  Hi I'm new here - apologies if it's a clear message

  I have a developed gui application and work - typical boot sequence - MyApp extends UIApplication and the MyApp main() method creates a new instance of the app and call app.enterEventDisplatcher ();

  in the constructor of MyApp, I create an instance of MyScreen which extends screen and implements FocusChangeListener.  so far so normal if I understand correctly.

  What I want is to be able to launch my application of the Ribbon and a menu screen in the standard BB calendar app.

  It is - how?

  I'm confused by several different messages/samples on the question to know if I need another point of entry or a new application to create the menu items in the standards BB calendar app.

  Examples of popular code - necessary guidance.

  OK - the 'Ribbon' is the menu system app that appears when you select "switch application" in the menu system, or -press ESC on trackball devices, or press and hold the MENU button in 5.0 and later versions.

  What you are looking for is achieved by creating an ApplicationMenuItem and adding the ApplicationMenuItem to the ApplicationMenuItemRepository (for the application of the target).

  You can add a menu to the app Messages, calendar, tasks, maps, etc. (most BB apps). When your menu item is selected, the menu item "run" method is called, passing a context object. The specific object type varies from application to application.

  Of course, you'll want to sign up to the device to start menu items, so that's where the other entry point comes into play. Configure you your application for "autorun" and specify the parameter that is passed on Autostart, so that your application can make the difference between a boot system and an entry in the icon. Main() you will be SO called twice - once to start, and once again when the user clicks on the icon.

  Another thing to know - when your menu item run() is called, it's calle in the context of the application of BB.   Not quite sure what type of advice that you expect from this community, but according to the information displayed in your original post, there is certainly a problem of related material and there is only one solution: need to replace defective parts. This can be done by technicians available in your country.

• Why can't I access the tasks in the Ribbon bar

  until recently, I have not had problems, but now I can't open the items on the Ribbon on the top of the page. On the homepage is nothing lite upward to access them, nothing is lite up on top of any one of them except like the print tab. How can I solve this problem?

  Which product are you - this resembles internet explore and not Security Essentials, which is the goal of this forum?  It could also be an Office product type, in light of your use of the term tape.

  What browser are you using (name and version - the full version of the help / about in the browser menu)?  If it is a different program, what name and version?  This Ribbon is top of page who does not (which is the name of the Tools/Ribbon bar or what its content)?  What version of Windows are you using EXACTLY (for example, 32-bit Vista Business SP2 or other)?  When did you start this problem?

  Pending your response with these answers and a response to that, you could try a generic solution.  Do you know when this problem started?  So relatively recent, try a restore of the system to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  If you use Windows 7, see:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. • Delete snipping tool buttons on the taskbar - Ribbon box

  If you really want to get rid of the cutting tool you must enable disable group policy rule.

  I have a class derived from the screen. In this class, I have not replaced the makeMenu method. Yet, only 'close' present in the menu and "Swtich application" ever arises.

  This happens in the JDE 4.2 and 4.5 but does not reach the JDE 4.7.

  However I have seen applications that run on 4.2 which have an "application swtich" MenuItem.

  In the constructor of my class, I even tried calling the screen constructor with DEFAULT_MENU style, but no effect.

  And, of course, you can build your own Ribbon using PopupScreen popup.

  I have too many icons (and I guess that the apps too) current execution to the screen when you switch apps. I tried to go into the app and then clicking 'Close' in the menu, the button end call and nothing seems to work. Some applications have the word 'exit' on their menus and that seems to do the trick for some, but not all. HELP PLEASE!

  There are several applications that always appear on the Ribbon of app-switcher... Phone, home screen, BBM (if you install), browser and Messages. Many additional applications must always be resident to operate. Other applications will indeed if you select (the app) to close or quit the app menu. If you can expand on 'too much', then perhaps we can help you better understand.

  Hi and welcome to the Forums!

  Whenever random strange behaviors creep, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  Other one - it's a matter of time to get used to. Press and release the BBKey must bring up the menu. Taking the BBKey should show the Ribbon to switch to App. Depressed that the moment was a question for me to get used to it.

• Problems of blackBerry Smartphones with the BBkey (also known as the menu button)

  Sometimes when I'm in an application and want to click on one of the list of the menu items (for example, delete), when I click on the menu button, which appears are some of the icons on the home page.  (I'm really tired of looking at this little Penguin...).  If I persist, I can usually get the pop-up menu option, but it's boring.  I'm sure it's a software problem.  I had this problem after a while on my first lap.  I had to replace the one because of other problems.  I used the switch device Wizard to transfer everything, so I guess he also transferred everything that is causing this issue.

  Everyone knows about this problem?  Any ideas on what to do?  I don't want to reinstall the OS - I'd rather upward with the problem.  Thank you.

  The BBKey/Menu button has two functions.

  (1) to bring up a context menu of the application, you are

  (2) to bring up the Ribbon app-switcher (a list of all your applications in the course of execution so that you can change quickly from a different application...)

  The difference is how long you hold down the key. For 1, it is a support and quick release. For 2, it is down. Sometimes it gets bad, but with practice, you'll be able to get what you want most of the time (not 100% but... I always get a wrong result sometimes).

• Quick blackBerry Smartphones - when menu?

  I was not able to understand the reason for these actions that happens when I press the menu key.  I usually get an options menu that appears on the lower left of the screen.  This is the goal.  However, there are times when I press the menu key I get a bar on the screen with 5 other applications of your choice.  Applications that are raised are not always the same.  Usually pressing the previous button and then the menu button will get the regular menu of the current application but at other times the bar keeps coming back and I can't function in the menu.  Any ideas?

  Press and hold the Menu button for about two seconds will always activate the so-called App Switcher Ribbon bar.

  Quickly tapping the Menu key always bring up the normal Menu, you have described.

  These are the circumstances and in which the different menus are presented... it is all in how long you press the Menu key.
