RIO (PCIe-7841R) right DAQ device?

It seems that this has essentially been asked and we answered but it is a slight variation: is it possible to use a PCIe-7841R with NOR-DAQmx only for analog input and output? Or this device will never be never be seen by NOR-DAQmx (as I suspect).

I have a C + c++ / NOR-DAQmx request and I needed to 8 inputs and 8 outputs. I stupidly used the parametric search, taken "at least 8" for each and selected the first thing that shows. It seems that it was a serious mistake, but I wanted to confirm before I send this back and use a chassis solution. Thanks in advance for any info!

No, this card does not work with DAQmx.  It requires a LabVIEW FPGA to be deployed so that it be of any use.  Even in this case, the C++ interface is weird (from what I've seen).

I strongly recommend giving your representative local nor a call and explain the situation.  They probably will be a good replacement and try swap for you.

  • Different value of USB DAQ device on different computers?

    Hello

I have not found an answer to this one, so I open a new question. Here's the problem:

I have a card OR USB 6003 and I read some analog signal of a sensor with a framerate of 1000 Hz (I use actually 4 analog inputs for 4 sensors). I created a VI and everything works fine on my computer. Then, I created a standalone application (.exe) and the installer that includes the drivers for the hardware DAQ and LabView Runtime Environment. When I install everything on computer target, the program works, but the sensor readings are weird! For example: I get a reading of 1 bar with a deviation of 0.02 bar on my original computer. When I plug the device on the host computer, I get an average reading of 1 bar with a gap of 0.5 bar, which is a lot! This gap could be considered some disturbances high frequency - like noise. What could be the problem? Is this even linked with LabView or is it hardware problem?

    OS information:

    Win 7, 64-bit (my computer)

    Win 7 32-bit (host)

    News of LabView:

    LabVIew 2013, version 13.0f2 (32 bit)

    OR MAX version 14.0.0f0

    Setup includes:

NI LabView Run - Time Engine 2013 f2

    NOR-DAQmx run 14.0

Thanks in advance on this one!

If you run the Test NI MAX Panel on each computer, you get the same result? Way that you specify which device to use in your code (for example MAX tasks? Project tasks? DAQmx configuration screw?) and the devices have the same configuration? Are you using the exact same device USB 6003 or use a different one on each PC?

A computer is a desktop computer and another laptop? Economic DAQ devices are not isolated, so you could get the sound of your PC power.

  • I want to choose the right USB DAQ device for my application

Let me share the .exe file, that I use for my application, i.e. the thermostat for QCD. It is available at the following URL:

    http://www.teamwavelength.com/support/software.php?page=datasheets&view=temperaturecontrollers

Temperature controller I use is PTC 10 K - CH got the NI USB 6351 data acquisition card. I tried the interface between the PC and PTC 10 K - CH, but could not get the desired results. (no monitoring/precise temperature control for the conduct of the LASER Source). It's a .exe file, I couldn't find how code works as well. So even if the program runs without error, I can't understand why it does not show the proper temperature values. Manual for the same Temp.Controller is available on the website of electronic wavelength.

I would like to know if NI USB 6351 is suitable for the PTC 10 K - CH? If so, what are the common mistakes, I need to make the same thing with LabVIEW interfacing while (because I'm a beginner)? Any help is appreciated.

    Hi DEV_DS,

It seems that you have just 2 channels of, 1 AO channel, and 1 line.  Glancing at the datasheet, I see no reason that the USB-6351 should not work with the PTC10K-CH.

Can you share with us a screenshot of the configuration tab data acquisition channels, a screenshot of your list of devices and Interfaces developed NI MAX, and a description of the physical wiring connections you have made in the material?

  • USB6363 DAQmx (reading and writing) calendar seems slower than other similar USB DAQ devices

    Hey people,

I have currently a service waiting number with OR the subject, but I thought I'd post up incase anyone has ever dealt with a similar question pertaining to USB DAQ hardware.

Try to understand why there is a difference of synchronization between the 6363 USB and some of the other less expensive USB devices like the 6525 or 6501.

It's a watered the actual code that my team has noticed this difference in the simplified version.  The actual code is a reading analog daqmx (it's triggered hw, so we begin the task of analog playback, trigger, wait the time we acquire to and then run reading daqmx. who takes 6 ms to read a single 50 values of the buffer).

    Thank you

    -Pat

    Hi Pat,

Try benchmarking of HAVE it read that way (with the wait timed by the software, it seems to me that the task is probably not yet made to the time you want to read - I guess that the question is relative between the event of the task performed and all the data is available in the DAQmx buffer, I don't have a series of X USB to see) :

Try benchmarking your writing clocked by the software in this way (there no reason to include the check/reserve/validation/start sequence in your writing of reference when the task can easily be launched during initialization of your program):

On my PCIe X Series as the two cases take< 1="">

I have a property system for daqmx node but it won't let me change it to read when I right click on it. I try to have my program detect the name of data acquisition which is plugged into the PC and then send to the daq assistant so that it runs properly wiithout having me manually change the name of the device every time I change hardware.

You do the programming.  What is LabVIEW.  MAX gives you all the tools to do what you want and much more just to do what you want to program.

Joined a VI that does what you want.  I look at all your devices and returns the first not simulated.  Apparently this list already excludes devices not connected to the system.

  • Synchronization of different DAQ devices

    Hello dear members,

I want to order the spindle motor. He needs three analog time delay signal to the reader. With the LabView program, I generated the three delay time of signals. But I have the hardware DAQ who have only two analogue output pins. So, I decided to use two data acquisition devices so that can get three analog output ports. I'm a little worried about the synchronization between the two Renault. I will be happy if someone can help me to let the different Renault synchronization procedure.

    Thank you in advance.

    Azim

    Hello azeem,

There are different ways to sync a/o on the DAQ hardware. However, it depends on what devices you use. Could you tell me what DAQ hardware you use? LabVIEW coding is not very difficult, but how you connect the hardware will be different. For example if you use two pci cards you can connect them via a RTSI cable; Use them as master and refer to the clock out of the master.

  • Simple controller PCI of Communications - Unknow device

A trip to the PCI database shows that my device is unknown.

    Vendor ID 1093 (NOR)

    Device ID (70E3)

Can someone help me with what this device is please?

    Hi Alec,.

I have looked into this for you and I can confirm that this device ID refers to a PXI-8431.

  • daq device boot nor is not ready

I worked with a PXI system for a long time that had a LabVIEW program in the startup folder, while running at startup.  The program used the Daq hardware to OR, and we found that he had to add a delay to the boot sequence to allow the material NOR be fully initialized before it started the program LabVIEW or the program would throw errors.

    A similar thread is at

    http://forums.NI.com/NI/board/message?board.ID=232&message.ID=6373&query.ID=1481785#M6373

My current problem is with a LV 8.6.1 program on Windows XP.  I use a DAQ USB6212 material.  I find that I have to allow a full 60 seconds after startup before launching the program to ensure that the work of data acquisition.  If I use a 40 second delay, it works most of the time, but not always.

I would have guessed it would be a fairly common problem.  Does anyone found a reasonable solution to this problem?  As noted in the link above, I prefer not to use arbitrary expectations.  I'd rather have a way for the operating system to start my program after that everything is ready.  But reasonable alternative will be something like the user in the other thread developed in C++: a loop that tries to access the material and keep looping until the material becomes available.  I do not think that a single Daq set call channels will work, however, because once the error occurs (in my case), restart my program is of no use.  I have to unplug the DAQ hardware and plug it in again, or restart the computer so that I can make it work.  So I need some sound more sweet, such as the type of "find resources" appeal, he has proposed.

    Kind regards

    Hi Dave,.

Just a quick suggestion. I have not tested, but you might be able to do something like that at the beginning of your code:

This loop until there is no error since the VI DAQmx device Self and then you can spend the rest of your code. Yet once again, I have not tested this in an executable to start, but I think it should work. Let me know if it helps. Thank you!

  • What NI DAQ device or system can receive signals nanovolts?

We have an analog sensor here that its production gives us nanovolts control signal. I was wondering is there any device NI DAQ, you could introduce me so that I can take these steps for the Labview? (signal to noise ratio is low) It would be great if you also offer me an Osciloscope code or software in Labview that get the signal of the DAQ hardware and I can play with, or record the signal as a real Osclloscope because I couldn't find a good in the examples. If this question is not linked here please provide a link for me to remove this item and it ask for more in the forume somewehere. Thank you

nV is not much so some requirements more are needed:

    need resolution?

    need for precision?

    bandwidth of the signal?

the source impedance (or current bias data acquisition acceptable entry?)

Value of Absolut or changes in the amplitude?  (important for the specification of the drift)

I would go with a preamplifier or ask Keithley NI sorry

A good source of information to measure really tiny values is the "low level measurements Handbook" of keithley...

Sorry, no link to it... These % $§ ' engine % of research do not provide direct plus links

  • How do DAQmx tasks work on several DAQ devices

I created tasks of temperature on cDAQ1 on my development PC.  I moved this DAQ system to the laboratory as well as an executable file.  I connected cDAQ2 to my development PC and none of the tasks that I created will work on this system since all channels of reference on cDAQ1.  Also the executable will not work with cDAQ2 also.  Note that cDAQ1 and cDAQ2 have the same hardware configuration.

How to create these tasks so that they will work with system or additional identical systems in the future?

Ok.  I see the problem.  It's because your devices have different names.  You told your tasks to make reference to a hardware device that has a specific name: "cDAQ1."  This is why your program will always search for a hardware device with this name.  Here are your options:

    1. replace the name of the device "cDAQ2" "cDAQ1" on your target computer.  You will need to do this for each computer target on which you load your executable file.

    or...

    2. After installing your DAQ card and your program to your target computer, go to your tasks in MAX and re - direct to appropriate material (cDAQ2) by selecting "Change the physical channels" for each task and designating the appropriate on cDAQ2 channels.

Alternatively, you can use the vi to "Create jobs" instead and add a control that allows the user to select the channels of material on which runs your acquisition.
