RMAN-05520: name of database incompatibilities, auxiliary instance a SANDBOX, command specified SANDBOX

Hello

I get error rman-05520 while trying to replicate the database by using the active database method.  You want to clone the dev to sandbox without catalog database using the current database.  Target and auxiliary databases are connected, kept auxiliary in nomount pfile, then use command below, but get error below.  Can anyone help on this.

Thank you

    We can complete the recovery of the space within the same instance, why it is impossible for the tspitr of?

    A TSIPTR is an incomplete recovery. Oracle does not allow you to run a database as to, say, stop and start, the data files are in different SNA. All data files must correspond to the same point in time. (TSPITR makes a compatible database - the auxiliary instance - and then uses the Transportable Tablespace for copying the tablespace and plug it into the original database. At this point, the Checkpoint SCN of data files to reset the tablespace GET transported to be consistent with the rest of the database).

    Here Re: Question on recovery of Hemant K Chitale said: "You can not retrieve a tablespace to an SCN that is lower than the rest of the database.". Can someone help me uderstand why?

    See my response above. A database cannot have data files that are from different points in time (SNA). The exception is when portable tablespaced is used - in this case the SNA control point transported data files are reset to be consistent with the database.

    In this message Re: scn of the data after the restore file shows that when we move tablespace offline, its YVERT becomes less than the other tablespaces SNA after awhile and when we turn online "will not apply redo it will adopt just current SNA.

    It's a tablespace which belongs to the database. Activity against the tablespace is interrupted once done the offline. The database knows that the data files are frozen and have no change. Therefore, it is easy for the database reset the SNA control point when the LINE is made.

  • RMAN backup on the database with data file with corrupted block

    Hi friends,

    I have a problem with a database of oracle 11g XE on windows server 2003, the database is in production, it is open, is operating normally.

    The database has no backup configured before, so I put the database archiving mode and tried to backup using rman utility, but it show me some errors.

    First of all, it showed me:

    ORA-19501: error in reading file... SYSAUX. DBF

    ORA-27070: async read/write failed

    OSD-04016: error queuing an asynchronous i/o request.

    And when I passed the dbv on the SYSAUX file utility. DBF showed the fatal error.

    So, I switched CHKDSK utility on windows to repair the disc of the error. After that, run utility dbv and he passed and showed me the corrupt on SYSAUX blocks. DBF

    Then, came to rman and ran:

    RMAN > validate the logical database checking;

    State of the file marked corrupt blocks examined empty blocks high YVERT

    After that: watching the content of v$ database_block_corruption;

    Show me a lot of lines like this:

    3 4384 1 0 ZERO ALL THE

    3 4334 1 0 ZERO ALL THE

    ...

    33 selected lines.

    Finally I try to rerun rman and he shows me the error:

    ORA-19566: exceeded the limit of 0 blocks corrupt file C:\ORACLEXE\APP\ORACLE\ORADATA\XE\SYSAUX. DBF

    How can I do backup with rman? Maybe I can by pass the corrupt block?

    I'll be grateful for any help you can provide.

    =)

    It would be better if you try to find the reason of corruption and try to recover the corrupt blocks. A block corrupted in the backup would really not must use. But if you're ready to take backup, you can ask RMAN to ignore corrupt blocks and move forward.

    Use the pseudo-code for the backup

    Run {set maxcorrupte for the database to 10;

    backup tablespace sysaux ;}

  • RMAN copy of active database

    Hello

    I'm in 11 GR 2 Enterprise edition (solaris 10), I would overlap with my current database (big) to a remote host. I start the process at 08:00. Need me perhaps several hours because the network, so when the end process, to 21:00, my new database will be consistent information from 08:00 to home base.

    1-if this true?

    2 be rollforward secondary database at 21:00 copy and apply the archived primary redo logs file? If Yes, at what time?

    3 - If the primary database changes after 08:00, the changes are rejected at 21:00 in the secondary database?

    I hope that I have explained clearly my doubts.

    Thank you and best regards.

    Francesco

    The duplicate database is a copy of the target with a new DBID database. Therefore, when the double process has completed, you can not use the original database archivelogs to roll forward the database duplicate.

    Double assets will use the target directly rather than depend on RMAN backup and restore database. In all cases, the duplicate database will open with resetlogs. The farthest that RMAN can go in the recovery of the duplicate database is the most recent log of redo archived from the source database.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/backup.111/b28270/rcmdupdb.htm

    Perhaps to create a database of sleep rather than a duplicate database would be the best option in your scenario.

    I'm not sure about that piece of information in the installation documentation

    Please see

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E17236_01/EPM.1112/epm_install_11121/frameset.htm?launch.html
    During Setup in a distributed environment, provide a name for the new single instance that you configure each server. For example, if you use the epmsystem1 of name of default instance on the first server, and you keep the same names on the Server naming convention, you must create new, instance names unique on each subsequent server, like epmsystem2, epmsystem3, and > so now.
    What happens if I use the same path "d:\...\epmsystem1" on all servers in a distributed environment?

  • name of database name - confused Server vs

    Hi all
    I am looking at the API OracleDataSource, what say the docs:

    databaseName, string name of the particular database on the server. Also known as the SID in the Oracle terminology.

    Servername String the name of the database server

    I know the databaseName and can also find using select name from v$ database;

    But how to find the name of the server? Any file or command that can be used to find this info?

    Thanks in advance

    The server name is the name of the area where your database resides. You can ask your Sysdba to give you that. IF you are on the same square, servername can be replaced with localhost.

  • Another issue duplicate RMAN - RAC database to single instance

    Hello

    I have a problem with RMAN duplicate procedure and hoped that someone can help you.

    I would like to create a duplicate of our data base RAC production on a separate and autonomous, database on another site server. This duplicate will be used to execute queries to another business unit that I don't want to have access to our database of intensive production.

    My procedure goes like this:

    1. create a (not ASM) disk based backup data files and recovery logs archived:

    'run {} '.
    allocate channel d1 type disk;
    backup format ' / u02/stage/df_t%t_s%s_p%p' database more entered archivelog delete;
    output channel d1;
    }"

    2 tar and scp those files to the same location on the standalone database server.

    3. in the meantime, work that's happened on the basis of data production and other archived redo logs have been generated. I don't really care about these papers for the purposes of the duplicate however, I just want to replicate to the point of the last backup. I have to do this, run the following SQL to determine the sequence number should I be duplicating up to:

    "Select max(sequence#) thread # v $ archived_log, whereas the deleted = 'YES' group by thread #;"

    4 duplicate the production to the stand-alone database database (SQL Net work orders).

    'run {} '.
    until the sequence (the value returned by the SQL statement above);
    duplicate target database xxx;
    }"

    However, my problem because I don't know how to handle the fact that he has two sons. I understand that each thread relates to one of the CARS, I don't know which one to specify the copy. We have a service of data that the client application connects through, and that the service runs on any of the bodies. I should just care about newspapers in the instance where the service is running?

    AM I even approach that this is the right way?

    I look forward to any help that people may be able to offer.

    Kind regards

    Phil

    for example, if you specify until the thread in the sequence 9750 1; RMAN will search journal 7933 on thread2 to catch the 1 wire SNA 569259816.
    Specify the set as a thread in 7933 2 sequence; and two copies must go ok!

  • How to take database backup ASM/Instance?

    Hello

    I'm new with ASM. We take ASM/instance of database backup.

    can we have the idea to backup ASM?

    1. what components should be saved as database/Instance ASM / ASM all files?

    Please do the needful.

    Thank you
    Nitin

    Hello Nitin,

    First of all, you must understand that the RDBMS & ASM instance is different but yes, both are running on the same computer.

    ASM includes essentially two things: ASM instance (1) and the storage of the DSO (2).

    (1) ASM instance
    ------------------------

    That's just an instance when we do not backup but Yes if you want to keep the ASM instance configuration file then just follow these steps:

    [grid@host01 ~] $. oraenv
    ORACLE_SID = [+ ASM1]? + ASM1
    The basic Oracle for ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/11.2.0/grid is/u01/app/grid

    SQL > create pfile='/home/grid/init+ASM1.ora' of spfile;

    Created file.

    (2) ASM STORAGE
    -------------------------

    -Storage ASM includes essentially ASM starts, namely new set of disks.

    -Whenever we do not create ASM diskgroup diskgroup contains still three things:

    (a) disc ASM
    (b) models and metadata
    (c) the ASM files (essentially datafile or all database files)

    -We take backup of two things on three things in ASM diskgroup:

    (1) ASM files - with RMAN because these are files of database.
    (2) ASM diskgroup models & metadata - with the MD_BACKUP of ASMCMD command.

    Now, MD_BACKUP will create a backup as your specified location file and this file will includes all models and metadata of the diskgroup. Benefits of taking diskgroup metadata are, if we lost the diskgroup, so we do not worry some details configuration command MD_RESTORE use to recreate the diskgroup with the same configuration. But remember that it does not restore the data file or any other file that was there on the diskgroup going to use RMAN to restore the missing files.

    See the example:

  • Auxiliary instance timeout

    Hi Experts,
    I'm creating a database of duplicate on oracle 10.2.0 on XP on a remote machine.

    first host (suman) is the source and the second host (sumanr) is target means duplicate. in 2nd host, I have installed the oracle software, created the pswd, pfile, the instance file and started in nomount. In home 1st DB is open and ongoing, now I try to connect to the 2nd host instance but get the following error...
    RMAN> connect target

    connected to target database: ORCL (DBID=1255758361)

    RMAN> connect auxiliary sys/oracle@stby

    the host "stby" chain is to connect to the 2nd DB host.

    I did not mention any parameter of timeout in sqlnet.ora

    Any help will be appreciated

    Always try to clone instance to the. as

    RMAN target sys/***@orcl auxiliary.

    Error: ORA-12170 (ORA-12170)
    Text: TNS: Connect timeout occurred
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Cause: The server is stopped because the connection with a
    customer did not complete in the allotted time interval. This
    may be the result of network/system delays; or it can mean
    that a malicious client tries to cause a denial of Service
    attack on the server.
    Action: If the error occurred because of a slow system/network,
    Reconfigure the SQLNET. Setting INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT in
    SQLNET.ora to a higher value. If a malicious client is suspected,
    Use the address in sqlnet.log to identify the source and to limit
    access. Note that the registered addresses are maybe not reliable because they can
    be forged (e.g. TCP/IP).
