  I'm currently testing a free subscription, multi folio kiosk app with refunds. However, the viewer opens without any folios - just the tiles of the subscription. I have triple checked the product Apple ID, shared secrets and that all appropriate certificates. I'm at my wit's end! A few questions:

  Should free subscriptions folios be public/free or retail? I read conflicting things.

  I'm a little unsure of the order in which I should publish folios in the producer of folio. This step proceed or follow creating the .ipa to test?

  A free subscription should be public/free, not retail.

  It does not matter what order you publish folios and create the .ipa to test. When you publish the folios as free and Public, they should appear in your app tests if (A) you specify the shared secret, (B) published folios like Public/Free, (C) set up your refunds/folios correctly and d specified free subscription Product ID created in iTunes Connect in the DPS App Builder.

  When you set up the formats for an app of the subscription, the values of name of slip, product ID, and Date of Publication must be the same for all partners and different formats for each set of "rendition". Specify the values of Date of Publication by choosing from the calendar picker.

  We create a DPS application for a customer with very specific needs that right for their members. Unfortunately, their server will be unavailable for a few months, but they still want to get their app on the market as soon as possible (originally scheduled for submission next week). They also need their members free access to the material until the server is in place.

  Now they want to be on iTunes kiosk so a subscription model is required. However, the only way I can see to do this simply in the meantime is to offer a free subscription until the right is running. Once the server is in place we would resubmit the application with a paid model subs for new subscribers as well as the right for their members.

  My questions on this are:

  This sounds like a reasonable intermediate step? Is there a better suggestion to meet these needs?

  What happen for free subscriptions once the pay model is in place? Users who have subscribed for free they still join folios that were available when signing up? Or they will be now required to resubscribe (for a price) or through the law.

  You must be careful to pass an application of free subscription to a paid app subscription. When users sign up for a subscription free app, they have access to all of THE content published in this app up something like 2036. Apple launches a free subscription to the time background downloads worked only in kiosk applications to newspapers and free subscriptions were the only way to get an app with free content on newsstands.   You can update your application to change from a free subscription to the retail. When you submit your in-app purchase, Apple invites you to submit a new version of the app at the same time.

  Note that anyone who signed up for your free subscription will continue to get all of the free content, including the content of retail sales. Free membership lasts for always (or something like 35 years, which is never actually in the years of the app). The right to the subscription does not change when you update your app. You might want to consider creating a new application and pointing to it from the existing application.

  As Bob mentioned above, you must copy the KWEBMag product id and paste it into the generator of DPS App under subscriptions, enter the subscription details and then rebuild the app, download the new version of the DPS App generator and test it again.   I have a monthly magazine in review with Apple that will appear in the booth newspapers, but fixing a small bug, I realized that my subscription strategy should be revised.

  The goal is to have a monthly magazine that is free to all users for the first year, while the reader/number of subscribers is built and then offer a subscription from year 2.

  Originally, I've set up a free subscription, assuming that I could convert paid at a later date. Once he is paying with a number of options (as well as single issue purchase) subscription mode, the magazine would also offer occasional free supplements as well as paid content.   1 no, don't create a free-subscription app and then change to a retail subscription app Apple has offered a free subscription as a way for the non-detaillants apps for newsstand. Convert a subscription free app to retail is a mess that update you or download a different application.
