S20 Audio stutter / DPC latency... can't fix. Need help!

Hello world

I have recently (last week) bought a Lenovo S20 (Xeon W3520 with 6 GB memory upgrade). I mainly

Use this workstation as a DAW for audio, check / change. Instead of preinstalled Windows XP (32-bit)

and the Vista Business that comes with the DAW, I installed Windows 7. Everything went very well,

the system is stable, ThinkVantage drivers are up-to-date. A NVIDIA GeForce 260 is used as graphics card.

But for applications audio my S20 as it is now, is simply unusable. I hear drop outs/stuttering even with the edge, if I play a mp3 or wav file. I have disabled unnessary devices / background programs, tested with HT on/tested, without Speedstepping and Turbo Mode. No difference. I get a regular DPLC advanced every 15 seconds. And the tips are very high (16 ms). No difference if I plug an EMU 1820 PCI card instead of its edge. Disabling of the on-board LAN has not made a difference either.

Take a look: screenshot of DPC latency

No idea how to solve this problem?

Best,

dynamitec
