RV320 Hello discovery through VLANs?

Hello

I have one network consisting of 2 VLANS - one for the 'main' network and the other for a network "invited" using a RV320 router configuration. I have a couple of Apple TV and a Setup program TV smart Sony on the main network VLAN. I wish that these devices to be detectable and usable on the guest VLAN. After reading different articles on Hello, it seems that it is not easy to do.

Can anyone confirm whether or not it is possible to provide this functionality on the router RV320? Any advice would be most appreciated.

I'm sorry, but I'm very positive that Hello traffic will remain in the VLAN. This type of traffic is not allowed across on other VIRTUAL networks.

I don't know there is a solution, but I do not.

    as you can see this message pops up all the second and sometimes several times per second. our network guys don't see no discovery VLAN.

    This happens on a triple cluster of Cisco C240M3S with the last ESX5.5U2 running a VSAN for Horizon 6 environment. seems not to impact performance or features, but due to the frequency it makes it very hard to debug, other issues because he literally swamps the vmkernel newspaper.

    It's because of the DCBX. You have cadrs ANC and ESXi are looking for FCoE VLAN. If you do not FCoE, you can disable the driver FCoE on ESXi hosts. The UCS is probably fnic module:

    esxcfg-module d fnic

    This should add a line to /etc/vmware/esx.conf

    # cat /etc/vmware/esx.conf | grep fnic

    / VMkernel/module/FNIC/Enabled = "false".

    You need to restart the ESXi host

    According to its technical specifications and administration guide the RV320 supports 16 VLAN. But Microsoft device emulator allows you to add four new VLAN while 3 is already implemented, for a total of 7 VIRTUAL networks. Microsoft device emulator is based on the old firmware? Can anyone confirm that it doesn't support actually 16 VLAN tagged?

    Also, what is the RV325? It seems that the same material with 14 LAN ports instead of 4. Any news on when it will be available?

    The RV320 supports 7 VLAN.

    The next RV325 supports 17 VLAN. I have the updated Administrator's guide to be more clear.

  • Several s DMZ on a hunt through VLANs?

    Have a PIX 520 6.0 (1) market with failover and 5 DMZ (in, out and three others) and all our DMZ is fast hub Cisco 412. I have recently been responsible for leading the PIX and learn on the fly. I removed many static s, ducts and other configuration lines that were not needed and is top grade of 6.2 (2). Until I update there is still some config problems, I need to work. A question I have is on the fast hubs used to the s of the DMZ. We currently receive millions of collisions and other errors of the interface, and I guess that goes fast hubs switches would help considerably the performance or the DMZ s? It was suggested to me to use a single switch for all DMZ s and configure the VLANS on the switch to keep traffic separated. What is a good and safe approach? What is a demilitarized zone has been compromised the switch VLAN is compromised? I think having separate switches separate DMZ would be the safest? What switches that you would recommend or you recommend to stick with the fast hubs? Also it would be nice to shoot Unitization and other static s off these DMZ passes any safe way to do this? Just to give you an idea of the traffic going through our PIX at rush hour, we have a total of 7 MB to traffic for most of the VPN. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

    These may be related to mismatched speed and duplex settings between the pix and the hub. Automatic detection doesn't always work as expected.

    If so, try to manually set the pix at the proper speed and duplex mode interface.

    Replace managed switch hubs can also help in this regard, in addition to the other benefits of a switch.

    I would also use separate switches, for simplicity.

    I think that VLAN will add another unnecessary point of failure and complexity.

    You can enable SNMP to the pix and use MRTG to get some info from traffic on the interfaces - but this gives you only the total traffic per interface and no details on traffic.

    A syslog Analyzer program that works with the pix can give much more detail, the extra traffic (syslog traffic itself) costs, overhead at the pix and the hardware and software costs additional.

  • Transfer multicast through VLANs for KVM Over Ip

    I am currently designing an architecture of Terminal servers, using the KVM-Over-IP technology (I use features of Gefen) where I have two VLAN:

    • A VLAN for screens (receivers KVM) at 192.168.240.0/24
    • A VLAN for servers (KVM shippers) to 192.168.241.0/24

    I use a Switch Cisco 3750 G Layer 3. I have configured all the VLAN with their gateways (. 1) and there is connectivity between devices, so this ping between them, etc. The configuration is as follows (this is an excerpt, the rest are the default values)

    Now, KVM (these devices Gefen DVI KVM) devices cannot auto detect other KVM devices in different VLANS. It is to be expected, because the broadcast messages do not exceed the limits VLAN. After further investigation, looks like these devices use multicast groups to annonunce themselves, using standard TCP connections later to perform the video transmission.

    To solve the problem, I enabled routing multicast distributed and also tried activation sparse dense mode. Using wireshark with duplication of port I see some messages of the devices within a local network VIRTUAL membership report and Protocol PIM from the interface messages VLAN (. 1), but the devices fail to see each other again.

    Thus, from scratch, how should I configure the 3750G for multicast traffic is shared between the VLANS? I also checked the MVR nothing helps.

    What is the Group of multicast discovery? If 224.0.0.x. that is not specific to the local LAN segment with a TTL of 1. In these cases the multicast routing road it.

    If it's another group of multicast, always check the LIFE expectancy in the packages. It can always be 1.

  • Cannot connect the switch Cisco Cisco SG300 - 28 p spend and traffic through VLANS

    Try to connect the Cisco SG300 - 28 p switch to another switch and proceed 2 VLANS between them.  Not doing any circuit.  If I connect a computer to the port on the SG300 - 28 p I can access the VLAN 2 and take a DHCP address. However, when I connect to another switch on the port and connect it to a port on another switch secondary I am unable to access VLAN 2 and pull an IP address.  I checked that the works of secondary switch (WS-C3560G-48PS-S) connected to the other 3500 s, but not this latest SG300 - 28 p.  Here's the configuration for both, I'm leaving areas that shouldn't matter and add if necessary.  Try to connect the SG300 - 28 p Port 26-WS-C3560 Port 1 port.  Once again, if I connect a computer to port 26 on the SG300 - 28 p I access the VLAN 2 as expected, but not when I connect to channel 2 on the secondary switch.

    Yes, STP is the problem here. As you can see on your release of the Cisco 3500 switch, port Gi0/1 is BKN (The FEW is a shortened form of "Broken").

    This is caused by an incompatibility of versions PLEASE used between the two switches. Small businesses (including series SG300) switches are use legacy STP or Rapid STP (your case), but uses templates to business (such as catalyst 3500) PVST + (each VLAN spanning tree version of STP).

    Two versions between group of switches are compatible only under certain conditions. Important condition is that the two switchports needs to use a VLAN 1, vlan access/native and not any other number VLAN.

    It is to make your communication work, you must:

    • disable the STP at least 3500 Cisco switch:

      • on overall global (Switch (config) # no vlan spanning tree 2)
      • or by the base interface (switch(config-if) # no vlan spanning tree 2)
    • change the configuration of your connection between two switches by following the path:
      • change the switchport trunk (trunk switchport mode) mode
      • do 1 VLAN as native vlan (vlan switchport trunk native 1)
      • Towing VLAN 2 as vlan tagged on that Stump (switchport trunk allow vlan add 2)

    Sorry, this is not possible. There are no AU SIP port FXO on the SRP540, just an internal mechanism to connect ports FXS internal for incoming and outgoing calls.

    I just bought RV220W Cisco router for our branch to replace Zywall 2 Plus.  Update to the latest firmware 1.0.5.8 device.

    I tried several different setting, but can not solve simple inter configuration of VLAN, that ZyWall resolves in a few clicks.

    I have a simple task: I need two VLAN isolated on my network (VLAN 1: 10.1.2.1 and VLAN10: 192.168.2.1). No movement between them VLAN is allowed. I have to configure several exceptions:

    1.) access of VLAN1 to Server (192.168.2.40) from VLAN10 port 3389 (RDP).

    2.) VLAN10 access to a network printer (10.1.2.10) on port 9100 VLAN1.

    I tried several settings and configurations of firewall that does not work.

    I tried inter VLAN (VLAN-VLAN) rules to block all traffic except permitted, but these rules don't change anything.  I have full access to one VLAN to another and vice versa.

    I tried to disable routing inter VLAN, which solve my task of isolation, but firewall interVLAN rules does not work for exceptions, I need.

    For this configuration, you must first uncheck InterVlan routing for both VLAN (network > LAN > belonging to a VLAN). Also make sure that the ports are propely configured-tag/Untagged/excluded

    After that, he must create access rules 2 (Inter MELANIECARDENES (VLAN - VLAN))

    -from Defaul to VLAN10 - always allow - Source all - Destination 192.168.2.40

    -Since VLAN10 to Default - always allow - Source all - Destination 10.1.2.10

    There is no need to create rules to block, as it is by default and interVLAN routing is not enabled.

    If with this configuration you still do not have access to the server and printer, you can use Administration - diagnosis - capture the packets and Wireshark to track if the packets are routed properly through VLANs and where the string stops.

    I'm get inter vlan routing to work on a 300-24 ports switch DF.    I have a network of business existing on 192.168.111.0 and want to create a vlan on 192.168.1.1 which can talk to 192.168.111.0.    I activated the layer 3 routing on the switch through the console and also provided ip routing commands. I have the following VIRTUAL networks:

    Vlan1 - default 192.168.111.0

    VLAN2 - 192.168.1.0

    I turned on DNS and provided my two servers DNS 192.168.111.82 & 192.168.111.212.

    I updated the VLAN1 interface 192.168.111.217 and VLAN2 interface 192.168.1.1.

    The FE1 - FE15 ports are access ports and assigned to VLAN1 (unidentified)

    FE16 - FE24 ports are access ports and assigned to VLAN2 (unidentified)

    I put a default route for the switch to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.111.254 (router Draytek 2600). I have connected a computer (A) at the port of VLAN1 FE3 and a computer (B) to VLAN2 FE16 port.   I put its IP address and computer default gateway has to 192.168.111.217 to 192.168.111.94.    I updated computer B default gateway 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 IP.

    Computer A has access to the Mdaemon Server files via the network grows but no internet (cannot ping google) and can ping computer B and RDP on computer B.

    Computer B can ping computer A and RDP on A computer but do not have access to the company network i.e. MDaemon, file server etc.   It can also access the internet.

    The console I can ping www.google.co.uk and all the ip addresses in the network of the company i.e. 192.168.111.82 (DNS server).   I do not understand what I am doing wrong and have been banging my head for staretd a few days a new job and desperately need to work so any help would be greatly appreciated

    If I have computer scanner a wireshark wirh internet starts working wheird!

    Here's the scenario for cisco NAC if anyone has good solution please let me know.

    We plan to implement a NAC L2 in the virtual band door entry (wireless) and virtual gateway L2 Out-of-band (wired). for in the band, there are 4 different VLAN different vlan not reliable and trust and one OOB vlan untrusted and vlan trust 4. because this design is virtual gateway mode, both approved and unapproved interface has the same ip address. Then in what vlan should put us the CASE?

    As far as I know, you can't. The VLAN native should be VLAN1.

  • PowerConnect 5448 several VLANS between upstream and downstream server firewall

    I am struggling with what I thought, would be a simple task: route several subnets, each on one VLAN different, a firewall to a server.  In fact, I can't even pass the VLAN by default one still looking correct in the address tables and STP.

    Port 1 = firewall, VLAN 1 unidentified, 2 VLAN Tag, 1 PVID, tried the two trunk and general patterns

    17 = server NIC, VLAN 1 unidentified port, VLAN Tag, PVID 1 and 2 2, tried, tried both safe and general patterns

    VLAN 1 (firewall untagged) 10.84.195.0/24, 10.84.195.2 Interface IP and default gateway 10.84.195.1

    VLAN 2 (tag of firewall) 10.101.0.0/16, IP Interface 10.101.0.2 for 2 VLAN, firewall est.1

    The first thing I got was that something has not been properly marked by (Hyper-V, using SC VMM 2012 SP1) server or the firewall (Watchguard XTM 520).  Simple test: VPN Firewall, ping the switch to 10.101.0.2 with the tag, and works, remove the label and it doesn't.  Dynamic address table shows the two-way firewall.  Line 18 below appears right after the ping as planned on VLAN 2 with the same MAC address in VLAN 1.  In addition, I ping the switch 10.101.0.2 from the server and it works fine.  The table shows that VLAN 2 from the host (and 1 other VM), so it seems to me that everything is properly labeled.

    What I can't do, is ping through the switch to VLAN 2.  I can't ping my VPN server (10.101.20.1), and I can not ping to the gateway (10.101.0.1) from the server.  Note, it is not because of rules to firewall on each end.

    What Miss me?  I don't think I need a routing of layer 3 here, I don't have to go through VLAN, just have them several VLANS passes from one port to the other.

    Other things to note in case it is useful:

    -I have no connectivity not tag with everything else through the 10.84.195.xxx/24 switch.

    -If I delete the Tags VLAN port 2 1 trunk, I suddenly can ping the bridge VLAN 2 (10.101.0.1) from the server, although I suspect that it is because the same port is the default gateway for the switch.

    -For brevity, only 2 lines of the STP are listed below, but all ports are therefore based on the question of whether they are connected or not.

    Would it be possible for run you to stick your show output here in the forum.  In this way, we can take closer look at what you have configured.

    If you connect a desktop/laptop computer (with and intellectual property in the 10.101.0.0/16 range) in a port with the mode of access switchport VLAN 2 are you able to ping IP Interface 10.101.0.2 for 2 VLANS?  You could try to disconnect the firewall and the configurations for the port and work on getting through the switch with 2 terminals on a single VLAN.  Then, once this is confirmed as work connect the firewall back up with a trunk/general mode adding the VLAN necessary.

    You connect to the firewall on a layer 3 interface?  You need Layer 3 routing to reach the firewall correctly.

    The vlan native must be the same for both switches. On the 3750 vlan native is 35 and on the 2960 vlan 1 native. Try to change 1 to 35 on the 2960 and test again.

    I have a base on this SG300-52 configuration:

    • L3 is enabled
    • Latest Firmware is installed (1.4.0.88)
    • Vlan1 IP is 10.0.0.1/24
    • A PC is connected to port 1 (with IP 10.0.0.3)
    • VLAN99 IP is 192.168.0.2/29
    • A router is connected to the 49 port (with the 192.168.0.1 IP address and Internet access to the router is OK)
    • On SG300-52 default gateway is 192.168.0.1

    The SG-300:

    • I can ping the default gateway (192.168.0.1) and any Internet address, using 192.168.0.2 as address IP Source
    • I can't ping the default gateway (192.168.0.1) or any Internet address, using 10.0.0.1 as address IP Source
    • I can ping my PC (10.0.0.3), using 10.0.0.1 as the IP Source address
    • I can't ping my PC (10.0.0.3), using 192.168.0.2 as address IP Source

    There is no routing inter - VLAN, but I can't find how to activate...
