Craigslist requires that you use a default mail client. Yahoo's Webmail and not an e-mail client. You may be able to get around it with this fix. If this isn't the case, you would need a Yahoo Plus account is established in Windows Mail.

  • My friend recently updated one of my old computers from Windows XP to Windows 7, but I want to go back to Windows XP. How can I do this?

    original title: restore Win Xp

Hi, my friend has recently updated my old system of windows xp with windows 7. Now, is there a way I can restore my computer to the back? I do not have the installation diskettes, but I don't have the option when I boot into xp or Windows 7 recovery console. Is there a way I can make my xp using this? I currently have the windows.old folder, as well on the hard drive of the computer and a removable. Perhaps, uninstall Windows 7 completely and put the windows.old folder in her place? Greatly appreciated!

    Hello

    · What is the number and the model of the computer?

You can follow the procedure from the following link: how to restore a Windows 7 computer to a previous Windows installation by using the Windows.old folder: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971760

You have an Acer laptop, Packard Bell Windows Vista computer running?

Packard Bell OEM Windows can only be used on machines from Packard Bell.

If the label says XP, then the machine was initially delivered with XP,

and the one who sold you the machine will rip you off with an illegal copy of Vista.

If you can, get your money back.

If not, you will have either to reinstall XP, or get a legitimate copy of something more recent.

    Hello

Method 1: Start your computer in a clean boot, and then try the backup to verify if a third-party program is causing the problem. To configure your computer to clean boot see the following link.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 7 article to start on normal startup.

Method 2: If the problem persists then, perform the SFC scan and try to perform the backup and check if that helps. The SFC/SCANNOW command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

For more information how to make SFC / scan, please follow this link:

  • I ran repair xp and type bootcfg /rebuild. I'm so propmted to load identifier, and support options. How do I answer? my machine starts with the disc of windows inside, but I want to remedy.

trying to get windows xp on startup without using system disk

    Uh-oh...

Current automatic response on an idle thread with replicates and KB article link (it's time).

The Idnetfier "load" is just a string of text that will help you to choose the installation of XP to load (in case you have several).

You can choose the text you want for the Identifire of charge... for example, if you use XP processional, your load identifier can be:

    Microsoft Windows XP Professional

    It could also be:

    Installation of Craig Lang

.. .it is not serious - it of just an identifier and does not change things at all.

Loading options to you, but the load for a typical configuration Options would be:

    / fastdetect

This would create a simple boot.ini for installation of XP single partition:

Choose the option will give you a boot.ini file that looks like this:

    [boot loader]
    timeout = 30
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional "/ fastdetect

  • Is there a way I can recover my Outlook Express email. I hate Windows live mail and want to come back to Outlook Express. I have Windows 7.

Is there a way I can recover my Outlook Express e-mail account.  I downloaded Windows Live Mail and don't like it at all.  I can't understand how to add a new contact.

You post in a forum of Vista and Outlook Express last used in XP. If you mean Vista Windows Mail, unless you have removed the account, just open the program and use it. You can remove WLMail whenever you want. It is a part of the programs in the window Live Essentials Control Panel uninstall section.

    1. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

Please wait for the response from Microsoft support engineer for the number that you have posted here.

Run the SFC scan on the computer and check.

SFC tool scans system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.
To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

  • Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll

    Hello everyone,

Recently, I received a very troublesome machine I have don't seem to not be able to solve. He began with thumbnails of Image not appearing is not in Windows Explorer.

Since then, I have studied the issue widely and have not yet found a solution. Here is a list of the things I've tried:

    • Open a jpg image with 'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer' by using a right-click in Solution Explorer, and selecting 'Open with'. Result: "error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll system cannot find the file specified."
    • Check the existence of shimgvw.dll and there are of course. When I opened a back and 'cd' command line to C:\Windows\system32, enter "regsvr32 shimgvw.dll", the result is: "failed to LoadLibrary ("shimgvw.dll") - the system cannot find the file specified."
    • Next test was run "sfc/scannow" as suggested in the many messages on several online forums. This command runs for a while and returns without error. Tried the above steps once again, same results.
    • So I uninstalled SP3 through the Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. Has raced for a while. SP3 renewed. Has raced for a while. Still not perceived image and still the same error messages.
    • Finally, I got a Windows XP SP3 slipstream CD, that I created a while back and ran a repair of the system. All is very well, and when finally the system rebooted, everything was the same old.

I know that this may be easier to simply reinstall Windows XP Home fresh from scratch at this stage, but the user don't like this idea due to the loss of all applications, settings, etc.

I would appreciate some guidance on how to solve this problem.

    Thank you!
    Wolfgang

Since I have seen so many questions related shimgvw.dll on the web, that many people had not found a solution, I will post the solution I found. Thanks to some research more, I stumbled upon the Dependency Walker tool. http://www.DependencyWalker.com/ after the installation of this application, I was able to analyse fully what shimgvw.dll should be able to load all dependencies. Curiously, one of the DLLs it requires is gdiplus.dll, who, for some reason, in \windows\system32 but not exist inside a different application path I forgot now. Whatever it is, it should be noted that there is a 'properties' function in the Dependency Walker tool. Right-click the dll with red indicator and verify the path where a dll (in my case shimgvw.dll) tries to locate another dll file. I then just used the system32 gdiplus.dll and copied into the other lane and eventually I got with regsvr32 shimgvw.dll. Explorer then looked at thumbnails showing again and images and faxes were also back in business.
