Unable to connect SQL Developer on APEX host Local workspace

Hello world

I'm very comfortable using SQL Developer. I installed Oracle XE 11 g. It included Application Express 4.0 and I downloaded 4.2.3 and manually updated. I have a workspace on the subject called TEST. I was wondering how I could connect to it and discover its tables using SQL Developer. I managed to get SQL Navigator to work with her.

Any help will be appreciated.

You cannot connect to the APEX Oracle using Oracle SQL Developer workspace, but you can connect with the schemas associated with the workspace and manage database objects in this schema.

You have configured your APEX to support the RESTful Service?

Maybe there is something wrong with you RESTful, could you just start a new configuration of the listener from the apex to the step which asks you to enter the password for user(APEX_LISTENER,APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER) RESTful database, select 3 to skip this step.

  • How to add data to the table changed in sql developer at Apex and vice versa

    Hello

I had tables of database with sql developer. But now, I have modified the database (new tables added + changed the data in the tables). However, in the Apex, I the old database. Is it possible to get the new Apex database with the data of the table changed so this database in both places (sql and apex developer) is exactly the same... Also the other way around.

    Thank you

The database schema that contains the tables, is it associated with the workspace even you are searching through the APEX product t development?  Why I'm asking is, if they are the same schema, the tables that you MODIFIED should be appear in the sql for APEX workshop part.  Now reports and forms will NOT see the changes (unless you have actually added or updated definitions for column).

Can you explain what exactly you were doing the SQL Developer to the tables in your schema?

    Thank you

  • Can I connect SQL Developer to Essbase?

I know that tools such as the table can connect to Essbase, but how can I connect Oracle SQL Developer to Essbase?

    You have not, I'm afraid.

SQL Developer is a development tool for working with databases oracle that supports connections to a set of data bases third-parties for the purposes of specific to oracle migration.

Third-party databases supported are listed in help, but from memory they are UDB DB2, MS SQl Server, Sybase, MySQL and Teradata.

Developer SQL is not a tool of multiple databases.

  • How can I connect SQL developer for JavaDB?

I read that supports JDBC Oracle SQL Developer connection, I tried to connect to Embedded Java DB of the SOMME using the JDBC string as:

    JDBC:Derby:MyDatabase; create = true

and the error message... anyone have an idea to make this connection? also, where can I configure JDBC library?

    Thank you very much!

You are on the right track - the reason why your connection to the database Derby does not work, it's that you didn't say Developer SQL where is the JDBC library.

    Go to the Tools menu
    Select Preferences
In the browser, open the database node.
    Select "Third party JDBC drivers".
Press the button "add an entry".
You will see a file browser where you can locate the jar file containing your JDBC driver.
Select this option and press OK.

Caution - I'm sure that developer SQL has not been tested with all possible JDBC drivers. I know that some drivers on Windows, such as MS SQL Server need an additional step such as adding a DLL file. In other words, if you follow these steps, and it still does not work, search the Forum (which is where I found the answer for SQL Server) and ask again if needed.

  • Unable to run SQL Developer

Whenever I try to start SQL Developer (using a shortcut on my desktop), I get a dialog box asking for the location of the java.exe file. When I select the file in Program Files (x 86) > Java > jre > bin, I get the following popup error message: "could not find a J2SE SDK installed to the path: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Java\jre7.

I receive the error message even if I use the path Program Files > Java > jre > bin to locate the jave.exe file.

NOTE: I also get the following popup error whenever I start up my laptop: "could not start the Virtual Machine Java", but I don't know if this related to SQL Developer.

  • Developer unable to connect SQL database Oracle as a SYSDBA

    Hi all
Recently, I installed SQL Developer3.0 on my machine and try to create the connection to the local Oracle server. But something confuses me. When I login as normal role, it can connect DB successfully; When I connect as sysdba role named sys, it has always failed and show "name of user and password invalid. I don't know that the username and password are right, because I haved connected the oracle DB from pl/SQL with the same user name and password. And I also chose the role as sysdba. SQL Developer3.0 not support connect as sysdba? I would be very grateful if someone could give me a helping hand. Thanks in advance.

    Hi 851634,

Do you need a password for remote sysdba (old link) file?
Cannot connect as sysdba in Oracle Enterprise Management Console

You can try to open a session (loopback) on the network as sysdba, which requires a password file.

  • Connect SQL Developer, SQL * Plus can't

I installed Oracle Database Development VM VM: VM VirtualBox for developers & lt; / title & gt; & lt; meta name = & quot; Title & quot; content = & quot; VM VirtualBox for developers & q...

Added two adapters, one as a host-only, as NAT.

We add a few entries tnsnames.ora for network database servers.

Developer SQL inside the VM can connect to all three databases: XE, remote_db1 and remote_db2.

SELECT * FROM Dual using a remote connection returns the data immediately.

SQL * Plus inside the VM can connect to XE, but not to a remote server. It hangs just for awhile and finally back: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

Outside of the virtual machine (on the host), Developer SQL (database connection Type) and SQL (sqlplus connection string) can connect to all three systems.

    What is going on?

Sounds like the hostname resolution failed.

A host name must be resolved to an IP address. If you use a host name in the TNS connection string, you need to make sure that it can be resolved to an IP address. With the help of the ping command is an easy way to determine if the host name is resolved.

Some listeners (such as remote control and headphones RAC), accepts a connection client and in response redirect the client to a different hostname (and port). For example, a remote listener can serve 10 cases (each with a different service name). The client connects, asking servcice5. The listener redirects the customer to hostname ora-Server5 on port 1521. The customer now tries to connect to ora-Server5, to resolve the hostname to an IP address and then make the call to connect.

If the listener can redirect the customer to a new host name - and the customer must be able to resolve the host name. The error that you get so don't always relates to the connection initial listener. It can also occur when the client driver follows the redirect to the listener and attempt a new connection to a new host.

  • Still unable to connect SSH ESXi 3.5 host

I have confirmed that SSH is enabled on an esxi host 3-3.5, but I'm getting connection refused when attempting to connect using WinSCP or PuTTY. I'm on the same internal network and there is no firewall between the two. My goal is to add one additional Windows server 2003 running as a NFS and move some of the VMDK on this external storage device. Hints would be much appreciated.

  • Names of connection SQL Developer 4.0.0.12 - 12.84

    Hello

so, in the new 4.0, it is possible to use the '@' character. It's fine for me (I used user@db for my connections) - but is there a possibility to Exchange then the "@" with a "-"?
I have ~ 200 connections stored - it's a little annoying to drop / create it when a password has expired (due to the former, we can not recorded)

... and by the way: it would be possible to create subfolders? -would be a little easier to manage connections

(also: the drop connection gets quite unusable over time - the more connections are used plus the list--but I don't have an idea how to defeat that...)

    Best regards

    Werner

PS: it's really a connection by user / database - we just have 30 + databases with many users inside where we code...

From 4.0. EA3, the '@' is back.  The official validation message is:

Connection name can contain only alphanumeric characters, the at sign (@), the underscore (_) and hyphen (-).
