RV042 and exchange 2010

I bought a RV042 to take advantage of the second internet connection, that we put in place.  Port forwarding for the exchange server is currently managed by our main DSL modem/router.  After spending some time by configuring the new RV042, I tried to implement yesterday.  I changed the setting of the DSL modem/router to bridge and changed the IP address so that it does not enter into conflict with the new router.  I unplugged and plugged the cables and I went back to my workstation.  I opened a browser and the internet was not working.  I pulled out my phone and sent an email of phone to my computer and it worked.  Then I tried to send an email from the workstation to the phone.  He came back not available immediately, and then I lost the connection to exchange server.  He began asked for the password to connect and acted as if I was outside the tent to connect through all the pseudonyms known to our mail server.  I even restarted the server of mail without success.  I ended up having to remove the RV042 and reset the modem/router DSL to the old settings back to work.  Anyone can shed light on what I might have missed in RV042 settings?

Some people are using the protocol binding to bind SSL (port 443) to one of the WAN of RV042 port can work around the problem of authentication with Exchange failure.
