RH9. How do I restart page numbering in a multilevel list

My goal is to achieve the following objectives:

1 jlfjlsjflsfjslfj

2 sfjslfjs f sjflworuworuw

ruwojsflsuwopr a.

fsfwrwo b.

3 fowrfsjflsjrw

4 fsrwrw

fswrrwv a.

wrworuworuw b.

c. wrwoumwrw

I use a Style called list numbered. For the subset, I select "Start at level 2 List".

'Step 4' now has sub-steps "d", "e" and "f" below but I can't find a way to make the second set of subsets of restart once again on "a".

I've tried right-clicking on the first stage in the second set (e.g. in 4A), by selecting bullets and numbers, then the tab numbers, by selecting the icon of a. c. b. and setting the restart numbering at 1. The stage now has an 'a', but the police and the dashes are all wrong.

(I have not create the CSS or the list styles, but have tried to figure it out by searching the forum, help and the wonderful site of Peter G..) »)

All thoughts welcome.

Carol

I think that the question is about the sub not restart in A rather than creating them in the first instance.

Logically, you right-click and choose Bullets and numbers and restart, except that has a bug.

Right click and select list Styles. You can restart page numbering. Don't worry if it says 1 instead of A. The reset resets to A.

How to change the page numbers after you add and save the page numbers in the pdf document - need to change the existing page printed on the upper right in the header numbers.

These page numbers were initially created using Acrobat PDF header and footer.

I have a 750 page pdf document that I've created.

I have to sometimes the pages up and down after that I added the page numbers in the document by using the Header_Footer tool on the right column of tools.

But after you save the document, if I get a few pages around, I can't go back and change the page numbers.

I thought that the page numbers, as indicated in the header and footer must have changed automatically, but I guess that once its print, that it cannot be edited - is that, as what is?

So I guess we should always first get a copy without numbers of pages before confirming the documents and the creation of an index.

A way to remove these page numbers already there and add new page numbers.

Its a lot of work to align 750 court documents and then realize that you must move some and then realize the page numbers cannot be changed and thus begin to do this all over again to compile which can take about 10 hours.

My question is quite simple, but I hope that overall, I got my point. Sorry if I made it is too complex.

If no simple way, want to know if anyone has another different tool or a few recommendations to better highlight what I'm doing wrong.

Thank you for your review and response.

How can I insert page numbers

To insert page numbers in a script, you can go to the 'Production' in the menu bar. Click on change header/footer-> other Pages.

A dialog box is displayed. You can now customize the footer and choose 'page number' from the drop-down menu according to the alignment (left, right, Center) that suits you. Then click on 'OK '.

    I hope this helps.

  • Notes - restart page numbering for each chapter (workaround)

    Hi all

As far as I know, there is no way how to reset the reference numbering in ID CS4 (it would be ideal to have any possibility to choose the paragraph style, which could rely on that). Available only three options are available for the reset, all IMHO quite useless for documents faces double - pages numbered page and division (I located him so the names may differ). My chapters always starts on the front page. If the individual "divisions" would be created for each chapter and reset at the beginning of each division, as the division starts on the back page! (cannot be changed), it resets the previous chapter reference numbers, if they appear on this page at the back. But I agree that for documents single side, this option would be sufficient for me.

Is there no workaround solution how to restart notes with each chapter numbering in the double faces documents? It could be scripted? I really need it...

Hang on, I think I got it.

When you're paging the regularly in your document, you use Alt + Pg. Prev / Alt + PgDown (Previous Spread) InDesign always selects the current spread. When you use SHIFT + PG. PREC and Shift + PgDown screen irritating jumps from the left to the right, so I do not use it, but it's the right page selected in the Pages panel.

The difference is, when propagation is selected in the Pages panel, the new Section is automatically applied to the first (= left) page in which spread.

If you right click on the page in the Pages panel, where do you want to actually start the new section, it will always apply to the correct. (And if you're a keyboard jockey, first navigate to the correct spread, then press on shift + page down once to get the point on the right page-- right.)

  • How to make the page numbers see the v.5.6.2 Pages automatically through the document?

    MacOs 10.11.4, v5.6.2 Pages.

How can I make Pages automatically page numbers?  I want to be able to scroll through a multipage created from a blank template document & print specific pages.  Have sought and found answers on paging, but no address my question.  JV

Pages v5.6.2 dislike doing anything automatically. Page numbers are shown to you when you scroll through a document:

    1. Associated with each thumbnail in this display mode
    2. By inserting the page number in the header or the footer

That's all for v5.6.2 Pages. Whenever you want to print a specific page, you will need to check the Pages: of the _____ to the _____ in the OS X Print Panel and specify the same value for each entry field to print the page in question. There is no automatic printing of selected pages in the selection of this Panel paper handling.

Pages ' 09 v4.3 would show the current page number on a lower status bar, with or without page numbers inserted in the header of document/footers. This view could be clicked, and it would change to a text entry where we could fix the jump to page number.

  • How can I add page numbers to PDF in Adobe Reader ms?

I'm used to be able to add page numbers to PDF with an older version of the player. How can I do that in DC?

    Hi elizabethc54956057,

It is not possible to add page numbers to PDF with Adobe Reader.

You may use the software Adobe Acrobat for the same thing.

  • How will we move page numbers just a bit when they are not defined by using a master page?

Forgive me if this is super obvious, but I am very new and meet with an INDIVIDUAL who has a hard time finding.

So I have a book w / page centered at the bottom of each page numbers. This seems to remain separated from body text. My understanding is that the best way to manage the headers and footers is the master pages feature, but one that has made this book, all of these master pages left blank. I'm not sure how they apply page numbers.

I can easily select page numbers, one at a time and move them up to 5pts, but is there a way to make it more automated? If this isn't the case, it is more precisely, it is a way to move ALL content on all pages to the top of 5 points instead?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Apart from via a script, no there is no way to do this in InDesign. According to the number of pages you have, I simply add the page number automatic on master pages and then erase individual numbers on each page. In this way, you can move them easily in the future. To insert the automatic page number, draw a text frame on the master page and choose text > insert special character > markers > current Page number. If it is a document of face page, copy it into the two pages in the position you want.

  • How to get the page numbers of the tiny Roman numerals?

    OK, easy...

    Using InDesign CC 2014.

    I created page numbers by:

    • create a text box on the Master Page, which is big enough for any size page number... it's in the head of the race
    • Type > insert special character > markers > current Page number

I put the page numbers in the preliminary pages to lowercase Roman numerals:

    • Numbering and Section Options
    • Page numbering > Style > i, ii, iii, iv...
      • Confirmed (list drop-down box, i, ii, iii, iv... is checked)

The problem is that in the head of the race, the sheets are capital letters: I, II, III, IV... (In the text section, folios switch back to Arabic numerals, OK. And on the preliminary pages, opening pages, where I use a folio of gout, it is tiny Roman.)

    How can I fix this?

    Walton

Can you share just this page (delete content) as an .indd file so that we can watch. You can use dropbox.com or similar and post the link here.

Edit: when you select the marker, what the police does show?

  • How can I add page numbers to PDF?

I combined multiple files into a PDF file.  How can I add my combined document page numbers?

    Hi Patti-IWFNorCal,

It cannot be executed via the service to create a PDF file once you have created the PDF file.

You can effortlessly add page numbers in the PDF document in Acrobat.

    1. Tools - Pages - Edit Page Design - Header & Footer - add header & footer.

    2. Select the font and size, etc., place the cursor on the appropriate site to insert the page number, click on the button "Insert Page number" and click OK.

  • Whence go and how to recover my page numbers?

    1. new Adobe Indesign CS4 (.indd file) document created from old file .p65 to Pagemaker.  Had page numbers at this time.

2 moved some text around and changed the Table of contents (which was part of the text of the .indd, not generated by Indesign file) to reflect the changes in the text. Was still, at this time, page numbers.

3 went to do a PrintBooklet and export to a .pdf file so that I could print from Adobe Acrobat.  Does not check for page numbers.

4 has started to print and realized the page numbers disappeared - not only that they were not in the .pdf file, they were gone from the .indd file.

5 see two dredged upward by a Google web pages.  Also had sent Indesign CS3 for Dummies.

    6. all sources are unanimous that I should have access the pages of Master Document - there is a single right-hand page on which the document starts and then double-spread pages accordingly - and use the text tool to draw an image on one side of the two-page master, then make a Page number current/marker/special character Type/Insert.  Repeat on the other side. And see if you now have the numbering of the pages in the actual pages of the text.

    7. I did a panel of window/Pages/Pages, drew my first image on the page master double page, then tried the Type/insert a special character.  It did not show a letter as they had said.  Similarly, on the other side.

8 not only that, but it marked my frames like mistakes at the bottom left of the screen, the call then the "overset text" and was not happy until I removed them.

    9. as a final indignity, I couldn't understand how to check actually document pages themselves, as whenever I did a "go to Page" he registered only the Master Document as a possibility.

You could have simply expanded them until the page numbers are visible.

The page break displays only the masters if you are a teacher or pages live when you are there. If you had just typed a 1 you would have gone to page 1.

  • How can I add page numbers to PDF printouts?

The table of contents lists topics by page numbers, but the subjects themselves don't have page numbers, so the page numbers in table of contents are pretty useless, aren't they?

    Thank you! "

    No,

Once more, a little exploration and detective respond to my question; If a page is empty, he gets a page number. Most of my text is on the odd pages, with a few running on the next page - same.

    Fact.

I use the native features of MS Word to produce numbered lists. However, as indicated below, the following lists of the same types of elements reporter prospectively, rather than restart the numbering. Is it possible to use the native feature of MS Word for numbered lists or should I create a sequential variable and return between the grouped items? I use the BEEP, version 10.

  • CS3/CS4: How to get/change page numbering?

I need to change the pages numbering in the document programmatically, but I can't find any information on this subject.

The only thing I found is variable of kTextChar_PageNumber that I can use to insert in the text.

Which of your interfaces should I use to change the numbering of the pages?

    Thanks in advance.

If you have your UID page, then when you use GetPageString of ISectionList, by default you should also get the name of the section included. If you want to get bridge to this article - you can browse all and try to match with the pefix of the section of your page.
