Restore the corrupted backup?

I have an iPhone 32 GB short story 5s that I fell into a puddle I currently sitting it in the rice. I made a backup of the week last through iCloud (thanks g - d). I have a 5 on the spot as my backup phone when I tried to restore the 5 to iCloud this morning that he was in the 17th minute left then stopped and told that it can not be restored because the backup is corrupt. What can I do at this point? take a chance and turn on my 5 (rice\) save it again to iCloud and iTunes?

Thanks in advance

  • Best way to restore the corrupt catalog

The catalogue was apparently corrupted in PSE 12 when I tried to move some items from C on an external drive, and the program crashed during this process.  The last backup in PSE has been about 3 weeks ago.  I also have a backup car for a few days before failure 'move' files Acronis of C.

I discovered the problem when you try to run a new full backup: he obtained 76% after 18 hours and created a partial backup of 759 GB more.  The previous backup was only 309 GB.   There were not more than 2 GB of the additions since the last backup.  The only other change I know is the failed 'move' files within the PES of C on the external drive where all other photo files.

Should I try to simply copy and paste the version the catalog Acronis and replace the corrupted catalog?  Or do I restore previous backup of PES?

The 'move' failure plant generally not the Organizer. You can check who is a 'movement' of the first Organizer to copy files to the destination drive or a master folder and creates a datasheet to update the database. If the copy process succeeds, then the original photos are deleted and the catalogue updated. If the Organizer not crushed, the result will be a library partly copied, but no change to the catalog. In your case, we can not be sure what happened to the database. As you may have to try a backup, the catalog was usable, but there is a mystery about the 759 GB instead of 309. I guess you already tried 'compensation even when' for the catalog.

I would first check that the files you want to move have not really moved, and that only a part of them was copied on the destination disk.

If this is the case, I delete copies (or move them to another locotion than your target location).

The next step would be to restore the Acronis backup catalog. Remember that the catalog is all the folder containing the database, catalog.pse12db. You can choose to restore to the original location or elsewhere. If outside, double-click the catalog.pse12db file to open the organizer with the Acronis catalog on.

The backup to iCloud for an iPad does not include items that are already in iCloud, your iCloud stream library and my photos are not included in the backup to iCloud.

Tychos said, why not use command DUPLICATE RMAN DATABASE to create the clone of the database?

Anyway, you can easily restore the database on the new host using the steps mentioned in this link:

  • Restore the RMAN backup on another server

    Hello

    ENV: Oracle 10 g 2 64 bit, RHEL 5.8 64 bit on ASM, Database size = ~ 1.3 to

Backup RMAN of PROD will FRA and then backed up to tape. I have limited access to the PROD because it is maintained by 3rd party.

My client is planning to move this database on their own datacenter (from the 3rd party data center). For test purposes, I asked DBA of 3rd party to provide us with an export of drawings required data pump. Export takes about 8 hours, and the import takes the same time to the new location. To copy the files exported to new locations takes another few hours (over the network). The total size of the dump file is around 500 GB. Thus, a whole cycle of Export-Import-copy takes about ~ 20 + Hrs.

I want to try another option to reduce the time required for the updating of the database of PROD and which is "use RMAN backup of PROD ' and restore it on the data center server. RMAN full backup takes ~ 4hrs PROD and the restoration should be at the same time (new server has better and faster HW, storage with a SSD). I found this thread very useful on the Oracle Forms on this topic:

Restore backup RMAN on another server

This thread contains very good example for a restoration of database on the file system.

I have a bit of confusion because my database uses ASM. The default location of the backups in PROD is FRA (on ASM == > db_recovery_file_dest = + FRA ). If I understand correctly, the RMAN backup must be in the same place where he was on the PROD Server - i.e. the diskgroup FRA.

If I get a copy of the part 3 RMAN backup, how would I copy on FRA?

OR can / should I just change the init parameter "db_recovery_file_dest" on the new server to point to the file system directory where the backup (say "/ ora_backup") and RMAN will pick up and restore the database?

    Please advise!

    Best regards

    You can restore the backup files to any location, then you must configure the channel using the "CONFIGURE CHANNEL device type disk format 'new location ';

  • Restore the Rman backup in a database to a different database

I want to restore a machine (RMAN) backup to another machine with a different instance name. I want to keep the target database instance name.

a machine has instance PROD, I take rman backup "PROD" A machine instance and to restore that backup to the machine B which has an instance 'UAT '. I want to restore the backup of "PROD" instance for instance 'UAT', the two are on a different node, please help me how can I achieve it.

Why do you think there could be a conflict?

In addition, the steps that I pointed out are rename restored PROD to UAT the last step.

When you use RMAN to RESTORE and RECOVER a database, the DBID and DB_NAME should be the same as it was when the backup was performed. The Instance_Name (ORACLE_SID) may be different.
The DB_NAME can be changed after the RECOVERY is complete.

The DBNEWID Utility Oracle (program name 'nest' in $ORACLE_HOME/bin) should be used to change the DB_NAME of PROD to UAT on your UAT server, once the RESTORE is complete.

Original title: Mr. Fix It Will correct dll file errors

Recently I replaced the drive HARD internal on a HP Media Edition due to the failure and had backed up all my data, but also a backup of my e-mail account in mozilla TB on an external HARD drive.  After installing a new HARD drive and reinstall all hardware, software and update windows XP SP 3, IE8 et.NET Framework 4, I rebooted everything except the moz backup. TB. Would not load as I couldn't open the DelZip 179 .dll file that was created on the Mozilla site as favorite to save.  I can't open it with Mozilla TB which is my default email client and is listed in my program files.  I have another computer running XP SP 3, IE8 on which I was able to open the same external HARD drive backup file it opened with Mozilla TB on request what to open it with. so, I know that the file is not damaged.  What am I missing I will allow me to open this file.  I quickly get "delzip179 is not a valid win32 application" when you try to open with Mozilla TB in the newly repaired unit.

    Hello

    ·         Have you tried to reinstall the application?

If you move from one operating system to another then you must manually move your profile from one computer to the other.

To do this, follow the steps in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_profile_folder

  • Post controls after you restore the RMAN backup to a new server

    Hi all

Sorry to ask this fundamental question. But I want to confirm that I did all the checks after restoration.

    Total number of patterns
    Number of objects in diagrams
    Invalid objects
    Control over data objects
    Jobs
    Status of datafiles
    Status of log files

Please let me know if something that let him...

    TIA,

An RMAN backup is a physical backup. So, on the restore + restore, it is wise to check the physical objects:
    a. Controlfiles, data files, redo logs (resetlogs would recreate/reset redo logs)
    b. block corruption (see backup/restore logs, controls v$ block_corruption, dbv on each of the data files)

Users, Tables, Segments, storage spaces are all the logical objects that RMAN is not aware of (with the exception of the w.r.t. DataFiles Tablespaces).

  • Restore the TimeMachine backup to different hardware (MBA-> MBP)

    Hello

I've restored my MBA at a new MBP without problem from a backup Time Machine. But I wanted to make sure that the restoration of an MBA at a MBP had no impact on the performance of the MBP? Would it not be better to install it from scratch rather than restoring a backup MBA?

Depends on all sorts of things...

When you say restore did you use the configuration wizard or migrate?

Migration causes no problems of performance... assistant configuration attempts to pass a whole system to another machine... and then, it depends on how close they are to each other.
