Risk of confusion on 11 GR 2 unzip directories

Downloading Linux 11 GR 2 comes in 2 ZIP files.

We have some problems with people explicitly have decompressed the files in separate directories. As a 'Directions' note on the download at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/112010_linuxsoft.html page, perhaps a simple clarification of the decompression procedure - "unzip the files to the same directory" - could avoid confusion of users.

Thank you Hans, page is updated.

  • Confusion of subnets

Hello, everyone. I'm a little confused on subnetting. I learned to the subnet following Todd Lammle book, but now that I read Chris Bryant mathematics binary Mastering and Subnetting and looks like he has a different approach to the number of subnets. Lammle I learned that the formula is like this: 2 on N is the number of subnets, and 2 on N - 2 is the number of hosts valid (we subtract 2 because of the network and broadcast address). But Bryant teaches us that we must subtract 2 for number of subnets also.

    Here is the example:

How many valid subnets is in 222.10.8.0/28?

After the result of the Todd Lammle guide should be 16 subnets (with 14 guests). By Bryant method result is 16-2 subnets, so it's 14 subnets, not 16.

    A more:

How many valid subnets is in 210.17.90.0/29?

After the result of the Todd Lammle guide should be 32 subnets (with 6 guests). By method of Bryant, result is 32-2 subnets, so that's 30 subnets, not 32.

Now, I'm a little confused. If anyone can explain this, I would be very grateful.

    Filip,

Outside the response of Vasanth, the practice of the subtraction of 2 of the number of available subnets comes age classes, addressing, routing and routing protocols.

Consider the network 192.168.1.0/24 into four subnets total model:

    192.168.1.0/26
    192.168.1.64/26
    192.168.1.128/26
    192.168.1.192/26

In classful routing protocols, networks were announced without their masks of network - network masks have guessed rather than announced. Now, obviously, there's a problem: If the network 192.168.1.0 is announced, what subnet mask should be used - the subnet of class 24 or 26? There was a risk of misunderstanding this address, and so it was decided to simply do not use the first whole subnet (also called subnet zeros).

In addition, suppose that a router receives a packet destined to 192.168.1.255, a broadcast address. Now, here's another uncertainty: this package is only for the hosts in the last 192.168.1.192/26 subnet, or it is intended for all hosts on the network 192.168.1.0/24 original and so in each of its subnets? Again, it is not clear, and so it was decided that for this reason, the last subnet will be also left unused (also called all-ones subnet).

This is why the number of available subnets has been initially decrements by two: the first and the last subnet were not used to avoid possible confusion (the first subnet vs address address of the original network; the subnet broadcast address last vs the original network broadcast address).

These days, who cares. We moved away from classes, addressing, routing and routing protocols. Our current routing properly protocols and networks netmasks advertising so it there is no risk of confusion, and remotely through a broadcast of a remote network address is considered a bad practice and is blocked by routers in any case.

That is why, today, we gladly use all possible subnets of a given network. The 2 ^ n - 2 formula for the number of available subnets is no longer valid (in fact, it was not valid for a number of years; classless routing came around 1993).

    Best regards

  • WinDVD for Toshiba - no function screen Cap?

    Hello

I just bought myself a Toshiba A200 15I (I think it's the name of the model, or something c. similar in any case) and I'm just starting to get comfortable with it.

One thing I noticed it's a disappointment is that the version of WinDVD, I had with this laptop is different to the one I'm used to, I've got WinDVD 4.0 on my old laptop and one that came with my new laptop is a specific version of Hitachi (InterVideo WinDVD "Toshiba").

One thing that I really like WinDVD on my old laptop is now that he allows me to take screenshots of the video/DVD files I play on it but I can't find any mention of a feature of Cape screen on this version of Hitachi of it. After a while, I found the help section and searched for screenshot, but nothing helped, so im guessing he is not there (?)

If Yes, I checked and managed to find the CD for my old laptop that contains WinDVD 4.0 but I'm not sure if it would be safe to uninstall the current version of Hitachi and try installing that, as the CD of WinDVD 4.0 is specially for my old laptop Fujitsu Siemens (it is one of the CD that came with the laptop and FSC (Fujitsu Siemens Computers) wrote next to the version number) as it is a few years ive no idea if it would be at all compatible with Vista and my new laptop obv. a Vista (Home Premium). I don't know if it would be a good idea to have installed either both, we could confuse the system with two WinDVDs installed on a computer (?).

Am I right in thinking the Hitachi program WinDVD don't let me do / select screenshots? If Yes, what is the best thing to do, so I have a program that will allow me to quickly and easily get caps of video files and DVD... is there a known Vista friendly program that would allow me to do this as an alternative? or WinDVD 4.0 works well and it would be safe for me to maybe try to install that... I don't want to risk of confusion between the system and/or uninstall Vista friendly program to finish with another who does not really I think. I checked to see if the MovieMaker version that comes with Vista, would allow me to do it, but it doesn't seem to have an option of course screen too, even if I don't check this program in pretty good detail so I could be wrong, but when the old icon of camera used to be, I did not see it... has this option been removed these programs due to legal issues or something perhaps? I never heard of something like this...

Any help is much appreciated; Thank you!

Edit:-I just noticed it says "InterVideo WinDVD for Toshiba 8.0" If that helps...

Why Don t you use another program to make the screenshots like VLC or media player classic? I mean, WinDVD is ok, but why not use more professional and perhaps more opensource and not programs of some manufacturer changed without feature for users who need a?

I suggest you look at VLC since it s a good tool and very useful. Maybe you can find more applications in that direction.

  • HP 15-AC106NQ: lan

    HelloW

I just got a computer hp laptop 15 ac106nq of budget, on which I am unable to install LAN driver, I tried for the last 3 days only try to solve this problem, if I understand well using aida64, this laptop comes with a Realtek RTL8139/810 x Fast Ethernet Adapter. I tried and managed to download ditectly since the manufacturer, I mention that windows is a new facility, even tried to install the driver using HP assistant, totally waste of time. I'm getting desperate, being that the laptop since 2 days I unboxed it. I made a bootable Linux USB, ubuntu, to be more exact and the internet works fine, using the cable, so no risk of confusion is done.

    What shoul I do next.

OK, you don't need the ethernet controller driver.

On windows 7, you should be able to use the drivers and software from the 15 t-ac000, except the BIOS and the firmware for all drivers not listed files do not on the support page for your laptop.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-15-ac000-notebook-PC-series/7771404/model/8381866

It would be the ethernet driver that you are interested in...

This package contains the Realtek driver local area network (LAN) that allows the NIC (NIC) Realtek chip in the notebook models that are running an operating system supported.

  • Windows keeps asking me to reactivate what I did several times this week, how can I stop this from happening

Apart from contacting the technical support team, is there something I can do to stop this problem of reactivation to reappear every week or two, it starts getting a little tired, I re-enabled now my copy of windows xp on three different occasions in recent weeks, I think that it all started going wrong when I changed the dvd player , for writing/dvd player and it just read, so I changed to the original and responsive drive my copy of XP, everything went well for about a week, then the activation window started.

I can't really develop more on what is there without it run the risk of confusing you.

Where exactly are you having problems?

When you click the copy button that the report is copied to your Clipboard (hidden) - folder you won't see anything happen except maybe the copy button flashes once.

Then return to your answer here and in the answer box, made a right click, it should bring a list of options - click on paste.

That's all there is to it.

The bit of "in your own thread" is to try to ensure that only the original poster responds with a report in this thread (question)

Information provided to the sticker, this is exactly what we needed - all we need now is a copy of the report, preferably run when the non-genuine notification shows, as otherwise, it is unlikely to show us something useful.

  • Copy hard drive XP on a Vista hard drive

    Hello

I had recently an old computer go on me which contained important information on the hard drive.  Motherboard of the computer lights.  So I tried just to connect the hard drive on my other computer that has the Windows Vista operating system, it would not come.  I was wondering if there is a way to copy the files on the hard drive in Windows Vista.

Currently, our broken computer is at Best Buy and they want $1,500 to retrieve the information.

    Ok.

I don't know what you mean by setting the jumper on the discs correctly to master and slave.  After plugging the older hard drive of the computer in the new computer, it tried to start the computer in

First of all, please note that the term 'memory' is used to designate the
place where the computer contains the program and data with which it is working
for the time being. It's normally a memory (RAM), but who can
be extended with the page or swap hard disk file. The word
'memory' is never used to refer to the space on a drive (be it
It's a hard drive, floppy disk, CD, DVD or thumb drive). Space on a
hard drive is normally called "storage" or simply "disk space".

Call for 'memory' disk space is not so much wrong as we have just
unconventional. In a sense, the disk space is, of course, memory, but the
important thing to realize is that the word is never used in this way.
and if you do, you do so at the risk of confusion seriously your

So I guess that you may have about disk space, not memory. Do not
remove the previous updates, since doing so put you back in the
situation before the updates, with all the problems and risks to the security
    only updates corrected.

Also note that the amount of disk space, you may save is relatively
small. And if you are short on disk space, there are various things
You can do this will save disk space.  But the amount of disk
space will be only a few cents worth. If this amount is
It would be important to you, not more than one
Palliative and the only real solution to your problem is to buy
    a larger drive.

  • Work with Documents in libraries

In Windows 7, working with libraries in Windows Explorer and open a document in a folder, edit and save this document, why not this file back to the folder from which it was opened?  Files are beind found rather in C:\Users\ with different extensions, including public Documents which, for some reason, has disappeared from my computer.  I can put all my documents from the files searched in their original place so that I can save these new documents on a USB?  Suggestions appreciated.

    [Moved from comments]

Your files are actually in C:\Users\yourusername...

The libraries contain only sets of shortcuts to files in these folders.  Libraries are nothing else than these collections of shortcuts even if they seem to be the files themselves.

    - - - - - - - - -

Many people avoid the risk of confusion and mistakes by going to C:\Users\yourusername so that individual folders in the right pane of the Explorer and then right-clicking on their record of \Documents C:\Users\yourusername, select create a shortcut , and then put that shortcut on the desktop.  If you then use this shortcut to start Windows Explorer, then you will be able to get directly to these files in the future.

You can also drag the folder Documents & drop on the badly-named Favorites entry * in the upper left corner of your window of the Explorer.  Allows easier access to these folders.

    * This has nothing to do with IE Favorites and is the successor to Windows XP is underutilized facilities MyPlaces.

It should be called really links to avoid confusion, and if you look in the C:\Users\yourusername\Links folder then you will see a list of all files that you have in this favorite entry.

  • What program to bring in and how multi-catalogue? LR, Photoshop Elements, first Elements

I use Lightroom 6 purchased programs, 12 items, Photoshop and Premiere of 12 elements.  I'm shooting jpeg + RAW (Sony) and 4K 1080 video.  I sometimes even combine images and videos for editing in first to create video slideshows with video clips.  Sometimes I just use LR to adjust still photos for Web or print.  Or can I use LR or elements to edit the stills of preparation for first video import.

The question I have is which is the best way to import and catalog so the files are put at my disposal without risk of confusion as to where they are little matter which of the three editing programs I use?  Thank you.

I think you want to use a single catalog for all of your photos and videos. Put things into several catalogues simply makes it more difficult to find.

If you choose Lightroom as the only one catalog, you can edit photos and videos in Lightroom and send your photos to PSE for other changes (use the command "Edit In... "), and you can send your videos to the first for mounting (same things, use"Edit In... »)

If you use PES or first or both depending on your catalog, this makes pretty well useless, there is no easy way for photos in a catalog PSE or videos in the catalogue of the first to be sent to Lightroom for editing in Lightroom.

In more recent versions of EPMA generic dimensions can be ordered.    You must examine each custom dimensions 'System' and the Consolidation of the properties in the property grid, and you'll find a property something like "Custom dimension ID".   This will be the order they will be pushed in the application of HFM.    Probably your 2nd application has the dimensions in a different order in HFM as the 1st application.

To fix (if you need the size ordered the same for both applications) you will probably need rebuild the 2nd application with the dimensions in the correct order.   If you created the application by dragging and dropping the dimensions of a shared library in a "demand" in Dimension Editor, then it is very important in what order you dragged the dimensions custom throughout the application.   If you generated by using the application wizard, then again, look in what order the custom dimensions have been added.

In our DB Oracle 11 GR 1 material, we are facing a problem of use high temporary tablespace...

I tried the sub queries that will tell which session uses the amount of temporary space. But normally the same query will run and 97 GB of temp tablespace is sufficient to run the query.

But why last 2 days using 190 GB of temp tablespace.

Can find us why all of a sudden begins to use the temp tablespace more.

There is no change in the query.

Excessive temp space is more often associated with inaccurate estimates (too weak) to sort and hash operations.

Solve the excessive use temp space is usually a two-step process:

    1. find SQL with excessive temperature, get the metric of effective implementation of the enforcement problem, look for estimates inaccurate when comparing estimates cardinalities real vs.

    2. once the estimates are correct, if the temp space usage is always high then consider sizing of manual activities.

Although the use of temporary space has increased sharply, then either you had a sudden increase in the data or you have had a change suddenly in the execution plan.

Use the AWR and ASH to study, subject to the license.

If it is a change suddenly in the execution plan, then you have the easy option to use a plan sql database or a sql profile to lock in an older implementation plan with a lower use of temporary space.

  • Change of values and change when you save a picture BW

Hello community and first of all Merry Christmas to whom it may apply

I am trying to solve this problem by doing my own research, but I work against the clock and I found no specific useful information so far.

I'm sure he can have to do with the profile settings, but frankly, I'm a little lost.

    Here it goes:

    • I have these black and white photos I shot, which I first edited in Lightroom, (RAW images. CR2) and then decide to take them to Photoshop for some finishing touches so I use "Edit in...» Function of Photoshop"in Lightroom.

    • At the opening in Ps, I get the usual profile of the conversion options (my Lr settings are ProPhotoRGB) so I decide to convert the photo of my Ps work space: Adobe RGB (1998).

    • So far so good, on the surface, like comparing my pic between Lr and PS, virtually identical.

    • I have to put it back end in Mode files: grayscale /. Hair, so when trying to save with (and frankly, any other) extension, the problems start: final result varies quite considerably in values and working space Ps rendering tones (and of course, the 'original' Lr edited pic)

I tried a lot of combinations (and the box of grain dot checked and unchecked in the file save dialog box) color profiles and settings, but I'm going crazy here...

Any suspicion or any brief reference where I can learn at this address will be more than welcome. Time is NOT on my side (talk about season Hollidays ha!)

Many thanks and best wishes to all!

    A simplified workflow:

Adjust the RAW image and save as TIFF 16bitperchannel (PCBs) in AdobeRGB.

    Modify as necessary in Photoshop.

Convert to TIFF 8bpc and save as a TIFF.

Convert grayscale with GrayGamma = 2.2 and save as a TIFF.

Most likely the error is the result of the settings of tones "confused."

In fact the tones is based on a (TRC) tone reproduction curve.

GrayGamma = 2.2 uses the same TRC as AdobeRGB.

Therefore work in Photoshop, with always embedded in profiles,

all the parameters are properly taken into account. But other programs are subject to errors

even if gray profiles are incorporated.

In short: the workflow suggested reduced the risk of confusion.

For a week or two, I've experimented with that, and various utilities gave me different results. I think that "Willy" had been grafted onto a shortcut, the pointer or the synonym for 'User '. At one point, Windows Explorer has changed the user to 'Willy' folder, but still I get harassed me to raise my status for the various system calls, unless I used the option to right click "run as Administrator" (I don't know when this option became available in the context menu), to load the Application or 'Take Ownership' option (ditto) , which was confusing and ' it was hard to understand what he did. Then, I created an administrator named 'Administrator' account (perhaps a mistake) and changed "Willy" (or 'User'?) to a standard account. I'm still confused. I have now two directories in the directory C:\User, 'Administrator' and 'Willy '. But I'm now slowed by the login screen. If I choose "Willy", then Manager of tasks/Users told me that 'User' is connected, the shell command line sets the directory as... \Users\User and the back order 'whoami' tells me that I am 'user '.

If anyone can clarify these issues, then I'll be very grateful: -.

    1. How can I synchronize my folder with my user name names?

    2. How can I make my user account (regardless of his name) have the permissions of the owner of the computer?

    3. I just have a user account, which can be high if necessary?

    4. where can I get detailed information about what happens when we renames, deletes, or creates a new folder?

    5. can I get digital trouble for appropriating files I transferred from my old computer?

    6. the built-in Administrator account can be used for limited, system calls instead of create an administrator account called "Administrator"? I'd rather just Butler of my own private PC and can't see the login screen. I know the deletion of an account will solve this problem, but which, 'Administrator' - the account admin, or "User" (aka "Willy"), the standard account?

    1. Name of the folder to synchronize with the user name.
You cannot change the name of the user folder after it is created, because everything depends on it.  If you want it to function, create a new account user profile on the computer using the name you want the file to be.  Then, delete the one with the name that you don't like.
    2. Set the user account must have the permissions as owner
Set the 'administrator' account type and he will have full control over your computer.
    3. Can I have a single user account and raise necessary?
You can have a standard account you can raise when you need to.  But you still need to have an administrator account to use (or otherwise you will never be able to raise or even change the settings again... bad news!)
    4. What happens when we rename, remove, or create a new folder?
There is nothing happening, the step you take is applied immediately on hard drive.
    5. Problems with the previous computer file transfer?

No, that's your prerogative. You can do what you want, as long as it's not against your terms of use agreement.  If you can not decompile the source code of the operating system for example, is against your license to use Windows.
  • The built-in Administrator account can be used for system calls restricted, rather than create an account administrator called "Administrator"?
The built-in Administrator account is already called "Administrator", by default, unless you changed it.

If you don't want to see the login screen, just use an automatic connection.  I have a video that explains how and it works on all versions of Windows:

Automatically to connect on Windows [Video]
