Return of the bound data control method causes IllegalArgumentException

JDeveloper Version: _12.1.2.0.0_GENERIC_130608.2330.6668

Problem:

I have a Service method on a data control which takes the parameters. I'm able to drag the Service method on a JSF/ADF page and it creates an ActionBinding and all links in the input parameter as well. No problem. I can run the page and enter values in the display, press the binding Action and the method on the façade of the Session is called perfectly. So far so good. Now, I want to display the results of the (returned as a collection of POJO) Service method in the method declaration.

If I drag the method declaration of data control on the same page and request that the results will be displayed in a table (or any control that will display a collection, in this example, this is a graph) control is created and all links with her. Once again, so far, so good.

Now I start the page. This time, I IllegalArgumentExceptions (two of them) returned as messages when loading the page. Stack trace looks like this (my apologies, I hate when people put a huge stack traces in positions):

Now, if I fill in the parameters on the screen and call the ActionBinding by pressing the button created, the method calls the function on the façade and the data is returned in the control (chart or table). From that moment, I never have the illegalArgumentException and the page the way I want it.

So, my question is, why the return of the method lie I invoke a method call on a page load until the ActionBinding is called and give me an illegalArgumentException. And - most importantly - how can I avoid this error?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Nigel

    Frank Nimphius-Oracle

    I have a work around for this bug to Oracle.  I have a version in 037 sample that actually works and that will sort the field date.  I'm ready to download a copy to replace the download version that is there if Oracle is listening.  The sample was there 5 years ago so it is regrettable that this bug still exists.

    That's what I did

    create beans with custom queryListener

    On the table

    change

    queryListener = "#{bindings.allEmployeesQuery.processQuery} '"

    TO

    queryListener = "#{queryListenerBean.processQuery} '"

    Add an additional field to the line which is a long value of the Date column.   In the queryListener I change the input filter on the value of long type instead of the date value.

    I do not display the column containing the value of long (time) in the table, but she must appear in the binding of the tree. (shuttles to the right)

    In the listener query

    • Read the filter value Date and read the value of time full, clear the value of the filter date
    • long time set in the filter
    • Run the query by call of the listener of the original request #{bindings.allEmployeesQuery.processQuery}
    • Set the date value to the value entered by the user
    • erase the value of long type

    Here is the code

    {} private void processQuery (QueryEvent queryEvent)

    Table richeTableau = (RichTable) queryEvent.getComponent ();

    FilterableQueryDescriptor filterQD = (FilterableQueryDescriptor) table.getFilterModel ();

    Card filterCriteria = filterQD.getFilterCriteria ();

    Date dt = (Date) filterCriteria.get ("hireDate");

    time of to of subject Date and filter on hireDateLong instead of column hireDate column

    containing the value of long type of date instead of the Date

    If (dt! = null) {}

    TM long = dt.getTime ();

    filterCriteria.put ("hireDateLong", tm);

    filterCriteria.put ("hireDate", null); This must be null or will not work

    }

    DCBindingContainer bc = (DCBindingContainer) BindingContext.getCurrent () .getCurrentBindingsEntry ();

    Object execBinding = bc.findExecutableBinding ("allEmployeesQuery");

    does not perform a cast of the class internal oracle but another technique guided under

    does not work with POJO data control

    run the filter

    (ExecBinding) .processQuery (queryEvent) (FacesCtrlSearchBinding);

    This will fail

    invokeQueryEventMethodExpression ("#{bindings.allEmployeeesQuery.processQuery}",)

    restore the value of the filter if he continues to display in the QBE bar

    filterCriteria.put ("hireDate", dt);

    filterCriteria.put ("hireDateLong", null);

    }

  • Reference the same data control in different pages

    I have two different pages in an application that display a data table referencing the object of the view in data controls. IE: PatientInventory.jspx has a table showing the InventoryView and FullInventory.jspx also has a table showing the InventoryView.
    The support of PatientInventory.jspx bean, I apply a where clause condition clause to the compulsory InventoryViewIterator to filter the results of InventoryView dynamically, to show the inventory related to a patient selected on the page. In FullInventory.jspx, I want to leave InventoryViewIterator without any where clause to show all the inventory of all patients.

    The problem I have is that the tables in the two pages seem to refer to the same object, so the filter applied to PatientInventory.jspx is also applied also to FullInventory.jspx, which is not what I want to display.
    Is it possible to declare the InventoryView link in these two pages to be separate and unique? I already tried their unique ID in their PageDef.xml liaison statements, that is to say:

    PatientInventoryPageDef.xml:
    < iterator lie = "InventoryView1" RangeSize = '25' DataControl = "AppModuleDataControl" id = "PatientInventoryView1Iterator" Refresh = "always" / >

    FullInventoryPageDef.xml:
    < iterator lie = "InventoryView1" RangeSize = '25' DataControl = "AppModuleDataControl" id = "FullInventoryView1Iterator" Refresh = "always" / >

    This is expected behavior since you use the same instance of the view object (InventoryView1) in the two pages.
    try using a different object instance in each page.

  • The substitution of control methods

    Howdy all,

    I need Flash help. I'm competent enough to AS 3 with Flex, but I don't know how I could do this in Flash. I create an Audio command/library object for our Flash developers. They create several SWFs in Flash that must load into a Flex presentation system I developed.

    Here's what I asked: how to replace the methods stop, stop and gotoAndPlay at level root a Flash FLA? The docs are not all events generated by those calls, so my only recourse is to try to substitute their so when Flex stop calls on the loaded SWF, Audio control object knows that he has to stop playing all sounds. SoundMixer.stopAll () is not an option at this stage, for a few reasons. In Flex, I simply extend some object (say Movieclip) and use instead; However, I don't think this is possible at the root of the Flash. Simply by putting statements override in the timeline will produce an error.

    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Search for "Declaring a document class" in using Flash. Should be just what you

    Hello

    If the code is not a specific instance, then you can use the following approach

    Hello

    I exposed some methods by including them in the client interface of my module of the application. I tested the app module and I can call methods. I refreshed the data control, but I do not see the data control methods. I have several other client application with interface module and I can see the operation. I only have the problem with this module of the application.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Close jdev, delete the folder the model project of the module of the application classes and the classes folder of the project view controller where you want to use the datacontrol, start jdev, recompile the project model (and deploy the lib, if you use the library), recompile the view controller and finally see if you see the methods in the datacontrol.

  • Customer connection remains for the data control

    I ve recently created an ejb rest aplication consequence with the tutorial of:https://blogs.oracle.com/imc/entry/building_simple_java_ee_rest

    It works perfectly in factor.

    Now, I want to create the client application.

    I started to make adf web application, and in the template project, I want to get the webservice through the connection still to expose it as a datacontrol to user interface layer.

    However, I m in web service data to create order Wizard, in the first step, create the connection REMAINS, I put endpoint URL: "the url I get when deploy the web service application" but when I test gives:' error received: forbidden ' or if I put the url of a method: ' received error: the source cannot be found.'

    How can I fix it, please.

    Thanks in advance.

    Carlos

    Your REST is back JSON or XML.

    The REST data control now supports only the XML responses.

    Here's a demo of use basis:

    https://blogs.Oracle.com/Shay/entry/accessing_remote_databases_from_oracle

    If you return JSON, at this point, you create a Java class that parses the JSON and then to expose this class as a data control.

  • The execution of a method of DC with parameters: variable bindings or pageFlowScope?

    I use a data control method to send the email that has parameters.  Based on the behavior I see when I drag and drop methods of data control to a page and I have JDeveloper automatically generate a form of parameter, I did the following which uses to store the settings.

    My data control method sendEmail method that has two input parameters 'recipient' and 'sender '.

    <af:commandImageLink id="cil1" icon="/images/email.png" actionListener="#{bindings.sendEmail.execute}">
        <af:setActionListener from="#{row.recipient}" to="#{bindings.sendEmail_recipient.inputValue}"/>
        <af:setActionListener from="#{row.sender}" to="#{bindings.sendEmail_sender.inputValue}"/>
    </af:commandImageLink>

    Can I manually set the sendEmail_recipient and sendEmail_sender variables in the definition of page like this file...

    <variableIterator id="variables">
        <variable Type="java.lang.String" Name="sendEmail_recipient" IsQueriable="false"/>
        <variable Type="java.lang.String" Name="sendEmail_sender" IsQueriable="false"/>
    </variableIterator>

    . . .

    <attributeValues IterBinding="variables" id="sendEmail_recipient">
        <AttrNames>
            <Item Value="sendEmail_recipient"/>
        </AttrNames>
    </attributeValues>
    <attributeValues IterBinding="variables" id="sendEmail_sender">
        <AttrNames>
            <Item Value="sendEmail_sender"/>
        </AttrNames>
    </attributeValues>

    .. then I put my method parameters in the definition of page like this file...

    <methodAction id="sendEmail" RequiresUpdateModel="true"

                      Action="invokeMethod" MethodName="sendEmail"

                      IsViewObjectMethod="false" DataControl="CustomDC"

                      InstanceName="CustomDC.dataProvider">

          <NamedData NDName="recipient"

                     NDValue="#{bindings.sendEmail_recipient}"

                     NDType="java.lang.String"/>

          <NamedData NDName="sender"

                     NDValue="#{bindings.sendEmail_sender}"

                     NDType="java.lang.String"/>

    </methodAction>

    Notice that I use the GUI to define the parameters of the method, but the changes to the XML here is the same.

    A colleague asked why it saying that it is just as easy to put my data in pageFlowScope like that...

    <af:commandImageLink id="cil1" icon="/images/email.png" actionListener="#{bindings.sendEmail.execute}">

        <af:setActionListener from="#{row.recipient}" to="#{pageFlowScope.sendEmail_recipient}"/>

        <af:setActionListener from="#{row.sender}" to="#{pageFlowScope.sendEmail_sender}"/>

    </af:commandImageLink>

    .. then change the method like this...

    <methodAction id="sendEmail" RequiresUpdateModel="true"

                      Action="invokeMethod" MethodName="sendEmail"

                      IsViewObjectMethod="false" DataControl="CustomDC"

                      InstanceName="CustomDC.dataProvider">

          <NamedData NDName="recipient"

                     NDValue="#{pageFlowScope.sendEmail_recipient}"

                     NDType="java.lang.String"/>

          <NamedData NDName="sender"

                     NDValue="#{pageFlowScope.sendEmail_sender}"

                     NDType="java.lang.String"/>

    </methodAction>

    In this way does not require that I define "variables" in the definition of page file.

    My question is why or why not this method of using pageFlowScope appropriate or better than using "links" to store my parameter values and the link between my commandImageLink and the method of backend?

    User, tell us your version of Jdev, please!

    The iterator variable lives only with the page. Scope of page file lives in the course of the entire task. If a difference is the scope of variables. It is not necessary to their scope of flow layout. You can use views instead. The two approaches can be used, but I would like to put these partners in the iterator as variable they so clearly show its use here. You go green like any other attribute of the link layer that gives you more consistent programming experience.

    A question, if you move the method into the page create a form of parameter, parameter variables must be created automatically by the framework of he. From your description, I understand that this was not the case?

  • Frames of data control and example of Servlet of Duncan Mill

    The harvest of April 2011, Frank included a link to the blog of Duncan Mill on the creation of a servlet which could reuse an existing page definition in order to get the servlet data controls to perform tasks.

    http://blogs.Oracle.com/Groundside/entry/integrating_adf_and_servlets

    In the example of Mr. Mill, the possibility of obtaining the data controls is based on the ability to obtain a frame of data control name. BindingContext.getCurrent () .getCurrentDataControlFrame)

    You visit an ADF page with a bean to support that gets this control framework and the thicket in the servlet session. The subsequent servlet and then gets this value from the session and use it to get in the data controls in the definition of the associated page. Everything depends on a user using a browser to hit a page and then struck a servlet.

    What happens if I have an external process that needs to call the servlet directly? No appeal of page, no navigation software, just a straight call servlet where the servlet needs a binding context to obtain data controls to work? Is it possible for the servlet make a call which translates into a new framework of control of data generated for use by the servlet?

    Thank you

    You can. And the code you gave seems OK to me. Have you added your servlet for the adfBindings filter (in the web.xml file)? Then only you can access the link container (as the filter puts it in place).

    Don't know how it happened but my file deleted is past the last date in an alphabetical list. How ti to return with the last date in?

    original title: deleted file.

    If you mean the trash in Explorer mode, simply click on the column heading "Date deleted" until the most recent appears first on the list. If you do not have this column, do a right click No matter what column header and click to put a check on 'Delete Date' in the context menu that appears.

  • Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery problem shows "plugged in, not charging." Help, please.

    Dear Sir

    I'm having a strange problem. My laptop (HP DM3) shows "plugged in, not charging". I searched on the net and according to some expert instruction, I took out the battery, plugged, booted my laptop computer and since the Device Manager I uninstalled Microsoft ACPI compliant method control pile driver, then off, UN-pluged, inserted my battery, and then restarted again. My battery has shown that charge but after awhile it automatically installed stack method compatible ACPI Microsoft and my problem was back. Please give me a solution for this problem. I'm having extreme difficulties for her. Your kind response to the question mentioned will be highly appreciated.

    Mohapurush

    Hi Mohapurush,

    Compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery component supports the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) control method battery, include an interface to control method of code ACPI Machine Language (AML) between the battery and the host computer.

    You can use any type of communication interface supported by ACPI and any type of battery because the battery interface is fully accessible by the AML code control methods.

    Battery monitoring and management are available only on compatible computers ACPI and APM-enabled. Windows can handle the batteries that have a smart battery subsystem interface or interface of battery method of control on ACPI computers. Windows can also monitor several batteries.

    I recommend you contact the manufacturers of the system and check the settings on your computer.
