I keep losing my connection Wireless on my Dell Studio XPS 1647 running windows 7 Home premium.  I have a router netgear dual band Dell laptop, xbox 360 in my house and my other computer and panasonic tv all run on the network without any problems.  My wireless card is an intel centrino advanced-n 6200 and my card was replaced, reinstalled by Dell and updated, because they thought it was the problem.  I also turned off the power to the wireless card management to make sure that wasn't the problem.  My internet runs fine for about 10 minutes or less then slow down or completely the loss of connections.  I am at a total loss about what to do next, and would appreciate any help!

Your TV service and the phone can function properly and at the same time, your Internet connection may be down.  I always check the box attached over the outside to see if the Internet light is on when this happens.  Usually he is gone because of something done Comcast.  You didn't say which is your Internet access provider, but you can check with them.

When I call Comcast they me jump through a bunch of hoops to a canned script, that they have, which most is useless, but they said that is what to tell people.  :-(  In my case, I found that unplugging the power cord from the Comcast box for a minute or two, then reconnecting usually solves the problem without having to turn off and restart.  Usually if I simply ignore it for a period of time (usually less than one hour) it will recover on its own.  YMMV

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • keep losing internet connection on PC laptop of HP Pavilion g6

As above, I keep losing internet connection on PC laptop of HP Pavilion g6 and often have to go out to get it back. I had the laptop for over a year and have had this problem from day one. There is often no connection at all. I'll be on a a Bab beautiful site and then the next it just freezes. Sometimes clicking on dissconnect then reconnect will solve the problem. But most of the time that I have to turn it off, wait a few minutes and then restart your computer. It does not always if I have to do it again. As above, I have had this problem from day one. When I got it home it has no connection to be seen. I took it streight back to PC world, they passed it and connections were there. When I got home, turned on others were there, but not my own. After the market again was mine. After that, it was OK for a week or two, then I started having the problems that I have now. My son sitting about three feet from me on his laptop has no problems at all so I know that it is the laptop and not my router. My wife, my son and my phone are also on the internet through the router when it fires. Now and then it will be OK for a few days, but most of the time it turns off several times a day. It's a good pain as each else with the laptop is great.

Thanks for your post, I will do my best to help.

  • My driver support does not work all the time, won't let me connect, keeps losing internet connection.

    * Original title: SUPPORT of the PILOTS LOSE INTERNET.

My driver support does not work all the time, won't let me connect, keeps losing internet connection.

What do you mean by "driver support?

If you have installed one of these offers of support software driver, you have installed malware.  The vast majority of them no useful software and installing a lot of malware on your computer.

The drivers are not the soft thing you should normally be updated.  I recommend the updated drivers only in the case of a problem that has to solve, and it's rare.

Is the ONLY source, you should consider for driver updates or OEM support site.  Even those who sometimes go way overboard in trying to update the drivers.  The latest Dell systems are equipped with updated software that checks for new updates every day.   In most cases, drivers are rarely updated after the first year of a product.

  • Why I keep losing internet connection?

For a long time, I keep losing the internet connection.

    I lose the connection when:

    • I move to a different location around the House
    • Another computer is turned on
    • I just returned from a sleep mode

Why is this? Because of the router?

    Help, please! Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And
I would update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router?
Are there obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver-
Note the version - click on update driver (can't do anything as MS is far behind certifying)
drivers). Then right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver
    stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version.
(Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers Vista
    love the updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If Windows Update suggests a just HIDE
because they are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Hi, I recently got a laptop HP pavilion, but the internet connection keeps ending. I'm family premium Vista running on it. Have domestic also work 6,000 inspiron dell wireless on the same network and it never disconnects. Totally reliable so I think that the wireless network/router is fine.

    Hi eddie,.

Please use the forum answers of Vista,

Check in Control Panel > Device Manager > locate the adapter wireless network in the list, right-click and choose Properties.  On the last tab, power management, uncheck the "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power".

  • Windows 7 keeps losing internet connection?

OK, so, since yesterday, I noticed my internet connection went on vacation, so I'm not used: unplug the modem and router for 30 seconds. (Or more). However, this occurred about 3 times in the same hour. It worked so well for the rest of the day. Now, today, happened about six times. What I notice is that it does not set itself when I unplug, but every time there is a new problem.

There was a "DNS server is not responding" one who came 3 times however.

But at the time it happened.

I'm not a person tech or all what you call them.

So, naturally I don't understand what all this means. What is the DNS server?
What does all this in the middle of the screen capture?

And how can I stop losing the internet connection?

    Hi, Freddy.

Method 1: Manually assign the IP address and the default gateway and check if it works very well.

Before assigning the IP address and the default gateway, make a note of the IP address of the computer. To do this open command prompt, type ipconfig and press to enter. This displays the IP address, make a note of it.

To manually assign the IP address and default gateway, follow these steps:

    a. in the system, right click on network icon tray. Choose Open network and sharing Center.

    b. right-click on Local area connection and click Properties.

    c. double-clickProtocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and assign the IP address manually.

Example: Old Ip address is 192.168.0.1
    Replace the IP 192.168.0.50

    d. that the subnet mask and default gateway are the same.

    Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0

Gateway by default, would usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

    e. click apply then click Ok and restart the computer and check if it helps to solve the problem.

Method 2: Temporarily disabling the firewall on your computer and check if it makes a difference.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Note: You should not turn off Windows Firewall unless you have another firewall is enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.

  • Dell Inspiron 17r keep losing wifi connection

Hello, I got my inspiron 17r since this Christmas. its obviously still in very good condition because there is not even a year yet. However, after about a month of having my computer I noticed something he did which was very annoying. the wifi connection is lost at random for about 2 minutes and then connects to re. Meanwhile, I can't load pages or anything. When he started to do this, it would occur only about once every 2 hours, but it gradually got worse and worse to the point that I cannot yet access the internet with it more. I start and it has no connection, then connects to the wifi for 5 seconds and then he loses again. Here's the deal, this only happens with my computer on all the computers in my family. I have a very good wifi connection because the connection has said 'good' each time it connects and this problem never happened with my last computer which is a toshiba. I know for a fact that this isn't a problem with my wifi at home because I brought my computer on a trip through the country before and it happened again. I got the help of a dell agent before and he gave me a link update some drivers which I don't remember. This has helped the problem a little bit for maybe a week or two, then it started to do it again. Please help me this is ridiculous, how does this happen considering how new and costly, the computer was

Only solution is to use a usb wireless adapter or run an ethernet cable which defeats being wireless.

Well said, their warranty covers only the hardware so I tell everyone to stay away from a product sold with a well-known problem

  • Network printer keeps losing its connection to laptop only

I have a HP 2055dn printer that is connected directly to the port USB001 on a Dell Windows 7 SP1 desktop pc. This printer is on our network with limited access to a specific user. The printer is installed on the pc as the default printer and works great. However, the issue is with the Dell laptop Windows XP SP3 to users that is connected to the network and also has access to the same printer. The printer is set up on the laptop and, sometimes, it works very well and it is sometimes impossible to connect to print. It doesn't matter whether or not it is defined as the default value. The driver is updated. There isn't any manually installed on the printer IP address, nor I see that the IP address of the printer is connected to on the server directly from computers to change a port setting. We use Windows 2003 server and do not have an internal network administrator.

After making the foregoing I check the devices and printers on the Win XP machine and the HP2055 is listed but still displays "unable to connect". When I check the port for this device settings, it says:

    Port: USB001

    Description: Virtual USB Port

Printer: HP LaserJet 2050 PCL6 of series

If the port on the laptop computer Windows XP appears as "USB001", this means that the laptop would expect to find the printer physically connected to one of its own USB ports.  This isn't where I understand that you have the attached printer.

Unless I'm totally confused about your configuration (always a distinct possibility), you have the printer physically connected to the Windows 7 desktop.  You want to be able to access the printer from the laptop XP over the network.

I guess that you can share files between the Windows 7 Desktop and laptop computer Windows XP.  If you can't share files because you have not properly configured the network permissions, you will not be able to share the printer either.

On the Windows 7 Desktop, go to printers and devices, right-click on the icon for the HP 2050 and select "printer properties".  Click on the "Sharing" tab  Boxes for 'Making the printing on the client computers' and 'Share this printer' must BOTH be audited.  Make a note of the name in the "Share name" box (this should be a name relatively short no spaces and no special characters, something like HP2050 would be nice).

On the desktop of Windows 7, click right my computer and select Properties.  Make a note of the name of the computer.

Because the instance of the printer currently installed on the laptop Windows XP expects to find the printer on the USB port, you must install another instance of the printer on the laptop.

    • Go to printers and faxes, and start the wizard to add a new printer (click on add a printer)
    • Click the radio button to add "a local printer attached to this computer.
    • Uncheck the box for "automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer."
    • Click next
    • Click on the radio button to "create a new port".
    • In the drop-down menu, select "Local Port"
    • Click next
    • In the "Enter a port name" box, type the following command and click OK
      \\COMPUTERNAME\Sharename

where "COMPUTERNAME" is the name of the computer in Windows 7 that you noted above and "Sharename" is the name of the sharing the printer configured on the Windows 7 computer
  • Run the wizard, add a new printer as usual.  If a message appears saying that a driver is already installed for this type of printer and you ask if you want to reuse the driver installed, answer Yes.
  • When you get to the step of naming the printer, add something on behalf of so that you will know that this instance is one that is installed on the Windows 7 computer.  For example, if your computer name is DELLW7, you can name this printer 'HP2050 on DellW7.
  • After you have confirmed that this system works reliably, you can delete the icon for the same printer in the screen of the laptop computer printers and fax machines (unless you sometimes actually want to connect the printer to the USB port of the laptop).
