Rollover Caption border

I have a specific use case, and I was not able to make it work. I want a caption of overview section to display a border, but only when the mouse cursor is over, with the same schedule as the legend itself. Can someone tell me if this can be done in 8 Captivate?

In your version (Captivate 8) or earlier versions you can do with the widget event handler, but only for a SWF output. No HTML5.

In Captivate 9, it is easy to do with the new feature of States of objects.  If this is very important for your project, you might find it useful to upgrade.

    Hi all

Newbie here and I was wondering if there is an option to display a picture to go with a rollover caption. I want the user to mouse on a place and have the legend and an image to display. I played a bit with variables and advanced actions, and it has not worked yet.

    Thank you.

Have you tried the slidelet? You can put the image and text in there.

  • The simultaneous use of a rollover captions and Flash button

    Hello

I have a button that I created in Flash. When hovered over, the button changes to a different color. I would use this button simultaneously with the legend of reversal feature in Captivate, but it looks like I can get only one or the other to work, depending on who is stacked on top.

Someone has ideas of solution, in addition to create each button individually in Flash and adding the text in point State?

    I use CP6.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Why use Flash just to create a rollover button? Captivate offer buttons image where you specify up to three images used for bearings. And with the touch of Captivate, you can activate the legend of suspicion provide transfer you're looking for.

  • Rollover Caption remains present when you return to a section

    Hello

    (Adobe Captivate 3)
I have a slide on the homepage where users can click on various objects (icons) who they navigate to another slide. When a user points to an icon, they will see a placeholder text appear above it. It disappears when they move away from their mouse cursor.

For example, when a user clicks on the icon they navigate to a different shift. Now, when the user presses a back button to return to the home page where all the icons are... the roller on the legend is still present. (As you can still see floating above the icon).

The only way to do away with the legend is to move the mouse cursor over the rollover area and then the legend will disappear.

Goal: I would like it so that when a user back to the home page, they do not see the legend always hovering over the icon.

Hope there's a simple solution... Thank you

Hi Danny and welcome in our community

Unfortunately, everything what I can do at this point is to recommend that report you this to the team of development as an oddity. Captivate 3 does not change the pitch on this issue. In fact, it has been exploited to create the "Jeopardy" style game you can download from the exchange of Captivate.

You can visit the Captivate Exchange by clicking here.
You can declare the behavior not desired by clicking here.

  • Hide Overview for editing captions

    Hi, all.

I'm converting some courses that make abundant use of bearings in Authorware to Captivate.  I find that in Captivate, rollover captions cover everything, so I can't really see or access the slide under.  My understanding is that if I click under the eye little to hide the animated button, this also will hide in the edition.   I'm afraid that I will not forget to show this new (not to mention, the next time I change the slide, I have to redo everything).

Is there a parameter to hide the legends of overview, while the edition which allows them to be visible once published?  IOW, I want to be able to view the slide during editing as he looks into the film and only light a legend if I need to change its size, location or text (then immediately hide again in edit mode).

    Thank you;

    Amy

    Hello

It is a common misunderstanding: the eye on the timeline will hide objects for editing purposes but will not change the publication, these objects will remain visible. So please, go ahead, use this "eye" for all the objects you want to hide for the edition.

Here is a link to my blog on the features of the timeline (including the "eye" icon):

    Small timeline Tidbits

If you really want to hide objects also after the publication, you will need to uncheck the visibility in its properties. Can not show you a screenshot because you did not mention the version you are using. The object will remain visible during editing, but will not be displayed when published.

  • Customs add captions are not displayed correctly

    Hello

The default captions in Breeze have a minimun height that is often times too large. If I have one of these files BMP resize and save a copy, everything works fine and I have a new legend with a reduction of the minimum size.

What about new legends. Seems easy, create a file in a drawing program such as Photoshop, make a custom legend and save a BMP file. However, once you add it to your project, you get nothing. Why should I get new legends? Well, I need an image that lives on a screen to disappear when I want it. So, I want to put a legend of big WHITE reversal over the image when the user moves the mouse in a certain area. Oh, the movie is paused.

    Help!

Thank you lisa what would you say of new legends. What would you say of new legends.

    Wow,

I found a solution! I think that if I use a click instead of a rollover caption box, I will be able to use the Captivate timeline to do what I want. The only draw back is that the learner can access information only once when they click, because they cannot go back in time or a specific image.

The only other way to solve this problem is to perform the interaction across multiple slides where I have duplicate information.

  • By clicking on OAM and scroll to an anchor in Muse.

Hello I have a big problem with Adobe Edge animate and Muse!

I made a button Rollover in border in the Muse. Mouseover and mouseout/mouseouthandler() functions work well.

But my problem is: When I click on the animation I want to scroll smoothly to an anchor. My anchor is called aboutme. I don't know how to do this. I found sites like this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3163615/how-to-scroll-html-page-to-given-anchor-using-j request-or-javascript , but I have no idea what I have a place where.

Someone from the community here can make me a code that I can put on board as a click event? I have really no idea/knowledge of HTML, CSS or Java and I am German (it is so hard to understand this). It must scroll too to example.com / #aboutme very smooth as normal hyperlinks in Muse.

  • Persistent Hint button?

I record a software simulation using C8. In a section, I would like that the learner to practice what I've shown just them. I would like for there to be a suspicion persistent button that would give them instruction if they get stuck or forget what has been said in the audio.

I don't like how the legends of default flag for the buttons to work, because the legend displays when the learner flies over the area they are supposed to click or insert text. I tried a few different options using active forms in the form of buttons, but as soon as I clicked on the button advanced presentation and I didn't fill out the original task. Then I tried an active form by default, and covered with a legend of reversal. I'm not really excited about this option either because the shape looks so plain and it is heavy to create one for each slide.

I don't have much experience with advanced actions, but I was wondering if there is an easier way to do this or if the legend of working capital is going to be my best option.

    Thanks in advance!

To avoid the playhead to continue, you need to replace the simple action by a standard action (one line): Why choose Standard Simple action?-Captivate blog explains the reason for which, also has a link to a YouTube video if you prefer that.

  • Multiple subtitles with different audio

    Hello

I have several buttons on a slide that each play different audio when clicked.

Is there a way I can add subtitles coded for each of them separately?

    Thank you

    Mandy

If your condition is to allow to the learner to play a number of different audio with transcription of the text of the voice-over of support there is a much easier method to achieve this result.

Just add rollover captions and add audio clips to the part of the legend of the object.  Add the transcription of the audio clip as the text in the legend.  Then when places of the learner their mouse over the button that is animated hit the region, the legend is displayed, the audio clip will play, and the learner can show the transcript in the legend.  As soon as they move their mouse out of the affected area the clip stops.

  • Legends of slider widget

    Hello again!

I recently found the Infosemantics slider and rotator widgets and asked if it was possible to use a slider or the CAP as a way to display the caption text or other objects.

For example, if there is a wheel that had 5 top labels, could trigger Cap a legend should appear when turning the dial on it.

I tried to use rollover captions, but the slider covers reversal target areas, or you can not select the slider because of the reversal.

Any help would be really appreciated!

    With the help of CP7

    Yes this is possible.

Open the rotator widget. Go to the review section. Turn on evaluate them success or failure and choose "continually." Under success criteria choose Score greater than or equal to and drag the slider to the left (essentially meaning that whenever land button he will succeed), be sure to reset break for success criteria is running.

Go to the tab and change the suspension settings to disable continue.

Accept these changes, and then select the widget. In the properties panel, go to the Actions section. The action of the success of your tip Action, then cut Pause for Success/Failure captions.

Give that a go and let me know if it works.

  • How to disable ToolTips when you save 6 Captivate?

I don't want to have ToolTips captured as part of the record. Y at - it a setting I can use to turn off the ToolTips appear in the captured project?

Not as simple as that. A workflow is to wait until the ToolTip disappears and use PrintScreen to add an extra slide (removal of slides is a difficult step). Another possibility to avoid having the ToolTip 'taken' in the background image is to choose the option to convert to rollover captions (which are easier to remove) in preferences, check.
