Restriction of SQL Developer 3.2.1 patch connection name

I would like to know if this is a bug or feature SQL Dev complains about "the login name can only contain alphanumeric characters..." ».

All my conn.descriptors defined previously (names) have a lot of 'standard tanks' then (ie. the IP address of the server) they were imported successfully after installing the latest patch, and since then, every time I try to rename one of them or make a new one with the help of my old naming scheme, I get the error.

My approx. is Win7 (x 64), Java (TM) 1.7.0_05, SQL Dev 3.2.10.09.57.

Thank you
Zsolt M.

This is a feature. See connection familiar name/description in 3.2.10.09.57 wire

  • Oracle SQL Developer to the database unifying connection

    Hello community!

    I am developing a SQL string that will pull data from various processes of cost (i plan to wrap the dataview object in a cube and publish a dashboard after that). I was wondering if there is any way to connect oracle SQL Developer for oracle hosted instance unify to create code more efficiently? If so, explain the steps for me please?

    I can get the following information of Oracle BI Publisher, see Exhibit A.

    I have to fill in the fields in Appendix B and this is where I don't know how to do this, see Exhibit B.

    Your help is highly appreciated

    Amir

    Hi Amir - there is currently no way to directly connect to the DB for unifying hosted environments. We are currently working on this issue.

    In the meantime, you can use the SQL Editor in your BI Publisher server interface. You build instructions SQL can then be pasted in via data in unifying views.

  • SQL Developer 3.0 EA1 creates account names case senstive

    Hello

    When you create a new account with SQL Developer 3.0 EA1, the username is enclosed in quotes. This creates an account name of case-sensitive which creates problems when you try to sign. Historically, the account names have been converted to uppercase internally and during the logon sequence this is expected behavior. Not sure why SQL Developer 3.0 EA1 team has chosen to start encapsulating user names when creating quotes?

    Example of a create user statement of 2.0

    -SQL USER
    Why_this_old_way CREATE USER IDENTIFIED BY scott;

    -ROLES
    GRANT "RESOURCE" FOR why_this_old_way;
    GRANT "CONNECT" to why_this_old_way.

    Example of a create user statement of 3.0 EA1.

    -SQL USER
    CREATE USER 'why_this_new_way' IDENTIFIED BY scott;

    -ROLES
    GRANT the "RESOURCE" to "why_this_new_way";
    GRANT 'CONNECT' to 'why_this_new_way ';

    Having the names of case-sensitive objects significantly increases the complexity unnecessarily, please do not implement this approach.

    Scott K.

    There was a change made to address another issue that caused this problem. I supported this behavior will return following EA (when it exists) or the Production version.

    People,

    Hello. I use the Oracle 11 GR 1 material database. The database https://localhost.localdomain:1158 control console / em works correctly. I can create a database and a table with success.

    My OS is Linux and connects to the internet successfully.

    In order to execute SQL statements. We use Oracle SQL Developer. I connect Oracle SQL Developer in the following way:

    Connection name: DB1 (is my database name)
    User name: SYS (this is the user name I used to connect to the Console)
    Password: SYS (this is the password used to connect to the Console)

    user name: sys
    password: enter_your_correct_password given at the time of the installation of oracle

    role: select sysdba if you would connect as sysdba otherwise select normal for users other than the sys

    HostName: Enter your ip or hostname of the oracle example server address:-192.168.11.12

    to find the terminal/command prompt open hostname in oracle installed machine
    type---> hostname

    type ping hostname--->

    You can find the IP address of the server

    Port number: 1521 (default)---> I guess, otherwise check the port number in the file tnsnames.ora under your ORACLE_HOME/network/admin folder

    You cannot connect to the APEX Oracle using Oracle SQL Developer workspace, but you can connect with the schemas associated with the workspace and manage database objects in this schema.

  • Bug of NLS in SQL Developer 4.1 on mac

    Hi all

    I downloaded sqldeveloper 4.1.1.19.59 for mac os x from the Web site. When you try to connect to an Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.6.0 - 64 bit Production database I get an error ORA-12705, the same error as shown in this issue: update SQL Developer 4.0.1 cannot connect (error ORA-12705) . I tried the NLS settings in my sqldeveloper than those of my database, but nothing happened.

    Currently, the problem was solved by using an older version of sqldeveloper. Specifically, 4.0.2 version.

    Signs of what's going on?

    Kind regards.

    Although not specific to OS X, another debate is better: Developer SQL 4.1.1.19.59: error opening Database 9i or package procedure

    So, to summarize...

    1 use a version of SQL Developer (4.0.3 or lower) which comes with a 11.2.0.3 (or less) JDBC. That should help to interact with Oracle 9i.

    2. install a 11.2.0.3 Oracle instant client and configure SQL Developer 4.1.1 to use rather than the 12.1 driver

    See Tools > Preferences > Database > advanced > use Oracle Client... Configure...

  • DB2 zOS supported in SQL Developer?

    I managed to connect to DB2 zOS by adding third-party JDBC drivers from IBM (db2jcc4.jar and db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar) in the SQL Developer preferences. During the connection, I get an error:

    DB2 SQL error: SQLCODE =-204, SQLSTATE = 42704, SQLERRMC = SYSCAT. SCHEMAS, DRIVER = 4.18.60

    The connection actually works, and I can execute SQL statements thereafter, however autocompletion and browse the list of tables is not, which makes it pretty useless.

    So is this a misconfiguration on my part or Developer SQL is supported by DB2 on zOS still?

    If this is the case, is there any plans/roadmap for at least a minimum of DB2 support?

  • Connect the JSK & Sql developer

    Hello

    Someone trying to connect JSK SQL Developer? I tried to do by using the credentials of DB that I could see in server.xml but without success.

    Thank you!

    Usually the HSQLDB JSK uses works in memory mode, not in Server mode - see "Server Modes" at http://hsqldb.org/doc/guide/running-chapt.html. This means that it is not possible to use a tool like SQL Developer, TOAD, squirrel etc to connect in it. You can manually write a script so that it starts the DB in Server mode, you will need to change the jdbc connection string in server.xml in an appropriate manner. Then you should be able to use an external tool to reach the DB using the same jdbc connection string.

    If you just need to make a simple few queries then you can try the query tool that comes with HSQLDB. It is very basic, but has the advantage that you need not change the DB mode, it can connect to a DB in memory of a JSK running. To run it, find the hsqldb.jar in JSK and run:

    Java - cp hsqldb.jar org.hsqldb.util.DatabaseManagerSwing

  • Taking JDBC connection configuration supported the RAC in Oracle SQL Developer?

    How can one Oracle SQL Developer be configured to successfully connect to a [Oracle RAC | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oracle_RAC] environment, that is, not only the installation program always to connect to one of the individual nodes?

    [http://programmersjournal.blogspot.com/2008/08/jdbc-connection-string-for-oracle-rac.html] is an example of a classic and taking version supported the equivalent CARS of a JDBC connection string. I've used a CAR of the same format connection string from within Java applications custom without problem. I thought that the same thing should be configurable in Oracle SQL Developer, by setting the 'Connection Type' drop-down menu on "Advanced", then enter the connection string JDBC RAC-aware as "Custom URL JDBC". However, after the test connection, the following error message is displayed at the bottom of the dialog box:

    Status: Failure-Test failed: IO exception: NL Exception has been generated

    There is no additional information shown on the display 'Page Logging'. With the help of Oracle SQL Developer 1.5.5.

    Thank you!

    You could always give the current 2.1 ai2 test... continuous development may have fixed the issues in this area...

    Hope that helps,

  • Cannot display the results in SQL Developer

    Hello Experts - I installed Oracle SQL Developer, just ran simple query. Nothing appears in the results window. Can you please let me know why?

    Select * of the double

    Done «I installed...» "mean you use 4.1.0? Or is it an older version, perhaps even an Early Adopter version? Have you installed in an empty folder? Were there no migration of user settings step?  Did you run the SQL statement (even if it is technically incorrect, as posted here, I guess the Oracle manages Analyzer) using the declaration of implementation (Ctrl + Enter) or run (F5) Script?

    So, you do not have much to do, but...

    1. try to use the latest version of production, installed in an empty folder.  In fact, the 4.1.1 patch comes out.

    2. try to click on the little black down, arrow down to the left of the box of the spreadsheet to see if that exposes a results pane.

    3. try window > Windows reset factory settings if you think that the layout of fenestration of the product is somehow screwed up.

    4. try view > log to see which makes its appearance in the statements of the Log pane tab when you run the SQL (version 4.1.0 & upward).

  • SQL Developer oak leaf after logout

    Hello

    I use the new SQL Developer for a few weeks now.

    It's very well in most ways. But one thing is really bad.

    After disconnecting a connection saved the SQL Developer automatically opens again a worksheet and reconnects the connection that I have just closed.

    It happens to almost any connection.

    Also, if I have a worksheet to a session previously opened disconnectet, after striking in this worksheet the automactly Developer opens again the connection.

    What is a standard behavior? Could I change any setting to refuse to reconnect automatically?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Greetings from the Germany

    It was a bug - agreed, a bad.

    It has been set for our 4.1.1 patch, people you will see soon available on OTN.

    Such patch will also be too integrated JDK 64 bit for Windows available for download.

  • Find the function object DB with SQL Developer

    Hello to all, SQL developer 4.0.0.13 on Windows 7 64 bit version. I just started to use the function of object find DB. I type the name of the object in the worksheet, select the name of the object and press ALT + g pane, tab, palette, dialogbox binocular opens and shows me all the objects (and schema name) which are referred to as the selected text in the worksheet. When you click on the name of the object, the object opens twice in the object browser. Maybe I understood something wrong. I tried clicking on it once and twice, twice, I see two viewers object showing the same object. Also the pane, tab, palette, dialogbox binocular remains open after that. Is there a way I can hide/close this as soon as I click on the object. Thank you for your help in advance.

    the search panel will remain open until you hide/close it

    I'm not able to reproduce the problem of double-open - what type of object happens to, or she to what whether you click on?

    In addition, you are on an older version, you can upgrade to 4.0.2 because it could have been corrected in a 2 patch releases as your version debuted.

  • El of magnitude is Sql developer

    I have the Version 4.0.1.14 version

    This tool is excelente pero al trabajar con esta, is magnitude too, disabled equally - editor codigo en los 5 last checks, aun asi to para congelando.

    Special circumstances, the most common advice (even for crashes) is...

    1. install latest production release / patch, currently empty 4.0.2 in a directory.

    2. If it is using Windows 64 - bit zip download JDK 7, download and install the updated jdk1.7.0_xx

    3. If you suspect corruption in the parameters user, timing of the launch of the first time after installation, do NOT migrate user settings.

    If you prefer to stay with 4.01 and your current JDK, try to rename or delete these files, then restart without migration of user settings...

    1 %APPDATA%\SQL Developer\system4.0.1.14.48

    2 %APPDATA%\sqldeveloper

    In fact, adjusted for the specific system folder, this step is the "gold standard" to check the corruption of parameters user isn't the problem.  It also contributes to the maintenance of that developer SQL does not point to some old JDK still installed on the computer.

    If there are special circumstances and the generic tips mentioned above do not help, please always include information about your computing environment and

    Details of the circumstances in which the deadlock occurs. For example, after the very important version of SQL Developer, useful information might include...

    1 operating system and JDK version (32-bit or 64-bit).

    2 physical RAM, the JVM memory settings

    3. oracle database version and if the database is on the same PC, or accessible via a LAN or WAN (high latency)

    4. details of the JDBC driver.  You use the default value or override in preferences with a version of Oracle client?  Type of OIC/thick or thin driver?

    5. double system?

    6 Citrix environment?

    7. third-party extensions installed?

    8. what exactly you were doing when the freeze occurred? Was there a large file or files involved?

    9. number of open connections, the spreadsheets, editors when the freeze occurred?

    Hope this helps,
