Restructuring of the database ignores the setting of Configuration NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND

The default value for NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND is 2048. I have it set to 1 in order to test how the cube will respond to different operations.

I loaded the data to a block in my cube and the PAGE file size is just a little larger than the size of the 1 block. However, when I restructure the database, the size of the PAGE file grows up to 2048 blocks. So it seems that the NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND is ignored by the dense restructuring explicit.

Can anyone confirm that this is expected behavior and whether or not he planned to be?

I use version 11.1.2.2

I think the idea is in the Tech reference there is a note at the bottom that says:

After NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND to a value greater than the default value, there is an increase in the amount of pré-alloués for page files disk space. »

The key phrase is 'Set NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND to a value greater than the default value'

I'm guessing that 2048 is both the sefault AND minimum size

This article updated fingers MS12-060, specifically KB 2687441, as the culprit.

It turned out that ActiveX controls on the form (specifically the Microsoft Common Controls 6.0 Toolbar), caused the failure.

The solution was simple: on a patched machine, open each form with an ActiveX control in design mode, compile and save it. It worked for me. Ignore the details of the solution that I wrote in the previous post!

You may need to resave MSCOMCTL. OCX, as suggested in the article, to get your databases to work.

Sessions setting is derived from the setting process, and in most cases, there should be no reason to set it and do not touch.

Setting of 3 sessions is totally, absolutely stupid as background processes with sessions too.
That could be another reason why Oracle happily choose to ignore your changes.

You should spend more time to read the documents, in order to avoid further attempts to wreck Oracle and create more havoc.

Could not find the setting for Touchpad on Elitebook 820

I have an elitebook 820 with windows 7. I would like to know how I can change the setting of the touchpad on the laptop. I looked in the Control Panel, but there is no touchpad menu. I found on the other discussion that the touchpad setting can be found in the mouse on the tab "hardware device" but such tab menu does not exist.

How and where can I change the touchpad on my computer?

Essbase starts an implicit database files restructuring after a preview is changed using the contour or Dimension Build Editor. The kind of restructuring that is performed depends on the type of changes made to the sketch:
- The dense restructuring: If a member of a dense dimension is moved, deleted, or added, Essbase restructures the blocks in the data files and creates new data files. When Essbase restructures data blocks, it automatically regenerates the index so that the index entries to point to the new data blocks. Empty blocks are not deleted. Essbase brand all the blocks that have been restructured as dirty, so after a dense restructuring, you must recalculate the database. Dense, the longest of restructuring, restructuring can take a lot of time for large databases.
- Sparse restructuring: If a member of a sparse dimension is moved, deleted, or added, Essbase restructures the index and creates new files to index. Restructuring of the index is relatively fast; the time needed depends on the size of the index.
- Restructuring of contour only: If a change affects only the outline of the database, Essbase does not restructure the data or index files. Change your member name, aliasing, and dynamic formula changes are examples of changes that affect only the outline of the database.

Impossible to adjust the setting on the proxy computer

I'm updating the Client Adobe CC but I still get the error code '207 '. We also use proxies.

All hell, it's probably very easy for you guys and I thought that I did several times as well... I'm removing the output of sqlplus... but it dose not seem to work... I thought to do that you have to termout OFF... value that I did but does not yet work dose... Here's what I did... I want the exit right going in the spool/log file not displayed... is termout the bad thing I use or?

TERMOUT OFF applies only to concrete results in a script. Ahything you enter the SQL command prompt (or have an OS script enter as if it were at the SQL prompt) still appears.

You can put all your commands in a file like this:

Running Essbase 11.1.2.1

Sought a definitive answer to this and can't seem to find one, hoping that someone here can provide some clarification.

For the sake of arguments, if I wanted to make a '' RESTRUCTURING '' through the Regional service for a 50 GB database, how much free space will have to complete successfully?

A. probably simplified view (assuming the data must land on ora-ess01, have a few "Fireworks" and then go back to the DB), I imagine that something around 150% the size of the file would be sufficient, so about 75 GB free.

We are being advised by our consultants to have 250%, which would mean 125 GB... im assuming they are correct, because they know much more than we mere mortals (me), but if someone could shed some light on this it would be appreciated.

You don't mention if it's ASO or OSB. I'll assume BSO. That, to at least the size of your .pag, .ind, .otl, .esm combined files as it makes copies of all these. a little more would be food. Of course that would be the minimum and if a single database gets restructured and allow growth of DB.

With ASO, you need more space because it creates a copy in the temp directory for as well as the .dat file and so I heard the recommendation of 2 times your dat file, but I think you could get away with less.

I don't know what other factors are your consultant is taken into account I don't know your environment.

I should mention that it's for a simple restructuring, if restructuring is done by exporting the data, delete the DB and reloading, then much more disk is necessary because data would not be compressed on the disk in the export.

Use the data from a DataSet as a source for another (the join between the sets of data)
Hello. I come with a problem, very simple, but which I think is not implemented in the beer Pub.

In the DataModel, I create a DataSet, providing some data (for example, a string from a web service), and after this, I create another set of data that uses this string as a parameter for a database query. Is this possible? The only link I found between the sets of data is only this concatenation of the main data set.

Is there a way that I can do? Thank you!

In Publisher 10 g and sooner you can use a data model to the join and the structure of data from different sources SQL.

In Publisher, 11g, you can join data sets for which Publisher can 'know' on the data fields. For example. In addition to SQL data sets, you can reach Excel, LDAP, MDX and answers. Web Services, like XML file are data sets that editor does not know the data fields, so unfortunately, no way to join them... I know.

Also, true that LOVs can either be SQL or data fixed (i.e. the entered values).

Allowing the Web Service as a source of LOV or a way to define data fields, it's something for us to consider for a future version.

Problem is with the Set accessor of property

I have a class inside a get/set property called IsSomethingCool of type Boolean. The Set accessor resembles this:

Inside this class theres also a test function (): void which basically looks like this:

do a few tests to determine if the object is cool

This function will fire periodically every second or two and the wird thing is instruction trace Test function fires every time, the function of trace inside the Set accessor of property don't shoot any. Lol I ve been doing flex/as3 for 2-3 years now and I just feel like a donkey atm how is this possible?

Well, I found the solution. If the property (or class and therefore property) is set to bindable, the setter is ignored IF the value passed in is the same as it is already. Found a good explanation and the solution here: http://nwebb.co.uk/blog/?p=227

I have trouble to set up my work as an Exchange IMAP messaging in a new installation of Thunderbird. Once I put in the address of the server that Thunderbird retrieved all the security settings, which I checked against the supplied parameters that are listed in the webmail. I've also used these parameters to configure mail IMAP on my phone for triple controls everything. However, in the account configuration screen, I still got the message "Configuration cannot be verified - your name of user and password correct? (again, I checked everything I used independently and they have been accepted). Once I came out of the initial configuration screen error replaced by the following:

"The GSSAPI/Kerberos ticket is not accepted by the < email address > IMAP server. Please check that you are connected to the Kerberos/GSSAPI Kingdom".

The only possibility I can think is that Thunderbird tries to use my e-mail instead of the server to authenticate the reason why I'm getting the error. The e-mail address is [email protected] while the server is soliscom.uu.nl.

Any help or suggestions that anyone has would be welcome,

Under Tools/account settings /AccountName/Server Settings, check that you have for the authentication method. "Normal password" is not the most common configuration for secure connections, Kerberos/GSSAPI, which seems to be the reason why you get the error message.

But if you are sure that the Kerberos/GSSAPI authentication is required, see this article for instructions on how to make the necessary changes in the Config. Publisher:

It does not matter what I change the value of topic: config for plugins.click_to_play, they will always be autoplay. I honestly don't know how long it has been like that, I just noticed that flash junk base was automatic reading and I tried to enable the setting.

The pref plugins.click_to_play control only if you can see a selection from 'Ask to activate' for plugins on Firefox/tools > Modules > Plugins page.
You should always choose this setting for each of the plugins.
