Restoring previous operating system

Original title: Windows 7

I downloaded Windows 10 and I don't like.  I am a senior and do all the stuff 'busy' and all the "bling".  Windows 7 has been great for me and I would have, or Windows 8, return.

How do I do that?

If it's been less than 30 days since you upgraded, you can go to start > settings > update and Recovery > recovery and initiate the restore process.  If Windows 10 works normally, you think twice before coming back.  The upgrade process is risky, and the restore process is no less true.   If you did not a system image before moving on to Windows 10, you should definitely do it before trying to go back to 7.

To make a system image: press the Windows key + x, and then select Control Panel.  In Control Panel, select history file and in the lower left corner of the screen that ensued, select backup system image, and then on the next screen, select "Create a system image" on the left side.  Follow the prompts from there.

My laptop is preinstalled with Windows 7 Home Basic.  At the free launch Windows 10 I downloaded the same and after 2 months, the hard drive crashed.  The repair shop trying to fix formatting, but could not revive.  This is why I bought a new hard drive and repair charge shot Windows 7 Ultimate edition.

Now, I want to download 10 W but not able to do that, during installation, a problem arises and the previous operating system has been restored.  When I posted the question about how to solve this problem, I was told to try the download by way of USB/ISO file.

    Now my question is that

one) can I reload Windows 7 Home basic as I have the product key?

    (b) I can then download Windows 10 according to the normal procedure?

I'm not tech savvy, afraid to download files in USB and then load into the laptop, so this question.

You can directly download Windows 10. Windows 7 complete edition currently installed is not genuine.

When you upgraded from a previous version of Windows, what happened is that (your PC) hardware will get a digital right, a unique signature of the computer which is stored on the Microsoft Activation servers. The real Windows 7 or Windows 8 license you were using previously will be exchanged with a key to the diagnosis.

Whenever you need to reinstall Windows 10 on this machine, go just to reinstall Windows 10. It automatically reactivates.

Therefore, there is no need to know or get a product key, if you must reinstall Windows 10, you can use your Windows 7 or Windows 8 product key or use the reset function in Windows 10.

  • Failure of the attempt to upgrade to Windows 10, can´t restore the previous operating system.

Here's the thing: I tried to install the 10 Windows in a laptop Acer TravelMate 5742, he ran incredibly slow, beautiful instalation 3 hours or longer. But just when he was about to finish somethig happens and it tent to restore the operating system (windows 7 Enterprise.. original I think)
It restarts and the windows welcome screen 7, I connect and BAM! a nice screen black and all I see is the mouse.

Then I realized that the model was not really compatible with W10

I tried to restore the system, but there was no restore points, but despite this, I get a message from antivirus who said it needed to update the virus database.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Have you tried to make the instructions provided by mySh4d0w? Are still meet the black screen when you connect?

If you have already tried to run a system restore but restore points are not available, another thing you can do is to start your computer in Safe Mode and check the drivers and startup programs. To do so, please follow the steps listed below:

    1. Turn on your computer and then press and hold F8 key as your computer starts. This will bring you to the Advanced Boot Optionsscreen.
    2. Press the arrow key down until it highlights the Safe Mode or Safe Mode with network and press enter.
    3. If you do not experience the black screen then on the Safe Mode, try to uninstall the graphics driver as it often causes the same scenario.
    4. Restart your computer and check if you are still affected by the same. If still the same, then try to disable startup programs by accessing the Safe Mode once more. In safe mode, press the Windows key + R > type msconfig > click OK. This will launch The System Configuration utility.
    5. Click on Startup tab > turn off or disable your startup programs > click OK > then restart your computer.

Let us know how it goes.

  • Satellite U400-124: is it possible to restore the operating system without the DVD

    I have a U400-124 I want to do a system restore.
I created the Toshiba Recovery DVD but I don't have it with me (I'm in Italy and it is in the United Kingdom).

    I have three left:

    1 Vista (c :))
    2 WinRE (d :))
    3 data (e :))

Is it possible to restore the operating system without the DVD?

Also, what exactly are leaving them? I'm not wrong!
1 Vista (c) - for the operating system
2 WinRE (d) - is a hidden partition and it is necessary for the backup files in Vista
    3. data (E :) - contains the record of recovery

Sorry for my lack of knowledge! Thanks for all your help in advance!

    > Is it possible to restore the operating system without the DVD?
This is possible only if the second partition and HARD disk recovery file has not changed

Start the Toshiba HDD recovery procedure by pressing the F8 key.
A start menu should appear, then you should choose the first option called fix my computer.
Then it should open a new window with an option called Toshiba recovery.
Choose that and usually drive HARD recovery must begin.

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • How to free up space in a drive by deleting files hidden from the previous operating system?

Original title: my vista home c drive now have very low free space.there is some files hidden from the previous operatnig system busy space that are useless.how can I delete these files?

my laptop is slow due to the very low free space in c drive. How can I remove the unnecessary files from c drive or increase the volume of drive c?

Download a program like TreeSize Free (http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/) to see where the files take up a lot of space.  Be aware that deleting files without knowing what you're doing can cause your system to be unable to restart or cause instability can so be sure you know that you are deleting before you start.  There is no way to extend one hard disk other than to replace it, in which case you need to copy all the files from your old drive to the new.

A new installation of windows 7 can be said to delete this partition. do you when you get to the section "where do you want to install windows?" in installing windows 7. There is a player options button that allows you to delete both partitions... then create 1 new partition for windows and it throws a message saying that the operating system can create additional partitions... blah blah... and she... that way the 100 MB partition is clear. If you want to upgrade to Windows XP, then you must perform a full factory restore and install Windows Millennium Edition on your computer. After that you can upgrade to Windows XP.

Note: Perform a factory restore can cause data loss. You can save the data to a CD or external hard drive for data recovery.
