Rootkit causes my pc to not load my user account.

One day I tried to log on my user account, but it said something like windows cannot load the file, it may have been corrupted or something like that. Then he told me take up a temporary account and any changes made will not be saved when that I disconnect. I did a search on the computer with AVG 8 (free) but came back with nothing. So I did a rootkit scan and gave me 2 files. These are the files that he gave me:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfsnifs.sys

I believe that the two were the same files. No other user accounts have been injured, but all my files and documents are missing. I don't think they are gone, just.

Your problem description describes a typical problem of 'corrupted profile '.  It is a quite common phenomenon.  Sometimes running "chkdsk/r" will fix this problem and should be your first attempt to solve the problem:

"How to perform disk error in Windows XP check"

If this does not work, follow the instructions in one of the following two articles:

"How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"
"How to copy data from a corrupted to a new profile in Windows XP user profile"

Personally, I doubt that a rootkit has something to do with it.

  • try to change the mode of feeding for a user account, the instructions worked to change the administrator account, but changes do not appear on user accounts.

On my HP 510 laptop, I want to change the power mode to one of the user accounts.  It cannot be changed of in the user account, so I followed these instructions: log in as administrator, do the selection desired in the list of available eating patterns (Control Panel, Power Options, eating patterns), click on apply, then log in as administrator.  I find that the selected power mode has been applied to the administrator account, but not to one of the user accounts. I tried to change in the user account, but still receive the "access denied" response

I recently installed Microsoft Security Essentials. My reading of various internet stations indicate that some older antivirus programs may have hindered this process of power management. I was not able to discover how to inactivate Security Essentials, so did not try to change the mode of power without interference from her.

Another indicated position of the potential interference of the BIOS settings. I don't know how to check if this may be the case. I have MS Windows XP Pro SP3 installed. I have automatic and current updates.

    Hello

You can change the setting in see Group Policy for this document:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730920.aspx

Or change temporarily the user to an admin account, make the changes and then return as a standard user.

  • Adobe Flash Player works fine on my administrator account, but not on my user account.

On my PC, I have an administrator account and a personal account. My OS is Vista Home premium 64-bit and I only use THE 32-bit version or Firefox.  I uninstalled and installed Flash on both accounts to make sure that I have the latest version, but the Flash works on my administrator account.  I checked that Shockwave Flash Object add on is enabled.  I checked the Flash executables reside in both SysWOW64\Macromed\flash and System32\Macromed\flash files, although the FlashUtil64_11_3_300_270_Activex.exe is located in the System32 folder and the FlashUtil32... resides in the SysWOW64 folder that seems intuitive.  But it works on the administrator account, so I guess that's not the issue.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

    1. What is the error message on the nonadministrator account?

    2. what happens when you try to play videos online using Internet Explorer?

    3. what version of IE are you using?

    4. What is the accurate and complete error message?

    Method 1.

Follow these steps and let me know the status.

1 Uninstall Flash Player of two user accounts.

    2. reinstall Flash player only on the admin account. You must install only the 32-bit version of Flash Player.

    Method 2.

It is likely that the user account can be corrupted.

You can create a new user account and check if the problem persists.

    Create a user account: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account

If the problem is resolved, the corruption of user account is confirmed. You can see the article 'Fix a corrupted user profile', so that you can transfer all the necessary data on the account damaged to the new account.

While trying to change the folder permissions for a second user on my computer, I did something that I lock my C drive.

I am not able to access denied drive from C to all 'access '.

When I right click on the C drive and select Properties > Security tab > go on, said the popup "cannot open the access control editor. Access is denied. »

When you select Properties > Security tab > advanced > owner tab > continue, current owner says "unable to display current owner. Can not change, cannot be changed.

I can't turn off user account control, nothing happens when I click the icon or the text.

  • How can I connect to a user on my drive c that are not not on my user account in my control panel

    Thanks for your help...

    Here's the question...

I am not able to connect to the user account.  When I check the c drive of the user is referenced, but when I checked under the user Panel is not listed.

The question is how can I connect a user account in my c drive not registered on my user account in my control panel?

Files in the folder (C:\Users) user account are left after the removal of the user of a computer account.

Presence of a user account in the C drive does not necessarily a real account by this name need to exist.

  • Can not turn on user account control

I need to install a program, so I logged on to the administrator account and disabled UAC via Control Panel.  I restarted as shown and installed the program without problem.  Now, I tried to return to the control panel to turn UAC back on and when I click on 'Enable user account control or disable' nothing happens.  When I click on "Change your account name" or 'Change your account Type', nothing happens here as well.    I also noticed a multicolor shield is located in front of each of these choices, but is not in the face of change your photo or change your Passwod, as well to which I can click on and reach the submenu.  I should also not that to the right of these selections, it shows me as an administrator.

    Hi Cobalt22,.

Try the following alternative methods to enable UAC

Method 1: Enable UAC via MSConfig

Step 1: Open the command by pressing + R or via start and type command into the search

Step 2: Type in msconfig (you should see the pop-up UAC asking if you want to continue)

Step 3: Click on the tab of tools scroll down until your see disable UAC. Click on it and press the button to launch below.

Step 4: A command window opens. When this command is finished, you can close the window.

Method 2: Enable UAC via the Windows Vista command prompt

Step 1: Open the run command using + R

    Step 2: type cmd

Step 3: Copy paste the following and press enter

    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 1 f v

You may have to restart your computer.

  • User names found using the command run "control userpasswords2" do not match my user accounts

Hello, on the #4 computer, when I use the command run, I get a list of 4 users. A, B, C, and comments.
When I look in Control Panel I see 4 users, A, C, D and comments.
    When I go to C\:Users I see B, C, D and comments.
I have problems with this computer #4, I get access denied, check the spelling, error code 8007005 0 x.
All of these accounts should not match in computer #4?

On my 3 other computers that can network with each other the results of the run command, results of the Panel control and C:\User results all correspond to A, C, D and are same as seen in Control Panel of the computer #4 comments.

I think that the problem lies in computer #4 and is linked to the user names/accounts do not match. 4 computers user accounts all corresponding in Control Panel, so no problems.

Don't you think that this problem of networking is related to incompatibility I describe? How can I fix this?   Gift of TIA

I finally thought to it. They wore all the user names that came when I ran the command "control userpasswords2". As I said in my original post, user names in all the names of the Panel user control over all matching computers. The only conflict I've had was in the list of user names in the list found when I ran "control userpasswords2". I went to highlight the 'B' account after that I ran the command, you click Properties and changed his name to 'A'. This solved my access denied problem once and for all. Apparently he does not have all of the accounts in the control panel.

  • Could not create the user account

Unlike some other subjects that I looked at, I am unable to create a new user account at all.  The list 'manage accounts' is totally empty (do not list me).  Windows 7 Professional, new Dell Inspiron Zino HD.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you must open the Console with elevated privileges. Log on under a user account that belongs to the Administrators group, then do this:
    1. create a shortcut on the desktop pointing to cmd.exe. Call Console.
2 right click on the shortcut to the Console, and then run it as administrator.
    3. now type the commands I gave you before.

  • Not available/blocked user account control

My hard drive C has been blocked. How can I get possession to her. I went to the properties, click Security and try to get the permission, but couldnot, I am the administrator, but it says you are not allowed to access (cannot open the access control editor). I tried all possible means including the restoration but nothing are accepted. In fact I did the Security Exchange 1 week ago and plan stranded to open C to my laptop but now even, I'm stuck also. changes not permitted in C drive. Troubleshooting is also not open. Even try to work through 'manage' after clicking on my computer but nothing is allowed. Today, what is the way out?

    Hi Anurag,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forum. I understand that you are unable to access the reader C. I imagine this must be difficult for you. I would like to help solve you the problem.

Before troubleshooting, provide us with information.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. what security software is installed?

    3. are you able to boot to desktop screen?

    4. do you have the windows 7 installation disc?

There could be some corruptions in the profile or user account with permission on the C drive. In order to help you resolve this issue, follow these methods:

    Method 1.

Start the computer in safe mode and check if you are able to get to the desktop screen.

Advanced startup options (including safe mode): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

    Method 2.

You can use the restore points for Windows 7 to return to a previous state, when your computer was working properly.

    System Restore: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore

Important: System Restore will return all system files not as documents, email, music, etc., to a previous state. These files of types are completely affected by the restoration of the system. If it was your intention with this tool to recover a deleted file to non-system, try using a file instead of system restore recovery program.

We don't have find me and TMS provisioing Extension service license, don't you think that's the reason.

    Hello

It's probably because that VCS runs in TMS PE commissioning mode, in which FindMe is managed by the portal user in TMS, meaning there is no need to set up the maintenance > logins on the VCS.

Edit: You added information that you do not have the keys option Device Provisioning and FindMe. Because user names relate directly to FindMe, the absence of an option key FindMe would explain also unable to see maintenance > login accounts > user accounts.
