Reuse Windows 7 Key on the same computer?

I will soon get an SSD that I intend to install my OS on. I can't create a system image to transfer to the new drive because my scores are all strange, and there is not much point in trying to correct. I have to turn off the key with slmgr.vbs /upk in the command prompt or could I just install Windows from disk as usual without having to turn off?

Install Windows 7 from the usual installation disc and reactivate using the product key even if you are prompted.

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

    Alyosha,

Remove or uninstall Windows Vista is possible in specific scenarios. You please clarify how you did your installation of Windows Vista?

    1. have you installed your new ultimate configuration on a new partition?

    2. have you you choose customized and placed the installation in the same partition as your old ultimate configuration? In this case you see two Windows folder in your C: drive / drive (or any other partition)? (Possibly with the .old extension)

For installation of two operating systems to Windows Vista on two separate partitions study the following:

    Note:

    • Formatting a volume will destroy all data on the partition. Be sure to make backups of all the data to save before you begin.
    • You cannot format a disk or partition that is currently in use, including the partition that contains Windows.
    • Quick format is a formatting option that creates a new file table, but do not completely overwrite or erase the volume. A quick format is much faster than a normal format, which fully erases the existing data on the volume.

    1. open computer management by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-click computer management. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. in the Navigation pane, under storage, click disk management.

    3. right click on the volume that you want to format, and then click format.

    4. to format the volume with the default settings, in the format dialog box, click OK, and then click OK again.

After downloading and using Easy Transfer to back up files on an external hard drive (which is where they are now) for the purpose of upgrading Windows XP to Windows 7, I have now decided not to continue because the purchase of a new computer with Windows 7 already loaded is a purchase that I'll soon make and so I'd be disadvantaged I now realize given the short waiting period if I pass with a Windows 7 buy some now.

After an extensive attempt to re - install the operating system, I can't activate the product because, supposedly, my product key is not valid. • Unable to activate Windows 7 Professional in spite of being a reinstall of the same product on the same computer

Hello. I have a computer that was running Windows 7 Professional. The software has been installed on the computer and authentic and purchased several years ago. Due to problems, I had to reformat the HARD drive and reload Windows 7 Professional on the same computer using the same product key.

Now it will not activate and comes up with an error 0xC004C020 code which States that "the activation server reported that the Multiple Activation key has exceeded its limit"

I do not understand why this has happened. I bought the copy of Windows 7 Professional on ebay and I have the box, case and the two original disks of Windows 7 Professional, as well as the authentic product key sticker. He was recharged on the same computer that was originally activated copy (same product key)

I have attached the report of diagnosis MGA below. Would like to find a solution for this. Thanking you in advance.

Unfortunately a mass activation key is used by the company to activate several PC and not meant or sold for use by consumers.  Understanding the MAK Activation

When you mention you bought on eBay that explains it pretty well because there are hundreds of early cases of consumers ripped off on eBay by Volume and TechNet keys sold illegally.

If you don't have any other Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 license to use for the upgrade, what I would do is go ahead a buy Windows 10 and make the Clean 10 Windows Installer that has no complaints and if you stick with the steps in the link results in the best installation of the best OS who's going to stay that way as long as you do.

You can not, for at least one (and two possible) reasons.

    1. it isn't clean if you want to have two computers, or you
you want to remove from the old computer and put it on the new. If
you want once, you can't do that - the rule is very clear: there
a copy (or a license) for each computer.

There is nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that has been in
effect on all versions of Windows from at least with Windows 3.1.

    2. but even if you want it on a single and from uninstall
the old computer, you can't do it. It is because if it came with the
computer, it is an OEM version and the biggest drawback to he a
OEM version, is that its license it permanently binds to the first
It is installed on the computer. He can never legally be moved to another
computer, sold or assigned (except with the original computer).

I uninstalled XP and tried to load Window 7 s. had driver problems. Let down. Now I can't reinstall XP on the same computer using the product key on the case. I get a message "invalid Key". It's a Dell PC 6 years, if that matters.

As I said, you will need the manufacturer's recovery disk, or disk OEM System Builder.

Do you have which drive tried to use?

You may be able to borrow a disk OEMSB from a friend - or you may be able to order the Dell recovery disks (they are cheap).

If it worked the first time, there is no reason that it will not work the second time on the same computer, as long as the Windows 7 is a full version.

If this is an upgrade version, you must have the qualifying OS installed and enabled before you upgrade and it will work.

    Yes.

    Not at all.

    N °

If you have Windows 7 with an OEM license agreement (it came pre-installed on the computer is the most likely scenario for this, but you can buy OEM copies so) or you have a license to retail (upgrade or full version) - the way your question is worded is very specific - you * can * install Windows 7 costs/clean on this same system as much as you wish.  A new hard drive won't stop you activation - well that at some point, you need to activate by phone, as opposed to over the Internet.

Now - if the motherboard is replaced and it's licensed OEM and replacement was not that of the OEM that probably set up your computer...  Then you have a problem.

Unless you happen to have a license of Windows 7 retail sales, so it is not related to the computer (motherboard).
