  I found a post on our discussion forum to a client who was trying to do the same thing as you and also ran into a crash of VB6. In his case, the accident was caused by an incorrect setting during the call to the function.

  The first part of the post office treats the correct settings. The second part of this post does not apply to your configuration, your type of card that supports under the power state.

• InDesign CS6 crashing when you try to change paragraph styles

  I'm under InDesign CS6 8.0.1 on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.2

  Whenever I double click a paragraph style to try to change it, InDesign freezes and won't let me leave. When I try to quit smoking by using the menu in now and clicking on the InDesign icon in my dock I get error message saying that "cannot handle request a dialogue model or alert is inactive.» Then I have to force quit. On the revival of demand all my personal creative return to default values (space, typography, etc.)

  I don't know if this is related, but I found at random a .idms file on my desktop today still. Not sure where it belongs or it comes. (Snippet_30719E70D.idms)

  The error seems to indicate that the edit style dialog box is open, but not visible. Try closing or relocation of some windows, if you can.

  When I try to edit the points in my document, the window does not display properly and then blocks of InDesign.  The reopening, the automatic backup window writes the file is corrupted... is there a way to modify this / understand what exactly is the problem with the file?

  Try this: remove the corruption of minor exporting

  It won't help with the why, but it could solve the problem.

• How can I stop the InDesignCC crashing when you try to change the text

  I'm in an office of 5 users and all 5 of us have the same problem with InDesign CC.  Whenever we get to anything having to do with fonts, InDesign crashes.

  (1) create a new document, select the text = Crash tool

  (2) open an another InDesign doc try to assign fonts for missing fonts = crash

  (3) select text objects in an InDesign doc = Crash

  I can modify the object, the paths and images. It occurs when they are Associates/text fonts.

  We use FontAgent Pro 5,028 for font management, but I tried with and without the FontAgent plugins installed.

  This is the accident report.

• Why Muse 2.2.6 crash when I try to change fonts?

  I'm just getting started with Muse.  I have created a new site, mapped the site, created a background and try to add text to the homepage.  Whenever I have access the menu fonts, the program stops while I'm scrolling police selections.  Help please.

  To close the loop, abhishek.g and I have worked with bromo2 to diagnose and treat this crash.

  The accident was the result of having two different versions of the same font installed once at the location of/Library/Fonts available to all users and once in /Library/Fonts where one Type 1 fonts, which is not supported by the Muse, and other fonts to a format supported by Muse.

  Once the police duplicate has been identified, remove the Type 1 version has been sufficient to avoid the error.

  We will isolate the cause of the accident and change the code to deal with multiple fonts with the same name and different versions being installed correctly.

• Definition crashes when I try to change mail signature

  I had this problem until I upgraded to 10.0.2. Understood that the upgrade would be useful, but no dice.   Have what troubleshooting you tried? Troubleshooting user steps include reboot, reset, restore from backup, restore to factory; tests after each stage.

  I chat with a HP technician, and we tried different things, such as remove all printer drivers, check/repair disk permissions, restart the computer, uninstall/install the software, BUT STILL the problem persists, the only solution was to wait for a new software update... womp womp. >:\

  Details: Im trying to change the settings of the "Scan to Comp" shortcuts, specifically in the "Scan tasks" tab > Document to be filed, so im not able to customize the settings. See photo below.

  Sound too worthy to metion I downloaded the software from the HP "Photosmart-5510 - series_v12.14.0.dmg" and once I saw the crash, I uninstalled and redownloaded the software just to be sure, but still the same problem.

  If you are using Win7, you would like to try this

  (1) create a shortcut to the Organizer (PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe)

  (2) right click on the shortcut and select run as administrator (even if you are an administrator)

  (3) repeat the process of picture messaging

  If it works, then you can close Organizer and try again without the run as administrator

  I found out what was causing the problem: I had customized a framework so this return to the line worked in the design pane (my opinion is set to 125%).  Once I changed this parameter at the initial value of the FAKE, I can now change properties of an open topic. The parameter that I changed was:

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\RoboHelp\9.00\RoboEditor\Defaults\Pag eLayout

• RoboHelp HTML v5 Crash when I try to open the topic

  I did a minor change on a small subject in an existing project. RoboHelp crashed before I could save. I have finished the task and reloaded the project in human resources and received this msg:
  
  The reference to the file "C:\help projects\UW\IDI UW\Chap 15\file:\C man.css" to the folder "'C:\help projects\UW\IDI UW\Chap 15\syndrome.htm' contains illegal characters and do not appear in the project manager.
  
  HR crashed again. I loaded the file referenced in Internet Explorer, find the funky path displayed on the error msg, modied it and saved the file. When I tried to open the project in HR and open the topic, I got the error again, but HR crashed. Completed the task w/Windows Task Manager, responsible for HR and opens the project. Then I deleted the subject offending and reimported it from a MS Word file. No error MSG, but HR has crashed again.
  
  I was able to change something else, save and regenerate. However, now HR block any topic trying to change. The last time I worked on this project was 11/07, and everything went well then.
  
  It's late Sunday night. I'm puzzled. Big question for a Monday morning. Any ideas?
  

  I decided to try the oldest trick in the book and restart the computer. That solved the problem! Duh!

  However, I need to modify the indexes on the project and HR crashes when I try to open the index Designer. I have not tried to restart. I'll open another topic on this one. I found many problems with HR crashes, and maybe that will help someone else, when we have a resolution.

• RoboHelp 8 crashes when you try to use an open dialog box

  The title says pretty much all this. RoboHelp freezes when I try to use Open... of the start screen or file > open or any other control that accesses the dialog box open (i.e., open/Explorer button on the settings tab of content in the settings of FrameMaker Document dialog box). I have to finish the process in the Task Manager, and then restart RoboHelp. (Fortunately, the recent projects links work - except to open them..., of course.)

  I discovered this when I had to restore links to displaced FrameMaker documents. My installation is TCS2 running Windows 7 32-bit; all all components TCS2 and Windows 7 updates have been installed.

  I tried a Reinstall RoboHelp on-site, but that made no difference.

  Any ideas?

  Maybe that something went crazy and he thinks that you have several screens, and open your dialogs out of the screen?

  Select file > open, and then do the following:

  Press Alt + space + M, then an arrow key.

  Waggle, the mouse wildly until the dialog box is displayed on the screen, then left click on the mouse to drag where you want.

  (I assume that it will continue to operate under Windows 7, but don't have this version to try it).

  If you encounter any problems with your dialog boxes, I think that you would have access to each dialog box and repeat to get them all in the right place. Even if I remember something about a registry hack - I don't know if that affects all the boxes of dialogue or just a / a. I think it's Rick who posted originally, so it could hold and be able to answer this question.
