Run a script before VCB instant?

Hi all

Here's my problem: I have an application (Lotus Domino) server that is not compatible VSS, so if I use VMware snapshots to back up its databases that they are all snapshots 'Sales', which means that the databases may not be compatible.

I was wondering if I could stop the Lotus Domino server, take a snapshot and restart the Lotus Domino server so that all databased were closed when the snapshot has taken place and I can then safely back them up without worrying about consistency; Obviously, I need it is a scheduled task and Lotus Domino must be offline as little as possible, just enough time for the snapshot.

Anyone know if this is possible, how or if this guarantee consistency of databases for backup operations?

Thank you in advance for anything that will help me.

You must use a script of 'freeze before. "

Note that script names are changed from the last ESX 3.5 and 1.5 VCB.

    Drag the slideshowbox Panel components on your stage and delete it (so you have it in your library).  check its properties and make sure that his class is SlideshowBox.  If this is not the case, use the appropriate class name:

    Hello

    I am inclined to ask 'why', but I refrain...

    The problem you'll have is that 'telnet' (really inetd) will be started by SMF and your app startup is a legacy script. I don't know of anyway to you allows to map addictive SMF one departure inherited. The only solution is to write a start of SMF for your application and do inetd:default require your application to be online before you start.

  • Running Powershell script with ESXCLI commands via a scheduled task in Windows 2012 does not work.

    I'm trying to run a powershell script of a scheduled task in Windows 2012. The script calls the commands ESXCLI and ends with success (exporting to a CSV file) but the file has no data inside.  If I run the script manually without the scheduled task file has all the I expect to exit.

    I wonder if there is a framework with Powershell or a PSSnapin I need to add to the script for it to run via a scheduled task.  Has anyone done this before with the ESXCLI commands?

    panhvr - you may to something.  The process account that I use to run this script has only read-only access in vCenter.  I logged on the server I am running these reports with the process ID and tried to run the script.  He gave me errors indicating permission to perform the operations of esxcli was denied.

    I think we found the culprit!  I'll have this process ID in vCenter rights upward.

  • No model output module custom when you run the script from another process

    Hello

    I have a following problem:

    Try to automate the video rendering. When I run extend script of the program that is launched at windows startup, there is no custom output module template. If the script is started manually, it works perfectly.

    Trying to applyTemplate output module in the results of item renderer error queue.

    I use AE 2014 (13.1.1.3) and windows server 2012 standard r2.

    Sounds like a permissions problem, you will need to set your user contexts and escalate privileges before running the script.

  • Run the script in photoshop indesign plugin

    Hello

    first of all, sorry for my English, second I am new in indesign plugins creation (before I made some scripts)...

    I would like to know if it is possible to create a kind of indesign plugin which can run the script on specific psd file photoshop.

    If it isn't, you can create the program that allows you to control the indesign and photoshop?

    I don't know where to start...

    Thank you.

    ExtendScript has a path called "BridgeTalk" to call scripts in applications.

    Your C++ plugin, you should first invoke a script in InDesign and then using BridgeTalk remotely invoke other applications.

    There are some documents on BridgeTalk in the Guide of the JavaScript tools available in the Help menu of ESTK.

    There was also some related discussions and examples in the forum script.

    For a shell script that reads as

  • VCB - out registration script job VCB

    Hello

    I manage a small 3.5 ESX environment using VCB on a local desktop to save guest virtual machines each Sunday on USB hard drive. I've created a script that uses VCB to backup virtual machines on ESX 1 Gb Ethernet console to the VCB Proxy. This script is run as a scheduled Windows every Sunday morning task.

    The problem is that I tend to get errors of some sort every now and then which stops one or more machines being backed up while others seem to be backed up to a fine. However as I'm not running the script myself I don't see codes error or additional information that may be useful in troubleshooting. Also, when I run the script manually to see if I can see the problem it often works very well if it does not help too.

    I really want to save the information that VCB spits when he's doing his thing for future reference to a text file, so it can be checked if a problem is identified. Someone at - it a great way to record this information?

    Thank you

    SB

    With L - you can change the logging level.

    Then make a simple redirectio in a file (command line > log_file).

  • Create the alarm to run the script when migrating a VM

    Very well, I create an alarm that triggers a script that runs whenever a virtual computer is migrated automatically in a DRS cluster. I see in the API documentation that I could use the EventAlarmExpression - & gt; new (eventType = & gt; "VmMigratedEvent") (or maybe one of the other dealing with migration eventType). " The problem is that I don't see a way to be able to use a RunScriptAction with an EventAlarmExpression. It seems the only way is to use the RunScriptAction with a StateAlarmExpression. Here is a code snippet showing if all goes well I would do:

    My = $vmName ' name_of_vm;

    My $alarmScript = ' / usr/sbin/vm_migration_update.pl';

    My $vm = Vim::find_entity_view (view_type = & gt; 'VirtualMachine.

    filter = & gt; {name = & gt; $vmName}) ;

    My $alarmMgr = Vim::get_service_content() - & gt; alarmManager;

    my $alarm = Vim::get_view (mo_ref = & gt; $alarmMgr);

    My $alarmExpr = EventAlarmExpression - & gt; new (eventType = & gt; (' VmMigratedEvent');

    My $alarmAction = RunScriptAction - & gt; (new)

    script = & gt; $alarmScript

    );

    My $alarmTrigger = AlarmTriggeringAction - & gt; (new)

    action = & gt; $alarmAction,

    1. red2yellow = & gt; 1,

    1. green2yellow = & gt; 0,

    1. yellow2red = & gt; 0,

    1. yellow2green = & gt; 0

    );

    My $alarmSpec = AlarmSpec - & gt; (new)

    name = & gt; "Migrated VM."

    Description = & gt; 'Trigger to run the script then from VM migration',

    activated = & gt; 1,

    expression = & gt; $alarmExpr,

    action = & gt; $alarmTrigger,

    );

    My $newAlarm = $alarm - & gt; CreateAlarm (entity = & gt; $vm, spec = & gt; $alarmSpec);

    The problem is with the AlarmTriggeringAction. There is nothing to test with an EventAlarmExpression (i.e. the EventAlarmExpression does not provide States of red/yellow/green). So the question is, does anyone know how to set up an alarm that will run a script when an EventAlarmExpression is used. Specifically, I'd like to be able to run a script each time a virtual machine is migrated automatically in a DRS cluster. Pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    David

    Try this:

    C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe C:\VMware\VMwareCLI\scripts\call_migrate_perl.cmd

    In fact, you can just run scripts perl like this:

    C:\Perl\perl.exe C:\scripts\migrate.pl

    Note: the commands are executed under 'System', not the user of the connection currently. If you don't see it visually. You can take a look at using Windows Task Manager if necessary.

    In addition, you can have parameters of placeholder that will be replaced before the "scripts" are actually executed.

    Good luck!

  • Looking to run a script when the form gets focus

    Hello all flexers out there...
    I have an application that uses a tab navigator control that is embedded inside a tab navigator control. Basically, it gives me two rows of browsers tab which is really cool. My problem, well my flex related question, is that I want to trigger a code when I select one of the tabs in the browser built-in tab control.

    I tried to use the indicator of activation in the header tag but who does not have the first time the form is opened, more it will always fire when the browser loses focus. I tried the indicator initialization, but this event only fires when the form is created first and before all the data is passed to the form. The creationComplete triggers once and it was after that the form is created the first time, but before that any data sent to it.

    Grrr... I need to initialize a few combo boxes, but I only want to run the Action Script when the form gets the focus and I need to have the data available before running the script. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance for the help!

    Thanks for the tip of Tracy, but the change event fired off so many times, I stop counting until I killed my debugging session.

    After reviewing all the events in the model itself, I finally started to recede in the code. It turned out that the show in the canvas that called the 2nd tab navigator works best.

    There is one thing about Flex that makes me just batty. The way in which things are called and the number of times where things sometimes called in Flex doesn't make much sense at all. I think we should clean up the sequence of events in Adobe Flex! I keep seeing all kinds of events fire off several times and I can't understand why. Well the show solved this problem for me!

  • Running MatLab script

    Hi guys!

    I use TestStand to connect a bunch of data and save them as binary files. When the test is finished, I would like to start a matlab script. For the moment I do it manually, just open MatLab and change the path used by the script to find the particular set of binaries to test.

    What I understand you can use MathScript with the basic package.

    I requires nothing more of Matlab open / running a script in the background at a time given in the test. Could it be done by using a system call and just passing the path as a parameter to a LabView VI?

    Any IDE for what is the best approach?

    Thank you for your time!

    Ah, I understand now. Yes, the basic edition doesn't have the Matlab script node. In this case, you can use Exec System to simply call the Matlab command line. Matlab documentation contains various switches to it.

  • How to run a script php on external server

    Hello!

    Here's my problem: I want to run a script php on a server by calling a simple url. Here is an example of a possible url: http://servername/dir/scriptname.php?var1=a&var2=2.

    The return value is a html code.

    I use CVI 2012 AND 3.5!

    Hello!

    Thank you very much! It's the way I'll do it!

    But I have to call a different get command. Here's my way: Fmt (tlsend, "%s %s", "GET" ', http://servername/dir/scriptname.php?var1=a&var2=2 ');

    The next problem is the response of the InetTelnetRead. She returns with-4 "system socket error". But the result of the php-script is tlread.

    So my problem is almost solved!
