  • USB device not recognized... Unplug the thing does NOT work

It baffles me that THOUSANDS of people have this problem, or a variant of it, and no ONE at Microsoft or elsewhere also offers a real solution. Unless of course you want to count the method "unplug your computer", which is the most foolish band-aid for a problem I never heard, even if it works for a lot of people (most). I, unfortunately, am one of those for which the "disconnect" method magic does NOT work. I tried everything what all other posters and responder suggested (BIOS upgrade, change Legacy BIOS definition Enable to disable to activate again, driver updates, uninstall all USB, full power down and restart hours later, use CMD prompt to show only devices, etc.) and do not know what else to try. I would really like to see a REAL answer as to the cause of the majority of the questions posted about the USB error outside the usual "restore your settings, use your restore disk, unplug it, replace your USB key, etc etc etc. HEY! MICROSOFT! SOLVE THE PROBLEM! OR, Hey, here's an idea, a news for you, I'm sure that... don't they exude products until they have been tested (NO! I mean really, fully tested [see XBox 360 RROD])

In case anyone reading this is a real working solution, I'm on a Toshiba A135-S2386, Vista Home, and each USB port is unusable on any device. All ports feeds the device and noise sounds to indicate that a USB device was attached and then proceeds to the display of the error "USB device not recognized" and shows and shows an unknown device connected. It does this for any USB device.

FINALLY: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT POST A REPLY IF YOU USED THE METHOD OF "DISCONNECT", AND IT WORKED. Grats to you for fixing your computer, but I can just not read another 400 posts of "wow it worked for me great fantastic" when it does NOT work for everyone. I need something new and real. (Sorry to be all grumpy, but I'm tired of these kinds of problems from companies making billions off the coast of junk, defective, half finished, produced a car!) "You listen to Bill?)

UPDATE: just ran a scan of the system file Confirmation via an administrator command prompt and it's clean...
ALSO - was not that before, but now whenever I do a complete power down / reboot thing that it gives me a "Bad Checksum" error and I have to reset the date and time in the BIOS. I need to change the battery in MB? As I said it did not have this before and the USB error was produced, but could this be the problem? Bad battery MB CMOS?

The bios of your motherboard is probably damaged.

step 1. See if you can find a previous version of the bios of your motherboard and return date of the bios.

step 2. Find the latest version of the bios of your motherboard and update your bios.

Do not use a registered version of your current version.

To check the problem is the motherboard or operating system. find something like a live Ubuntu CD

    http://www.Ubuntu.com/desktop/get-Ubuntu/download.

    or

Make a Ultimate Boot CD for Windows

http://www.UBCD4Win.com/index.htm you are using windows xp or borrow a copy to UBD4WIN.

Both of the above run in memory (does not load on hard drive.

Both a bit slow, but are excellent tools.

    Works like a normal computer.

If you can see you USB devices, magicjack, ETC. your BIOS is not corrupt or motherboard problem.

In normal windows if you see not the USB devices, magicjack, etc your windows install is corrupt.

    Reload Windows of difficulty.

If you you do not see the magicjack, USB devices, ETC., your BIOS is corrupt motherboard or other problem.

Redo your BIOS as described above.

All other unwanted do not work , he was done !

  • Where to find the replacement physical disk system restore?

Good so I had an old model Notebook/Tablet PC and tried Windows 8 on it, since Win8 is really Intense App and defined for the type touch screen interface and all that.

Well well... fingerprint reader and many other things simply does not work. Tried all workarounds that I could as well and it is just a no-go.  So I thought "hey Let's use this fancy restore disc".

Well... to restart the PC, press F11 and... nothing happens. It starts normally just.

So I'm in the bios and extend the deadline, thinking it didn't catch and then try again... and again... and again...

No luck... Curious, I opened the D: / and there is only 1 file seen...

    & drvmig & 1 KB of size...

But the D: / said he consumes more than 40 MB... as well as of... very unusual.

Since I have not implemented a Dual Boot of Windows Vista/Windows 8...   I'm stuck on 8, with a system non-working for the most part.  Even the wifi has problems. (Had to wait and go home on the desk to write this)

In any case... to sum up the story... I tried to find the disc "restore your system" paper with what he was referring to-because the Discless option apparently is a No Go (unless maybe someone else has something to try?)

The book says that I can order a replacement disc blah blah.  I know it's a few years old and everything - but the discs have got to be always around.  I must have my fully functional Wacom drivers - as well as the fingerprint reader (which seems to want to not install at all - even after several tries).

    EDIT:.

Tried anyway - it did nothing. It starts as if I had not changed a thing.

It does not appear that there is a command option or HP support is terrible, worse then I had ever imagined.  They should be ashamed of themselves for cutting so many corners.

The Tablet I bought is a known defective system.  Its design has many flaws that cause its failure usually in 1 year and 2 months of use.  Sometimes sooner, given the climates.

HP has refused to make public something known and refused to give him a recall notice - instead they keep blaming it on other things and never get the problem resolved.

I've been waiting 4 years after the last models were made - they would at least recognize this problem - at least a cup up to her.   This is not the case.

I fell on the Support forums to see if my problem can be corrected.  HP apparently cares not at all.

I will turn to illegal means to fix my problem - because HP don't care my system in any way, as well as take the chance - every chance I get - to warn everyone interested in a HP buy simply do not place.     We will go to Dell or Toshiba according to our needs.

HP should certainly be stopped.   Bad, bad product support and skirting around the fingers solutions then don't be directed to them for making a mistake.

Mistakes happen, HP.    What makes other companies so good compared to you - is that they cut up to the mistakes and try to do better for those made by them.  This does not mean giving millions of dollars - away simply stating "we messed up, but here is how you can solve the problem once and for all"-are all that is needed.

In my Tablet model, there is a kind of "carpet" fuzzy on one of the chain and the GPU has a thick heat cushion plugging on the radiator.  Here's the first problems.     Replace the thermal pad with a pure thickness 1.2 mm or 1 mm copper plate and use a few good thermal grease such as arctic silver 5 on both of its sides.  If you really want to guarantee employment some silicone high temperature apply sealant on the edges is like a framework so it it adheres in place and won't slip.  Replace the carpet with new grease as well, and your connections on the radiator must be perfect.

Lower temperatures up to 30 ° C.   Given that the system has been called to hit more frequently - 100 c and damage irreverseable - drop 30 c is a great victory.

I want you to keep in mind this "difficulty" requires almost no computer knowledge, around $8 in supplies to buy everything that (with shipping and handling and inflated ebay prices) and less than an hour of work to do.

So why, exactly, could not HP fix their own models of 4 years ago?  It was just the thermal pads, they used! They remove not enough heat, and indeed cuased heat build up on top of the CPU and GPU!  Copper to copper authorized connection heat flow upward and out of the system as it was proposed and solved overheating once and for all!

Microsoft has had a similar problem with their origins Xbox360, the RROD.  The problem of heating has been fixed by - you guessed it - fix the spacing between the GPU and the CPU contact for heat sinks.  It's another fix ' 1 mm '.

Of course, quality control slipped in both cases - but Microsoft rumbles again because they have replaced hard defective systems (sometimes with new systems depending on where you did) and said: "we are sorry".

However, HP has no.  This is why you are unable to HP. This is why people are upset.  If it was not a problem - we wouldn't be find ways to modify systems to correct.  But when even... you won't admit there are problems you too looked in the manufacturing industry.

Admit that you made a mistake.   At this time (4 years after the model has been released) nobody is going to care much if they can't get replacements.  That is what Ebay is for.  You won't have the money. You just do what you have had to do the whole time - that will HELP your customers stay loyal.

HPs new motto should be ' go cheap and don't care, we do it. "

I can VPN to SBS internally very well and can telnet to port 1723, but cannot spend outdoors.
I get error 800 how connection on windown 7 PC.

  • After 30 seconds of playback AVCHD m2ts to xbox 360 extender stutter starts, mfpmp goes to 100% on Windows 7 host computer.

    Hello

The first 30 seconds, the mfpmp.exe process takes just 10-20% during playback on the Xbox 360 Media Center Extender session. If no film (taken with sony HDR-CX11) more then 30 seconds is a problem, the stuttering start, maybe something with buffering of the mfpmp process. The content isn't DRM as much as I know, I don't need this.

I have a huge collection of movies to AVCHD and photos, so evertime I start the CCM session on the xbox a wmpnetwk.exe process is started to run multimedia files, + 60,000 images and + 25,000 video hollow. Perhaps he disrupts video playback, I just bought a xbox 360 slim. In 2010, I had a fat xbox version (RROD), he played the AVCHD content with no problems. My Windows 7 was not chaned meanwhile. It has Sp1 service pack and updates between the two, perhaps something has changed with AVCHD playback in a session of Xbox 360 MCE.

Any ideas why more long AVCHD movies are choppy / stutter during playback?

    What about Tom

In addition to the reported problem I suddenly could not use mstsc.exe in the same workstation Windows 7 mentioned above. After a few reboots and try and erros, I decided to uninstall the Antivirus software Avira free. This because the antivirus prevented me from using a restore point from the system since last week.

After uninstallation THAT RDP worked again, I also tried to spread the files m2ts to Xbox, @ first it stuttered again. I checked a few other films, after a few minutes all the movies played without problem.

I installed the basics of security, no more problems.
