be from an iPad.

    Take care.

    Hello:

    I can't help you with this specific issue, but if you can get it is resolved and you can read the product key 25 character Microsoft Windows on the bottom of your PC, do your own installation of W7 media to reinstall W7.

    Here's how:

    If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

    Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

    Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

    Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

    The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

    Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

    Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • 'Restore gadgets installed with windows' this selection is gray and cannot be selected. What now?

    original title: Desktop sidebar gadgets

    When you download a new gadget which folder does download while it appears in the selection of additional gadget.  I can't find a record that relates to the sidebar or gadgets on my computer.  Ran a search, and they do not always show upward.  In addition, instructions to restore gadgets installed with the computer: do right click Select sidebar - select Properties - 'Restore gadgets installed with windows' this selection is gray and cannot be selected.  What now?

    Here are the steps to download and install new gadgets. http://freewindowsvistatutorials.com/meetWindowsVista/windowsSidebarAndGadgets/downloadAndInstallSidebarGadgets.htm. There is no particular place to download - usually, I download them to the desktop for installation and then I use C:\Users\personal myself (with a special created Gadgets folder it contains) to store the download for use later, if necessary (assuming that I save it at all). Also, this procedure explains how to remove gadgets using the sidebar, so you don't have to go looking to uninstall files or anything like that.

    As far as the original gadgets go, here's a thread on the same problem with a solution which is marked as an answer (even if the person who has posted never confirmed it worked):http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/thread/1a979f08-a67e-43a6-a87c-3fa02dff9be1.

    If this does not work, perhaps to restore the entire box will solve the problem.  Here's how:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/963010.  It can uninstall everything new gadgets that you added when it resets to zero (and I'm not positive that it will restore the original gadgets if he can fix the button greyed out), but if you accept that, it's worth a try.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • More than 1 SQL query with checkbox and error invalid number report

    Hi all

    I have two SQL query reports that each has an apex_item.checkbox and two processes for each report.  A report/process works very well.  It gives me an error of invalid number.

    In addition, another query SQL (editable report) gives me the following error when using the Multi line process, delete.

    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital or value error: character number conversion
    error ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital or value error: character number conversion

    Ok

    When I got a report from SQL query (with box and a process) and the query SQL (editable report) everything worked.  It stopped working when I added another SQL query report (with box and a process).

    A SQL query has the following in my query: apex_item.checkbox(3,email_id,'UNCHECKED') ""

    The other SQL query has the following: apex_item.checkbox(2,b.file_id,'UNCHECKED') ""

  • PL/SQL: Cursor with list filling can do IF EXISTS on Table

    Here's my problem. The DB I work with is a database of events (network events). I have a task to take a list of nodes of 2600 and see whether these nodes exist in a set of events that would be with a certain WHERE clause. On my first pass, I did WHERE AND NŒUD clause in (list of 2600 nodes). Well you can put only 1,000 items in a list so I've divided into 3 reports and served while a UNION all between them. This used 15% of the resources of the db and ran for hours and the Group dba like me to find a better way. They would prefer that I use PL/SQL.

    I am new to pl/sql (but not programming or SQL). So the first thing I've done is just figure out how to get my list in a Varray, which I then went to a table because I couldn't find examples, after hours and hours of searching the Web,.
    referencing a Varray with SQL syntax.

    START CODE sample 1 *.
    DECLARE
    DECLARE
    TYPE NodeList IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2 (255);
    Node NodeList: = NodeList ('node1', node2', [.. .list of 2597 nodes..], 'node2600')

    BEGIN
    dbms_output. Enable (1000000);
    FOR i IN Nodes.FIRST... Nodes.LAST
    LOOP
    DBMS_OUTPUT. Put_line (' relevant points: ' |) Nodes (i));
    END LOOP;
    END
    END CODE Sample 1 *.

    The pseudo-code I'm envisioning goes something like this:

    IF one of these nodes (nodes of 2600 list),
    There are in the nodes for this WHERE clause (which is taken from the event db table).
    then print the records (of the events in the event db table) that contains the nodes (ie the list nodes).

    I think I found an example with 2 sliders, but I can't find this example once again. And anyway, I can't figure out how to get my list in a cursor. I have many examples of how to complete a cursor on a select statement against a database.

    I tried this but it did not work:
    START the CODE sample 2 *.
    DECLARE
    DECLARE
    TYPE NodeList IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2 (255);
    Node NodeList: = NodeList ('node1', node2', [.. .list of 2597 nodes..], 'node2600')

    CURSOR MOM_OVO_NODES IS
    SELECT the node
    OF NodeList
    ORDER BY node;

    BEGIN
    dbms_output. Enable (1000000);

    FOR nodelist_rec IN MOM_OVO_NODES
    LOOP
    dbms_output.put_line (' relevant nodes: ' | nodelist_rec.) Node);
    END LOOP;

    END
    END CODE sample 2 *.

    Is there a way to get this list in a slider? Or I think about this correctly?

    PL/SQL is probably going to be a slower solution, then SQL. It's almost always.

    Your best bet would be to maintain a table of nodes. You can then use a single SQL query with an IN WHERE clause as:

    WHERE node in (SELECT node FROM node_table)

    Or you can use a join (the method preferred honestly, gives Oracle more optimization options).

    If you don't want to maintain a table of node, you can always create a global temporary Table or the external Table that could be loaded prior to running your report.

    If you have tried these methods, and it is still too low or high intensity of resources, then we should look at the SQL and chorus only. See the PL/SQL FAQ's for more information on setting the SQL statements.
