Has received a request by e-mail for more information

I received an e-mail asking for information indicating that "our database has encountered a problem and many documents have been lost," the necessary details,

1 the name of the user, 2. Password, 3. Date of birth and 4. Country. Otherwise, this will make you lose your account permanently. My cconcern this is a legitiment source because it is not looking very perfessional?

It is almost certainly a common type of phishing scam. Never reply to such a request.

If its from a company you normally deal then contact them by separate direct means (get their phone number of information in the driectory or e-mail address known good correspondence, you already have). Not be contacted through any phone no, Web page or e-mail that they have received (which may be wrong). In particular, Web links and email in these email links may seek to be authentic, but actually direct you to a fake website/email address.
