  • Qosmio F10 - noisy fan & replacement

My Qosmio F10 comes up to 3 years & cooling fan now sounds a bit like an angle with a grinder knocked on the landing when it starts. Now this laptop has had 3 years of intensive use & abuse, sometimes running 24-7 weeks & despite all my friends to go through the changes of motherboards (& for them 3 times) I've only had to change the battery & hard drive.

He always does everything I want it so I'm reluctant to immediately obtain a new & spend a lot of money that I don't have, if someone can tell me if its possible to change the fan myself, or at least clean up (I did several times without any problems on my Toshiba laptop not old to 6 years old several times since I found the instructions on how to disassemble it).

    Any help would be appreciated
    Thank you
    John

Well, what to say I put t recommend disassemble the laptop because it may be damaged another aircraft or parts. This disassembly must be performed by a technician for laptop.
But the fact is that the laptop everything must be removed if you want to replace the cooling module.

Here on this website you can find an instruction how to open the cover of laptop Toshiba Qosmio F15. The F15 is very similar to the F10.

But I think that a cleaning procedure simply would work too

  • How to connect a plasma panel digitally to Qosmio F10-130

    Hello

I just orderer F10-130 and I would like to connect my Panel plasma with a digital video signal. The monitor has a DVI input and the F10 has a'D-video out' so-called interface I've ever seen elsewhere. What is the best way to connect the two devices? I know D - Sub or S-video VGA should work, but IMHO, it is not state of the art. A D-Video/DVI adapter exist?

    Kind regards

    Hi marsu

Connection D Qosmio port, you can connect to the TV SCART port. The cable is supplied with the laptop Qosmio. Sorry, but I think that there is no ability to connect to the DVI port on your TV.

The only thing you can do is ask some experts in electronic stores if there is a solution for this problem.

  • Qosmio F10-130 - no display more

our Qosimo F10 - 130 Notebbook suddenly only shows a black screen. But the drive activity LED it seams it starts. External display is too dark.
Only DVD/CD function without windows restarts always works correctly and displays for example DVD on screen.
Any idea? Default graphics card? But why the reader of CD/DVD Standanlone does work?

    Thanks for any help.

You see anything when you start your Qosmio?

If I understand you well you can watch movies using Qosmioplayer. Am I right about that?

  • Qosmio F10-130 PQF10E will not start up - hangs in the loop

I have a Toshiba Qosmio PQF10E-02300JGR, I had again for a few years now.

The other day when I was working on this subject, he himself rebooted & then would not come back to the top (just got a blank screen & then it restarts itself on & many times)

I have a couple of older versions of Windows XP on the hard drive, I thought maybe it was a Windows Update has screwed something, but none of these older versions not work either. It just gives a black screen & then after a few moments, automatically restarts. I managed to start in safe mode to disable the auto restart (Control Panel, system, advanced, startup & recovery options, restart automatically), it gave me a BSOD with a "STOP: 0x000000EA on nv4_disp device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. I realize it's the NVidia graphics driver.

While in safe mode to copy several files to USB stick, that I had not saved, the screen itself distorted when I moved the mouse, the fan (on, I assume that the mobo) started making funny noises & then hung the whole machine.

I guess I need the graphics card & phone replaced, but is it useful? How much usually cost to replace this & works the 'upgrade '. I live in the United Kingdom

Should I buy a replacement laptop instead?

    Thank you.

    Hi mate

I think you're right. It seems that s laptop graphics card is malfunctioning.
To my knowledge, it is not possible to replace only the GPU, it seems that the ASP would replace the whole motherboard, and this can really be a costly affair.
The mobo is a laptop computer cheap party! I think that you will need to spend about 300-350 Euros I n don't know if it s worth s you own decision

But in my opinion, you should check first if you can buy a second hand card that could be cheaper
Maybe you will find a second hand F10 with a good mobo

  • My Qosmio F10 key

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Qosmio F10 and 2 fumbles is broken. I want to know how much the repairs would cost. I found on ebay a grope 'Toshiba EN 6100 or 6000 '.
They are the same and those that meet the Qosmio laptop.

    Thank you

    [Edited by: admin August 28 05 07:59]

    Hello

In my experience, almost all of the keys are the same size. So I think that the 6000 keys must fit into a Qosmio keyboard. And key replacement is very easy, you can do it by yourself. Just remove those broken and push down new keys.

    Good bye

  • Fan noise after changing graphics - Qosmio F10-101

  • Noisy fan - fan starts 15 minutes after turning on the Qosmio F10

My Qosmio F10 has always had a very noisy fan. The fan noise starts always 15 minutes after turning the PC on and stays of less regardless of what I do on the PC - even if this happens be nothing else!

I tried to change the battary cooling method optimized in the toshiba saving settings in an attempt to stop the fan coming on but any change of setting seems to have no effect on the fan. I did a search on these forums and found a link to the utility fan - but the link now appears to be dead and someone somewhere else also suggested update but tv pilots who did not work or the other. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this laptop less noisy?

It's all a bit frustrating saw I bought it to listen to music - and all you hear is the fan when the music calms down!

    Thanks in advance

Believe me that it is not unusual that the F10 is a laptop with a high GPU and CPU. These regions produce a lot of heat and it must be cooled!

Please don t compare mobile portable fans with the Qosmio. The Qosmio laptop properties resemble a PC and in my view a desktop PC is much stronger than the F10

  • Qosmio F10 - broken graphics card

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10, but unfortunately the graphics card is broken on it, if anyone knows if it can be repaired without having a new card mother 'expensive '!

My warranty has expired at the beginning of this year so I'm worried about how much it will cost, all my personal files and data are always on it, so is it still possible to take down them with her still divided?

I have power get sill on the machine, but nothing lights up the screen and the fan is constantly at full power.

    Hi Paul

This is a very silly situation, I assume that you will not be able to repair the laptop without a motherboard replacement.
Set the id of the graphics card on the mobo and it s not possible to easily remove it from the motherboard.

If you want to save your data and files of ads please remove the laptop HARD drive and connect it to another computer via the external USB HDD controller.
These external HDD 2.5 case are not expensive and you can buy it in every store of the computer.

  • Qosmio F10 Fan - where can I order one?

    Hello

Anyone know how I could find the part number of the fan without microprocessor (I don't know if it's a GPU fan or what, is one of the more toward the Center on the laptop) for the Qosmio F10?

I found the part number of the fan CPU (P000388590), but it is a different size. Also is there anywhere in the United Kingdom, I might be able to buy the new fan without having to send my laptop? I can only find sites in the United States that sell the fan from the CPU to the end user, so the same could be true of this fan.

You have a command parts compatible Toshiba service partner in your country.
I guess that it s also able to control the compatible fan.
The link to the page with the ASP database gave a lot of time here in the forum

  • Qosmio G20: Fan makes an awkward noise when he turns around

    Hey everybody,
Another problem, but not Vista! Although it is always a problem!

My exhaust fan makes a clunky noise when it runs. I hear it's going along and round like a noise of rachetty and then at other times its fine.

Someone at - he had this?
Should I open and give it a clean?

    Hello

It's not easy to tell if the fan is malfunctioning or not.
Qosmio G20 is a laptop very powerful and cooling modules are larger and stronger as modules on any of cooling for powerful laptop.
If you use the solid performance applications such as games or videos of the cooling modules will work with maximum performance and are stronger.

But of course; the cooling module could malfunction. In this case, it must be replaced.

  • Re: Qosmio F10 - impossible to reinstall the sound card driver

    Hello

Recently, I uninstalled a program and my sound card driver has been uninstalled with it

I'm running the Qosmio F10 with Windows XP.

I have the file to reinstall the diver in the Toshiba page but when I try to install I get the error "driver is not found.

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance

The European Toshiba driver page provides audio driver for XP and at this time, it s a 5.12.0.1.5160 version of Analog Devices Inc.

You must download, unpack and then run the installation exe.

If it doesn't work then remove the sound card in Device Manager, reboot the laptop and check again.

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10 which was purchased in me for repair.
He underwent the faliure GPU from nVidia to the common address but meets in perfect condition and certainatly too good to discard.
I managed to get your hands on a part of the Service of OEM new motherboard to fit, but I don't want to just put in there and then the case of fault on the road.

What I'd like to know if there is anything I can do or even to change the laptop to help avoid this problem.

This is not my laptop and I don't really want to start cut about to help with cooling unless it will really make a difference if someone actually found a way to stop it or at least make him last a good few years?

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I know the owner is very fond of his laptop and wants to keep.

    Thank you very much
    Ben

Maybe it sounds silly now, but I put t know what kind of trick you want to get here. If you have good working mainboard, compiled the Qosmio and test how it works.
