Reuse license windows 7

Hi, over the years I have improved my versions of windows (now on the 8.1) on my desktop pc.

My girlfriend has windows vista, is it possible for me to install windows 7 on his laptop - ask only because I had initially installed it on my desktop pc before windows 8... I'm not sure how the license key? That is to say - if it is still linked to my office because ive been renovated her or not?

Thank you.

Only if Windows 7 is a retail full or upgrade version and it was not the original base on your desktop license.

You said over the years, you have upgraded to Windows, so the original version of Windows that was on your PC was either Windows XP or Vista and you then upgrade to Windows 7 to 8.1 Windows, then you are free to move the Windows 7 license on another computer.

If the license of Windows 7 is pre-installed, the answer is no.

If its if retail, you can upgrade the Vista computer and reactivate by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Reuse of Windows 7 license after free update of Windows 10?

    Hi all!

I was wondering if I'll be free to reuse my Windows 7 license key after the free upgrade to Windows 10 on July 29.

I've already reserved my copy, and yes I'm very happy. The only problem I see is because it is a version of Windows 7 OEM for Sony VAIO, so maybe it will not work if I use it in a new computer? If I can in any?

I hope that you guys understand my question and good day!

    Hello

Your Windows 7 OEM license has become an integral part of the upgrade to Windows 10 process.

If you cannot reinstall Windows 7 as a dual boot either in your Sony or move it to another computer.

OEM licenses that you cannot transfer anyway.

OEM licenses are tied to the first machine, on which they are installed and die when the machine that dies.

    See you soon.

    Hello

I had installed Windows 7 Professional on my pc and later updated to upgrade to windows 8. I have now bought a MacBook Pro and I am hoping to use Bootcamp to partition my hard drive, to allow me to use Windows as OS X. So, I have a few questions.

    1. I'll be able to reuse my Windows 7 Pro CD for my MacBook and it produces is essential, given that is is not active on any machine?
    2. If this is not the case, what is recommended?

    Thank you

    Original title: Windows 7

Only the Windows 8 OEM System Builder licenses are full versions. The retail version of Windows 8 is not a full version, but an upgrade and requires a previous version of Windows (XP, Vista, Windows 7 installed) in order to use it.

Commercial versions of Windows 8.1 are full versions. Have different product keys is not a full version.

Hi all. Someone can unmask, I want to buy a license Windows 7 or 8 for my lenovo s210. But there is no room under the license sticker. I know it's a different way by the bios, what is right in this situation?

Hello. The laptop was with free BACK, so was unlicensed in the bios. Maybe you have not understood my question. I was wondering how to put on the bottom COA license sticker, because there is not room for her doing. But in anyway, I stuck on the knurled and fixed with scotch.

  • Hi, how can I transfer my license windows from the old to the new computer

I have a windows xp system recently that the hard drive has no operatre. If I bought a new system can I transfer license windows to my new system...

I'll be able to down load the updates...

It depends on the license.  If you have purchased a copy of Windows XP retail, then you should be able to transfer it to another machine.  If you have an OEM license, however, your license is married to your machine and it dies when your machine dies.  If you bought a brand such as Dell, HP or Toshiba computer, and it came with Windows XP installed, then it is likely an OEM license.

Note that the same install a retail version of Windows XP on a modern machine can not be easy.  The installation CD does not recognize a SATA hard drive, and to install a driver so that he will see the player will require that you have a floppy drive.  The alternative is to integrate driver into your installation disk.

If you plan to buy a new computer, I recommend you go with the new version of Windows that comes with it.

  • I want to install a second hard drive in my laptop (mSata SSD), so do I create a system dual boot with the same license Windows on each disc.

    Original title: Dual Boot Laptop

I want to install a second hard drive in my laptop (mSata SSD), I have two programs to install that "do not receive the", so I can create a system dual boot with the same license Windows on each disc. I can run only one at a time, and it's the same pc/laptop.

No, you can't, a second facility would be like installing on a second computer, you will need to purchase a second license.

  • Windows 7 family pack (3) license - Windows 10

What happens to my purchased retail license for a 'family pack' of three licenses of Windows 7, if I 'upgrade' one of the computers is installed in Windows 10.

When I bought this license, I bought also the rights of re - install this on another computer, as long as there are no more than three at a point in time.  As far as I could tell, ya no limits to it in many times I can do that, or time.  There is activation code that one only for three licenses, or in other words, a single license for 3 computers.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software of of that upgrade

When I install a preinstalled (OEM) or the retail version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 Windows 10 license, this license OEM to remain or become a retail license?

If you upgrade an OEM or retail version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 for the free Windows 10 update this summer, the license is consumed in it. Because the free update is derived from the basic qualification license, Windows 10 will be that too many licenses.

If you are upgrading a retail version, it carries the rights to a commercial version.

If you upgrade an OEM version, it carries the rights of an OEM version.

    Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM:

OEM of Windows versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

What happens if I change my motherboard?

This would cancel the upgrade of Windows 10 license because he no longer a previous eligible license, which is required for the free update. Then, you will need to purchase a Windows 10 full retail license.

  • Resettlement and reuse of Windows 7 and MS Office 2010 licenses?

    Hello

I have a laptop with Windows 7 Pro AO LATAM installed and MS Office 2010 installed.

The OS came installed when the laptop was purchased, and the MS Office was installed later.

I don't have the installation media of the any of them.

What I want is to format my laptop and be able to reinstall the OS and MS Office.

    Questions:

    (1) how can I get/download the installation media for them?

    (2) is it possible to reuse Windows license/activation key?

    (3) is it possible to re-use the MS Office license/activation key?

I hope you guys can give me some advice!

    Thanks in advance!

    (1) how can I get/download the installation media for them?

Where did you get the Microsoft Office if it has been installed? You must have a license for Microsoft Office as well as the key of original product, installation files. If someone simply installed for you, then its not real likely.

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

    (2) is it possible to reuse Windows license/activation key?

You can reuse the license on the same computer, but no where else.

    (3) is it possible to re-use the MS Office license/activation key?

Only if it is licensed to retail that you have purchased.

  • Reuse of Windows 7 license?

A few years ago, I bought a Windows 7 disc from a retailer and installed on a MACBook using Parallels to have a Virtual Machine from W7 on the MACBook.  After a while, the need for the Virtual Machine disappeared and I uninstalled W7 in Parallels and then uninstalled Parallels on the MACBook.

The label on States of drive of W7 "OEM System Builder Pack" packaging and delivery information States "M17-7302-Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM DVD".  The license to apply this W7 license on another computer (such as a computer from bare bones) and still be in line with the licence?

OEM licenses do not transfer rights, have even after installation in a Virtual Machine. Apart from that, you can always try to install on a new machine and reactivate over the telephone. Many people have managed to break this gap.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    Hello

I currently have a system with Win7 HP OEM - if I use the "Anytime upgrade" for Win7 Pro, I can then reuse the Win7 HP OEM license of origin on a newly built system?

Microsoft does not sell the license without the media.

If you find someone who sells just the license, it is not legitimate.

If you were to make your build and install Windows 7, you can buy the license when you activate, but it would be less expensive.
